I have seen so many videos for planting lotus...by far this was the best
thank you sooo much..:)
Yay! After watching so many videos I come across this one it was by far the most informative step by step one I have seen. Thank you so very much. Mine are just not yet ready to be planted but I know exactly how to when it comes time.
Thank you so much!! This is what I was looking for!😍 Simple instructions!😜😊
You have magical power sir... this video is so satisfying.. though i am not that of a gardener, still I watch ur videos.. its so nice to see the plants growing
Thank u😊😊
Just fyi, I had 3 floating seeds that produced plants so maybe don't give up on them so easily. 🌱
Heather Dove Sherman good point!!!
Yeah, even I started with 6 seeds, out of which 3 were floating but I kept them soaked and within 5 days, I was delighted to have all the seeds grown into a new Life
🌺🌺very nice lotus
Same here. I cracked them lightly with the hammer. All those that were floating, sprouted and are growing well!!

Very interesting video
Thank you! great video and step by step instructions. I watched several Lotus seed videos before finding yours and now i am subscribed to your channel🌸🌱
I am going to try this, this year. Thank you for the clear and easy instructions
Great instruction😊🍃🍁🌹💕🌹⚘🌹❣
thank u..:)
Flower rose Gumamela good
using hammer is not a good idea, i tried it and most of the seeds got damages, i will recommend everyone to use sand paper only as it gives best results
True it damages it most of the time
I just lightly filing the seed. This time I succeeded. Germination started. Finger cross 🤞 lets wait for the good news
Yes correct.
💯 agreed,I also tried the hammer method none of the seeds germinate and all got spoilt
Scarification with polish paper helped the seeds to germinate
Just wanted to say thank you. You have helped me learn and improve many of my planting methods. Keep Up the Wonderful Work!
Great video!
Do the plants need a vegetation break or can you grow them the whole year indoors at ~ 22 °C at a bright window? In the winter it gets a bit darker(Germany). Thinking about a small indoor Pond with a Lotus. And i had some struggels with transplanting 1 year old Plants, most of them died, do you have some advices?
Thanks and have a nice day :)
Thank you. Just what I needed. Simple instructions easy to reproduce.
Thanks 😊 good luck
Another great video! Thank you sir 👍🌱
thank you ...:) i appreciate your support..:)
Very cool! I am eager to try this method for an outdoor pond. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Excellent video, my seeds at 4 days are the same size as yours. But I kept the floating seeds and 4 of the 5 sprouted, so maybe don't be in rush to throw them. The seeds that floated eventually sank, and are only today sprouting.
Dear friend. Thank you very much for this complete explication. Very good. 😊

Thank you so much for uploading the beautiful video, I tried , presently put the cracked seeds in clean water , today is the second day , hoping for the sapling

My Little Garden
Urban Gardening sir how to grow lily plant.
My Little Garden t
works, did it some years ago, bringing back seeds from Bangkok
Thank you so much! I just ordered some “bonsai lotus” seeds online. I am not sure if there is a difference between these and the ones you planted, but is it possible to grow them only in water? Some sellers online have been advertising that no soil is needed, only water, while others do say to plant in soil like you did. Thank you again!
There is no such thing as bonsai seeds. Bonsai is a technique to keep a plant or tree small. If you plant a bonsai in the ground, they will grow to regular size in time. Bonsai arent usually dwarf forms of things. However dwarf plants make good bonsai specimens. Same concept. If it was "dwarf seeds" maybe. But not all dwarf plants come true from seeds, so only cloning works for some dwarf varieties of plants. Hope this helped.
@@seiyuokamihimura5082 those are not bonsai seeds..he is referring to miniatures lotus plants for indoors..I also have these...🙂
Hi. can you please update? Did you get your lotus to flower? I was told lotus grown from the seeds don't really flower.
@@allanagoldman5613 Hi there! So USPS had actually opened my package and then delivered them to me all crushed up and unusable (with an “apology” note) 😂😭 I don’t know if they they thought my package was suspicious, or the seeds I ordered could be a potential invasive species or something, but they clearly didn’t want me planting them 😂 I never tried buying more because it seems like ordering the actual plant starts is the safest bet, and I’m so bad with remembering to look into when they’re in season.
@@DinosourousRexx OMG! Thank you
You have given good idea for getting lotus plant from seeds after scarification using hammer. Thank you.
Good luck
Good video sir ji .
Thank you for the helpful instructions! 🙏
Is it difficult to take care of the flower? Needs lot of sun? You change the water, etc
thank you! how long does it grow? how tall and how wide would the smallest terrarium need to be?
leaf size can get 1-2 feet in diameter ...you can choose according to that ..:) tc
after winter storage when to replant them, when is the good period to start the seeds(march, april)? Do the plants must be on direct sun light or not, how to stop the leaf decay(heat?too crouded?)
Sir super se bhi upper.... excellent.
thanks so much for sharing! i have clay soil in my garden and had no idea what to grow until now 😁
This is so cool thank you!! I am wondering, can I just leave them permanently in a big decorative glass bowl with only water or do they have to have the pot with dirt submerged to live?
Many thx. I ordered seeds from amazon, and can not wait to try
Pls don't order....

