I had an emperor female names Knox. I didn't get her expecting the relationship that evolved. She became a friend. Went with me everywhere. Built her a 4 ft by 4 ft jungle. She lived a wonderful existence and YEARS later is still sorely missed. I'm afraid to get another one. I feel like I hit the jackpot with her and should just keep that experience without attempting to recreate it.
Sir you’re awesome!!! Spread your love to another which will bring you so much more happiness over loss. Yes loss is hard but you’re heart doesn’t stop….
You won’t be recreating the experience that already exists with your previous pet. Rather you’d start a new experience with a new creature
@@facepalmmedia yeah! that’s exactly what I was going to say. No experience is ever the same, just go for it 👍🏻

My scorpion boss was very friendly he used to just hang out on my shoulder and when others used to hold him he would walk off them and climb his way back to my shoulder. One day a friend dropped him and he hid away. I woke up with him sleeping on my pillow next to me. He was great little scorpion
"I woke up with him sleeping on my pillow next to me"
I'll take "things that didn't happen" for 400, Alex.
Sureeeeee
I think I just saw you comment on one of Clint’s videos
That scorpion trusts you so much. It's wild to see how some critters like this pick up on the fact that you're not going to hurt them and then it just comes down to what's their mood.
The rules can be so interesting (complicated) when it comes to the world of arachnids and such 🤔
That's 100% complete bullshit. A scorpion does not "pick up on" anything. It doesn't "trust" you. It's just an animal, doing whatever it feels like doing at that time, that's it. I hate it when idiots project their feelings and reasoning onto animal.
First experience with an emperor scorpion was amazing. My friend ‘tried’ to own one as a pet, but messed up… but she was so sweet. She loved attention, she’d flatten her tail to her side so you could keep petting her. I am still scared of all other species.
Where can you find one like this

What happened to you're friend 😮
My friend became a druggie and his scorpion died after stinging herself.
Scorpions aren’t smart
@@sladiewolf I'm sorry, both of those absolutely suck
I’ve never been interested in scorpions, I’m more of a tarantula girl but Jinx has kinda won me over 😍🥰❤️ she’s a sweetheart! If I was going to keep a scorpion, I’d defo want one like her! And who doesn’t want a goth lobster! 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh god, Goth Lobster, that's perfect.
You're just an arachkid. 😎
@@billyscenic5610 😂😂😂😂 I guess I am! 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕸️
Hi Kat! About the communal set up, I currently house 5 asian forest scorpions for 4 years now. Now, they are all brothers and sisters from the mom and dad I had a while back. So far in 4 years there has been no issues. 😀
They do need a bigger space though, i have the 5 of them in a 30 gallon long with enough hides for each one of them.
Funny thing is, they all sleep together every single night and it's super cute!
Also, I've noticed that the 3 bigger ones will come out and bring prey back to the one single hide to feed the other siblings from time to time. 😀
That’s so sweet! This video and these comments have definitely got me way more interested in scorpions.
Same here Robert, also longterm Keeper of Asian Forests and i do agree you can keep them communally, provided they have enough space and hides (at least same amount as scorps plus at least 2 extra hides) and even more importantly you keep them well fed.. then no issues except for some fights between the males from time to time..
@@danielballard3364 The fights that the males get into are they playing for keeps trying to kill each other or just rough housing?
"Goth Lobster" 😂🖤 that is brilliant!!
Jinx is gorgeous! As is her new home!
I started with a couple small scorpions, one of which (South Aussie Yellow Sand scorpion) had their first birthday with me a few days ago, so thrilled they've been happy with my ownership lol. Month or so ago I got my first larger one, Flinders Ranges scorpion. She (Melonny) is half the size of Jinx, so still young, and.. gravid!! Frustratingly not eaten since I had her, but given how "chubby" she is I'm hoping it's because babies are popping out any day now!
She's quite docile it seems, though maybe just tired from all the extra weight haha.. not tried handling but watching Jinx I want to (once she's had the bubs and done raising them!)
This is my first exposure to scorpions! Got here through the tarantulas, and I’ve gotta say I’m also liking the pinchy bois!
Can’t go wrong with an Asian Forest if you ever go that route!!
@@tarantulakati notice your scopion missing a leg 😢what happen
I love my Asian forest scorpion, probably my favorite arachnid to interact with. She only acts tough but is a sweetheart!
