PETKO I found another Dark Den subscriber at work today!!!!! I was watching the videos and I jumped when the Davis male got eaten so they asked what happened and I laughed while explaining my tarantula obsession and my co worker asked "are you watching The Dark Den " I jumped up and said YESSSSS I LOVE PETKO so I just wanted to share that because I haven't met anyone that likes to watch tarantulas n things and now I have someone to go to exhibitions and animalcon or whatever we have here in Maryland. I would put definitely a water dish just in case, you could make naturalistic resin ones if you don't like the looks, you are really handy when crafting your own stuff
eco friendly resin if that's the case why harm the earth for something as stupid as a water dish
@@egujugapupfh7543 Sure, use that if you want, but please be mindful not to consume excessive amounts of soy sauce. The production of soy sauce contributes to deforestation, as forests are cleared to make way for soybean crops.
I don't think Misting would have made any difference except maybe she could have drink some of the water that could have helped, cause the outside humidity does not effect the molting process. Even so sorry for all the losses you had.

I'm sorry for your loss, and appreciate you sharing the rough parts of owning critters of any type. Watching your videos has really expanded my view of the variety of arachnids out there, and my wish list is constantly growing lol. The widow died, but you still have her eggs. Just be sure to cover the vent holes so you don't have escaping slings
Widows actually can live for 3 years if kept in captivity, and species related to the latrodectus genus such as steatoda grossa can live for 6 years, I've had a female from a spiderling from 2017 and she's still alive.
My ex wife is now a widow ...I kept her in the garage as a means of keeping my sanity but she kept coming in though the doggy door...who knows what she did with the other guy...

The molts at @1:49 made me do a double take for a second.
Keep all black widows dry, if you want, you can put a soda cap with water in it but they don't need any misting.
So sorry you lost Bonita, my big female stirmi called Lumen acted weird also, no molt Matt laid and couldn’t stand up or flip, I helped her but took hours for her, after I quarantined her into a tub with moist kitchen roll on bottom for 5 days, I was sure she would pass but she actually made a full recovery, it’s like she didn’t know what to do or how to actually molt

Make sure whatever you put in the jungle scap just make sure nothing will predate on the other which i've seen many times people will get frogs and those Crabs and the crabs will eat the frogs if they get their little grubby claws on them just a FYI

You should setup the Widow Eggs similar to how you would for Tarantulas... just with a little less humidity.... it will give them a better chance of survival, and will be wayyyyyy easier to contain them
So petko when I first started to watch ur channel I was still kinda spooked n had no tarantulas and now I have 7 tarantulas a gbb a versi a Hapolopous sp. Columbia a Davus pentalores a avic avic and a p irminia also a harpactira pulchripes and I have so many others on my list I enjoy buying them small and growing with them

Latrodectus eggsac: You should keep it in a container with little to no ventilation holes. As long as you don’t want them to escape 😉

My t stirmi lost 4 legs.. 3 on the right 1 on the left😢 she passed about 3 months later was always on her h2o bowl barely ate sad 😢
It can leave for 30 years if you feed it once every 2 or 3 months..

The Dark Den I really enjoy your videos and content. It's very entertaining I love it. You also have a grea choice in music. I love your accent as well. Your enthusiasm is also killer it's amazing I love it. I just do have to say one thing that bothers me. You do get a little to excited and too into pairing tarantulas. It's a little cringe and weird how into you are into ts mating. The "Sexy Time" and music with it is a little too cringe
