  • Porvoo from above!
Relieve some stress by exploring one of the most beautiful towns in Finland from the bird's-eye perspective of a drone.
Are you ready for the perfect day trip from Helsinki? Today we're discovering Porvoo!
Porvoo (Borgå in Swedish), is a cute town not even one hour away from Helsinki, and it is one of the six medieval towns in Finland. It is best known for its well-preserved 18th and 19th-century buildings and 15th-century cathedral, above which we'll make sure to fly multiple times so you can capture the details.
Our flight will start by the northernmost bridge, the one closest to the cathedral, and we'll start our visit by checking the old town. One of the first buildings that will draw your attention is the old Porvoo town hall, after which we'll make a low pass-through Jokikatu - one of the most interesting streets in town. You'll get to enjoy multiple views of the famous red wooden houses by the river before crossing to the southern part of the city where new housing has been designed to match the old red houses.
We will then leave the river and enter the city through the Runeberg Park. Johan Runeberg is the national poet of Finland and lived until 1877 in the yellow house that you'll see after we see his statue at the park. He was the author of the Finnish National Anthem, so we couldn't miss his house! We'll then continue towards Lyseopuisto and all the way to the local swimming hall. Our flight will take us closer to Linnajoen secondary school and the central sports facilities.
That beautiful building that will catch your breath is the new town hall, right next to the main square - which you'll identify by the signs at the bus stop. We'll climb high at that point so you get a good panoramic of the town right before taking a brief look at the entrance of the city library. We will then wander again through the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town and fly high to take a closer look at the cathedral and its tower. At that point, we'll be closer to our starting point and we'll say goodbye - time for you to explore the city!
Hopefully, after our short flight, you'll want to visit Porvoo again and be part of the charming atmosphere full of cozy cafés, frozen-in-time narrow streets, and welcoming spirit of the locals.
If you're curious about Helsinki neighborhoods and other breathtaking towns, don't forget to subscribe!
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy our flight together. Tervetuloa!

The medieval old town of Porvoo is indeed one of the most beautiful places especially in summers. 😍 Even in winter, it has its own enchanting power when there is snow.😉

When this was filmed? Since you can hardly see single person anywhere, some early summer morning?