I don’t know what a happy scorpion looks like, but that’s gotta be it. 🦂
I just got back from the hospital and this was the first video I watched. I was smiling as you tried to put Jinx in her enclosure and she just wanted to stay on your hand and my mom said she was happy to see me smiling, if only I had told her it was at a scorpion she would’ve had a heart attack! I’ve never been a fan of them before but she’s adorable. Thank you for this video. 🙏🏻💙
ive never really been into scorpions, but its pretty dope how she uses her tail to get onto stuff, and how exited she got when she got the worm! i only wonder, do they have eyes?
Yes, they have several eyes. You can kinda see her two topside eyes in this video somewhat in the middle of the head. They also have a couple lateral eyes more upfront that are a bit harder to see. Theres some good pictures of scorpions if you just google scorpion eyes that will show you what I mean.
Many. The 2 on top are cute, makes them look a little dirpy and cute if you confuse that for a face. They just use those to detect threats from above. Once u see the other 3, you see there true face. And they are not dirpy. They are serious AF.

Literally the CUTEST scorpion I have ever seen she is so adorable 🥰
Thanks for the bit about Jinx, nice to know what a scorpion can really be like, rather than only seeing them as fearful, deadly creatures.
I have a desert hairy scorpion that cohabits with 2 blue feigning death beetles. Even though they were sold together, I was really worried at first that the scorpion might eat the beetles, but they get along just fine! It's very entertaining to watch them going about their business together!
I had an Asian rain forest. I used to let her run around my room and explore. I kept an eye on her obviously. It was cool to come back from work and hear her knock on the glass to signal that she wanted out.
Oh my gosh the way Jinx washed her claws in her water dish was SO CUTE AHHH
I didn't know scorpions use their tails to help boost them up! That's so cool, and Jinx (and her new exclosure) are so cute!
I used to have kitten named Jinx, that I adopted together with her mother. Unfortunatly, Jinx died when she was 1,5 years old due to a birth defect in her defense system. Her brother and sister died too. I still got her mother, but Jinx will never be forgotten. Now I really cry even more for this scorpion in Wednesday.
Terrified of scorpions and I am a Scorpio! 🤣 I'll just watch from far away. 😂😆
What an amazing animal! She’s big enough to really see all her ancient intricacies. Primeval!
This is a really cute enclosure! I've had a lot of scorpions this size and they actually do way better with a shallow water dish because scorpions aren't as great at climbing as tarantulas. All my large scorpions' favorite water dishes so far have been peanut butter lids 😊
You posted this at the perfect time I just got my first Asian forest scorpion last week!!!!! I love him so far 🖤🖤
The little chomp at the beginning so cute hahaha loved it with the sound effects!!❤️🔥
I loved the show Wednesday, I hope they do a season 2. It was right up my alley I grew up on tim Burton and love all things creepy crawly. Jinx is so adorable and she looks super beautiful and sweet. Love you Kat!!
Jinx is very cool! Hmmm... Something to think about!
Thanks for sharing Kat! And nice enclosure, one of my favorites!
❤️
love the shots at the end of her walking around and the music.
Haha, awe I love your dogs little loving playful nibble on your arm 😆💗
Just throwing this thought out there... I would so totally buy a Jinx plushie is you had it made! 🦂😍🖤
I've never thought of scorpions as beautiful until I watched your videos, same with centipedes. Thank you for showing us how wonderful they can be.
I like how you put your enclosures together 🖤
I semi want to get one and after this video I definitely want to get one at some point! I love how you set up Jinx enclosure! I always enjoy your videos.
I had a couple of Emperor Scorpions a long time ago, watching them feed and use their mouth pinchers was pretty darn cool.
Lol we loved that part too! The little leash on the scorpion was adorable
I sometimes let my tarantulas free roam in my room, supervised,of course,I never EVER use any kind of cleaning products or pesticides in my room,so I know it’s safe.
Love your “Wednesday “ hair !! Super cute series!! Love your puppy, she’s sooo cute!!Merry Christmas!!! 🎄 🦂
That new enclosure looks so good! You're definitely the queen of enclosures!
I love scorpions. Such a new, nice enclosure for Jinx well done.
Love that enclosure!!!
Thank you so much I really needed that. I have one myself and I was wondering if I was doing things right? Your videos are so informative. Thank you so much again.
