Great Central Railway Winter Steam Gala 2024

The GCR Winter Steam Gala 2024. The visiting locos this year were L&Y A class 52322 from the East Lancashire Railway and BR Standard 4 75069 from the Severn Valley Railway which stood in for failed S160 2253 ‘Omaha’. Accompanied by the home fleet of BR 9f 92214 making its last gala appearance before being withdrawn for overhaul, BR standard 5 73156, BR standard 2 78018 and 78019, 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’ and 8F 48305.
This year I headed up on the Friday but I wasn’t feeling 100% so I decided to stick around Quorn and Woodhouse and get some more scenic shots. I started early on Saturday to get some footage at the Leicester end of the line before moving north to Kinchley lane, woodthorpe, quorn, and Loughborough.