How do you keep the water clean? I feel after a few weeks there'd be algae growing on the side of the pot
Change water after every 5-6 days aur add fish varieties such as molly n guppies to keep the water clean for longer period of time
This is a great adventure! Will do it! Thank you
Thanks! Very informative!
Thank u 😊
Nice VDO again. Always u make a very informative VDO's. Lage raho Munna Bhai
thanks bhai ji..:)
wow !
thank you! how long does mini lotus take before they bloom? what is this gray, above the pot?
8-12 months to produce blooms ....that gray thing is sand ..it will help the soil to remain in its position ....otherwise soil will mix up in the water
Hi, this video was very helpful. I have a big wide pot inside my house. It does not have bright light. Will my lotus seeds grow in that pot?
Simple, easy and clear!
Very informative compared to other people's videos on the subject. When using the clay mud is it the heavy clay? Or loamy clay? And can organic materials be a good potting soil? Thanks
Heavy clay type soil is preferred ...mix 20-30 % compost in the soil for good growth

lovely channel. just started some home gardening. your help is amazing :)
Thanks for this great video!
thank u ...:)
Thanks for sharing this video🙏 Would request you to kindly suggest.. what should I do to avoid the water in the big container from becoming muddy
Thank you for the instruction! I have some questions left:
1. why are you putting soil into the smaller pot and not directly into the big one?
2. what kind of aftercare does the system need? Do I have to change water& how often?
Thanks in advance
The best thing is to add freshwater fish to the water, like molly fish or guppy... these are small fishes so the system will be good for them and they will take care of any mosquito larva that will be growing in that water, as such fishes usually feed on such larvae, this way you stay safe and without any tension of growing disease causing mosquitoes in your house... also the excreta from these fishes will be good for the plant... and when ever the water level goes down you can always add more water to it...
I love the nature
Thanks. this is the best so far video tut from seed to plant. accurate and nice!
Ek video me bataya gaya ki kamal gatta se lotus plant nahi lagta keval tube se lagta hai maine bhi kai bar try kiya ye bilkul hi galat hai
Awesome video I love it I’ve been using this video for like a couple years now to grow all my Lotis but could you do a video on how to pollinate lotus?
to get seeds to sprout, hit them with a hammer... there's a bit of silly irony in that, even though i know that it helps the seeds.