Great content 🔥
Jinx is a beautiful beastie! Lovely and chill too! You are clearly looking after her well! Friend of mine had Asian Forests but different personalities; one was chill like yours while the other was a bit less sociable so I guess you're right about them having different personalities!
🦂❣❣🦂 you always do awesomeness enclosures! 🥰🥰🥰
I now have the words 'goth lobster' going round in my head to the tune of rock lobster by the B-52s
That Scorpion gives me nostalgia...Where i'm from (Cuba) you can get them for FREE because they are VERY common in households along with Tarantulas and Brown recluse....My stepsister once ran out of the shower naked because an Emperor Scorpion decided to join her...
Great content..we tend to get spiders in the bath here in England I usually give them a towel so they can get out..but I'm beginning to see them in a different light thanks to your channel. Blessings from Devon England. 🖤🕷🕷
Omg, I'm freaking out the whole time.
Her walk is so nice 8D
Jinx: I would like to put my claws in the water. I'm done now,
Honestly this is the first i've seen a Scorpion would be this gentle, they trusts you so much!
Who would’ve thought scorpions like to keep themselves clean 😱 soooo cute!!
Jinx is incredibly beautiful!!
I like your style. Your scorpion is pretty cool and I like how you style her enclosure that’s pretty neat. I don’t think I’d mind handling a scorpion but spiders just aren’t my gig to be honest. I’m assuming that’s your living room I dig the set up it’s about how I like mine to look. Has that warm comfortable dark aesthetic setting to it I prefer and when you turn on a light it’s not so overwhelming because the colors absorb a lot of the light which makes it extra cozy. Seem like an all out cool gal, at least you seem pretty chill to me. Keep up the good vibes and also the flowers outside looked really nice through the window that’s always nice to look outside and see that. I’ll subscribe I like what I’ve seen so far your pretty all around just flat out cool.
I love my Asian forest scorpion so much!!! He is so cool and has so much character lol
You’re amazing!!!!! New to your channel today and absolutely love you and your kindness. Do you ever show your entire collections?
I actually got me four of these in a huge enclosure (~120cm x 50cm x 50cm, formerly inhabited by a bearded dragon but rebuild). One sadly passed away within a week but the other three did very well. Got babies three times within two years to a point where i wasn't completely sure how many even lived in there. Managed to seperate the small ones and sell around 10-15 of them back to the shop. Only handled the big one two times though since i had to be very careful with the amount of active scorpions running around in there. Loved to see them glow in the dark and watch them walk around.
"Goth lobster" I like that
This one is surprisingly docile, very trusting. What’s the story behind the missing leg though? First time I’ve visited the channel, so you probably get/got asked this a lot lol
life hack for keeping in humidity wit those critter keeper lids. I always put a towel on the lids, and for animals like isopods who need a lot of humidity i use plastic wrap with a few holes poked into it instead.
I owned an Emperor some years ago, learned that for scorpions the size of the pinchers vs the tail will tell you what they are going to use the most. If large claws that is their first line of defense. They will only sting when absolutely necessary because they run the risk of it getting stuck and broken off. Large stinger means bigger venom sac and it is their first line of attack and you will most likely always be stung and best to practice safe handling techniques.
Adding "Goth Lobster" to my vocabulary. I quite enjoyed this video.
Great video
I love Scorpions, but I didn’t know you could keep them as pets for the longest time! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 such a beauty and CUTIE 😍🦂
Amazing!
Scorpions are awesome creatures. They have been on our planet for a long time, far longer then humans, and have inspired our culture since it’s very beginning. They deserve a lot of respect.
Fun scorpion tales: The little library in Silver Springs NV is in the path of a scorpion migration. Signs warns people to let them wander through unmolested
This was a really cool video! I love the Wednesday series and am starting to explore the world of inverts from afar. Adam from Wickens Wicked Reptiles sent me.
That was just awesome.
I love them! Jinx looks adorable on your hand. I've always been interested in scorpions. Tarantulas are cute too. My wife would kill me if I ever even thought about having a pet one though.
Crazy that you made this video i been thinking about getting one or maybe an emperor.
my goodness!!!! she's so cute! I have always wanted scorpions! they are soooooo cool!
I love the dog! 😊🙂🐶
Really interesting! Thank you for sharing.
Picked up my first two scorpions recently, urodacus manicatus.
