Triple black 550s been my work shoe for 2 years now lol super comfortable and looks awesome
Grew up in the '80s and '90s. I remember a buddy of mine who had really narrow feet said he could only wear New Balance back in the day. This was when everybody was wearing Jordans, Air Flights, Air Trainers, Air Max , and BKs, Diadora, Fila etc. So I always associated them with very narrow feet. Not anymore obviously. Anyway, great vid.

It sounds like 550s are too narrow to fit me, which is a shame cause they look good and I *love* when materials are on point. I'm locked-in with my love for Dunks but if these were on sale at about $80, it would be tempting to try a pair.

Bro you need to check up again on their Numeric Skateboarding line. They finally got their shit together and started putting out consistent collabs. The Numeric 480 303 Boards x Jeremy Fish pair and the newest Andrew Reynolds 480 in white leather are worth checking out.
the 550 and 650 are underrated, i also think that they fit okay for a wode footer. great behind the scenes question!
I love these shoes and all the color ways. Sadly I have flat wide feet so I can’t get my foot in them, so I just sit and admire them 🤣

I really want them but don’t know if even getting a full size up from my wide length size will work. I am 9 in Timberlands, work boots and AF1s and air more uptempo and 8.5 wide in converse but can’t wear a 9 from most sneaker brands due to my width in my larger foot. I am hoping a 10 will work and I have worn a 10 in Lebron 8s and loved them as a performance shoe and wore the sole out completely I wore them so much over the course of like three or four years playing basketball in them. They were actually my favourite shoe for playing in of my adult life and only the Hyperdunk came close but had too much of a heel to toe drop and too much of a heel stack height for my liking. Loved how flat the 8s were and the size 10 worked for me although I could have probably wore a 9.5, but who knows.

So this video made me go back and check the colorways I have of these. reminded myself that I have 3 different versions: leather all the way around, leather with the suede on just the toe, and the leather/suede/mesh combination. the later seems to fit better. I get heel slip in the other 2

Grabbed these in this blue and the dark blue and red/organge. They are crazy nice in hand. Thought I was done with the 550s until I got these. 🔥🔥🔥 pair!

I prefer the build and feel of the 550’s to the dunk lows. They just feel more sturdy. 🤘🏾

I picked up an early colourway, and I similarly found them to be tight. I put my shoe stretchers in them for a bit of extra space, but I still had to suffer through a break-in period.
I love the style of the 550, though!

The 550 "sea salt" is so nice! It's a cream and black colorway and the leather is ridiculous. So soft.

I love the 550! I don't have the same sizing issue you do and I don't have wide feet either. Materials are a little suspect at times, but these are really nice...need to track them down!

Not a fan of the 550 but excellent review as always. Think the non rehearsed method comes off better and it's more like a conversion versus a review. You get the discussion and then some shoe tech learning at the same time.

I feel like the Adidas Forums did this too, where it's after the wave ended you can find better quality shoes.
Seems like that's what's happening to the recent 550s, which is cool with me because I don't need to be trendy and it's an easy buy 🤷🏾♂️

I know this kinda dumb, but the ALD 550's and 650's are for sure more inline with NB's usual quality and WAY more comfy.
New Balance still continues to deliver good product ... even with the overseen 550. New Balance is literally the best brand of the moment while Nike continues to disrespect consumers with dog sh***. Thanks for the video

Love the 550 suede look and feel. These…meh, not so much. As always, great job Chris on the reviews!
The suede versions have been at our local New Balance the last couple of times I've visited. So much better than the leather ones.
I've tried these and the 650s on numerous times but the 650s are a much better fit for me.
I also really like the Asics EX89, those are amazing.

For me the 550 aren't uncomfortable during the break in period, just kinda stiff. Once they break in they're great. I like them a lot better than Dunks, honestly I'd say the Max force is more comfortable than the dunks

Yeah the 550 is a really solid shoe and the colorways and materials have been improving over time.
550 and 650 have become my go to. They look narrow but feels like more room and more comfortable than my Jordan 1s. I have a wide foot and go half size up. To me it feels like the recent Jordan 1s have gotten more narrow.
@@MizuMaloon sure have. I think Nike/jordan are gonna start making all their shoes women sizes to make it “universal”. I just see that more special editions like AMA’s have been in women’s sizes.
yup the laces on my pair are long too.
These🔥🔥 and the uppers' comfort fs improved with softer materials but still them midsoles are stiff af. I gave mine away, untill they make the steping comfort better when ima cop again. Outsole should stay but they should imcorporate fuel cell inside

For me the 550 is NB's AF1. Not a fan of the design of the toe box though, looks a bit clunky to me. NB 9060 looks awesome in some colours.