😂Probably the same result as being stepped on by a large hoofed animal.
sir , thank you for such an informative video. All your work are so !! Wish you very best.
where do you think are good lotus seeds available?
Right now there r no sellers in my information....you can search online or go to any Pooja store n ask for kamal Khatta seeds...they are easily available
many thanks.
I love your videos. Thank You for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks
Great Video. Nice explanation. It would be great if you can explain the differences between Water Lilies vs Lotus Flower vs Nymphaea vs Nelumbo. Number of Petals of the Nelumbo is higher than Lotus and they are more whitish than Lotus. Is it correct?👍
Hi thank you for this video. How to prevent mosquito breeding in such water in balxony or garden.
Use alum or add fish varieties such as molly n guppies ...or change water every 4-6 days
Bhai potting mix me cow dung compost daal skte h
Mere pass organic compost nhi h .
haa daal saktae hoo decomposed cow dung hi use karna aap

is it possible to grow this type of lotus in a vase? I think it would look nice on the table, but of coarse it should work.
ya sure ...use medium to large size vase ...:)
Yes but it would need a big vase unless your doing mini lotus then you would need a medium vase
Hi bro iam new to this channel iam impressed so much ---is it compulsory to keep in a big pot
thank u..:) u can keep them in small pot also..:)
Excellent! Thank you!

Great video. I'm in California, USA so it takes longer to get them to go but they are getting taller and are almost out of the water at the moment (after 10 days) no roots yet but working on 2nd leaf. I got 2 out of 5 seeds to sprout. I'm going to put them in a pond with fish. Do you use fertilizer to help them grow? If so what kind and how often?
When they are 2-3 months old at that time u can keep 5-7 granules of DAP or NPK in a small piece of clothe ...n burry it in the soil ..repeat this after every 25 -30 days
wow...so cool.thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Hi I have done the same procedure. It really worked and the plant is growing good. Thanks for teaching. May I know when it will produce flowers. Do I need to add fertilisers . May I have a video on this¿ thank you.
After12-18 months they normally produce blooms... U can keep 1 table spoon npk in a piece of clothe n just put it in the soil... Repeat this after e sry 30-35 days
Urban Gardening Thank you sir. I’m started vegetable garden by seeing from your videos. Thank you once again. I will do this as you said.
Then your's will never flower. I grow lotus from 3 years, Plants from seed will indeed flower if it is given enough space. The container in this video is very small.
It will only flower if you grow it in a large size tub{atleast 2 feet in height and 3-4 feet in diameter} with 3/4th of it with clay and 1/4th water. Mine flowered in 1year
Best vedio thanks for sharing your technique to grow lotus, I'll be waiting for your next vedio... All the best.
Thank you for this wonderful video. You mentioned that seeds that float are infertile. What does that mean, will they not grow? Also, I live in Arizona, so have plenty of sun and heat. Can we grow lotus indoors in front of a window?
The seeds that float do not have the capacity to grow into a new plant. They are infertile because they were damaged due to some reasons. But sometimes despite being floating, they tend to grow just like normal seeds. So it depends.
wow so beautiful, when the seeds sprouted it made me so happy :) You should put the after flowering photos too
flowering anae mae 8-12 months lagtae hai..:)

Beautiful video nice flowers and informative tips thanks!
thank you for the video! I have a few questions.... where do you get the seeds? how long does it take before they bloom? would it be possible to put them in our pond eventually and if so how large do they need to be before doing that?
thank you for your comment..:)seeds are easily available online or you can buy from nursery or any seed/garden store (seeds are very cheap)..they normally bloom after 8-10 months from sowing the seeds .....after 8-10 days you can transplant them to the pond bed ..:)you can also grow them directly in the pond ..:)
Urban Gardener
Thank you I wasn't sure if you got them from your own plants
Well I guess that leaves me out of growing lotus as summer here is only 4 months ..
Start your seeds as this video shows at the beginning of summer. Your plant will grow very quickly (fertilizer tablets required) and then go dormant in winter, make sure it doesn't freeze, then in spring it will re-grow out of the mud for a hopeful flower in the next summer.
Thank you--that was a very clear explanation.
Thanks 😊
Thank you. Nice video. I will grow lotus now.
What if you don’t have organic compost? Is Aquascape 89002 Pond Potting Media for Aquatic Plants a good choice for substrate?
can you make a video on how to care for Aloe Vera plant?
ya sure will try to upload soon..:)
NEITIBU aloe vera is easy to grow. You can get one leave from someone who has and plant it. Water it daily. It yields more soon. Results in big size leaves if plant on ground rather than in a pot
@@andril0019 u don't have to water daily.