Absolutely inlove with them
I work from home and think it would be so cool to have one of these amazing animals on my desk to watch. :)
So good to see Jinx🥰 just got done counting my first brood. I also keep communals of Pandinus imperators (Emperor scorpions) and Heterometrus silinus (Asian forest scorpions) I absolutely 💯 recommend getting one if interested. Awesome enclosure kat!❤️
How do the communal do for you? What’s your secret lol
@@tarantulakat I keep them very well feed and that's about it. I only have had to separate one Pandinus imperator before. He was food aggressive. But one Rogue could take out a whole communal. So it's kind of a Gamble
You make the BEST enclosures ❤🍄❤🍄❤🍄I’m so impressed after watching an older episode because you’ve just grown so much from year/years passed. The whole room is staged brilliant I think..I enjoy the Mr Tarantulas appearances, just wanted you to know you’re my FAV🕸🦂🕸🕷🕸🦂
So cool! ❤
If your scorpion stings you it means you need to come back down to earth and do a little bit of wholesome screaming.
Hey Kat, hope you’re doing well today!
What a brilliant setup you’ve made for your Scorpion 😊
My partner just loves that new program about Wednesday Adams, he loves The Adam Family full stop 😂
Great video again today Kat 💚🕷️😘xxx
Jinx is such a beautiful creature!
Hey like your channel .I just got a asian forest today what is your recommendations
I just stumble upon your channel on my recommendation, so far I like it, never seen a scorpion in real life, only heard story that they are deadly but watching this change my view. You got my sub, so far now antcanada, exotic lair, and your channel caught my attention, they are interesting little creature scary but interesting
I love your videos Kat
So awesome. Where do you get the mushrooms for the setup?
Tarantula Cribs should start making front-opening reptile enclosures... I think they'd make such nice ones! 🤩
K inspiring me to watch the series!
what a beauty.
Such a cool looking scorpion.
Oh my goodness, she's so cute. I laughed too hard at "Goth Lobster" though hahahah!
"Everything T Burton has done..." Wholeheartedly agree
Loved the video she’s to adorable so cute and funny I would love to see more scorpion videos ❤️🦂
hi, i don't even have a tarantula but i ffffflove your videos! i have the same enclosure as your pink one for my spider and to open it, i usually get the latch unhooked in the middle then then lift the sides up one by one.. that seems to always work for me!
ps. your upgrade is very nice
The trick with my Black Emperors was to quickly BUT smoothly pick them up by the stinger and set them on your other hand. As long as they're not being grabbed or restrained in some way they're perfectly docile. I used to blow my friends minds letting Mr. Pinchy (yea original name right,) trundle up and down my arm waving his thumbtack sized stinger around but not showing a hint of aggression. I was the Scorpion Whisperer LOL
Awesome enclosure and animal 🦂
EDIT: Feel free to ignore the question at the end. Just watched your Jumping Spiders vs Tarantula's video and that basically answered the question.
I'd say I'd gone down the rabbit hole, but I think it's more appropriate to say I've fallen in the spider den. Surprisingly, I'm content here, so I've finally subbed. I'm still Scorpion adjacent. They're a little less interesting to me for whatever reason.
I have no intention to keep spiders, not because they bother me, but because I don't have confidence in my ability to keep them alive.
I am curious about something. You've said time and time again that Tarantulas don't tame down. That they have a very simple nervous system and they'll never "recognize" you as something that isn't a threat. That's pretty clear to me from your videos as some of your Tarantulas seem to have nothing but hatred towards the world (I still find it cute, btw).
My question is this:
In your experience, is the same true for jumping spiders? I've seen a lot of people talking them up and gushing over how smart they are. In some instances I've heard people compare them to cats. Do you think your Phidippus spiders recognize you as anything other than a threat? Do you think they're capable of something as simple as "This is a food source. No kill," or is the spider community talking them up a bit much due to a totally understandable bias?
Jinx has earned a new fan 🖤
Jinx looks awesome. I would love to see an emperor scorpion live
Heard out loud in my house at 10:52 "what a goober!" 😂😂😂
Cool to watch it explore but I'm still afraid of them.
I just found your channel and now I want to see all the little ones featured in like a pixar movie😍
I just use a regular 10 gallon and I make an acrylic top for mine which really helps keep humidity in
The way Wednesday lost her pet Scorpion in the story I thought was truly heartbreaking and it was sad seeing her younger self cry her little black heart out. Someday, I hope she gets a new Scorpion. It'd feel wholesome 🦂
Way to spoil it for other people knobhead
