It would be interesting if you compared the new Starlink router, and their mesh setup, against the Orbi. (And how much the difference in cost between the two.)
I have an older Orbi model 750 and the Round McDishy FlatFace. I have one satellite placed opposite side of my house. Great range and speeds. I even have cameras watching beehives, over 500 feet away.
Orbi is still the best Mesh Wi-Fi System that you can buy! Nice video!
Why is the Starlink on the ground in the yard? I thought you had an old video where you had it mounted to the roof or chimney?
My old dish died and Starlink sent me a new warranty replacement one. I haven't had a chance to go on the roof mostly because it's winter and the roof has had snow on it most of the time since I got the refurbished dish

When i got starlink i went in circles for days configuring, firmware updates, searching for other config options.
Finally sold the asus mesh and bought starlink mesh which was sub par but worked.
Rocking the Google Glass. I’m kind of surprised it still works.
Pretty much all I can do now is take pictures and video but I still really like it. I wish it could connect to the internet though
Overkill for 99% of people, just got with a 3 pack of wifi 6 mesh system. You'll easily max out what starlink can do + save $2,200.

My company has installed well over 5000 WiFi routers and access points. Orbi 7 is excellent and the previous Orbi WiFi 6 is more than adequate for your relatively low speed application. I would turn off the Starlink router WiFi and use Ethernet to Mesh the extenders. Copper is always faster than WiFi up/downlinks.
I got my 970 system the day it came out and while a few bumps and bruises its an excellent system that has let me finally get signal in my backyard. It's not great but im getting 3-400Mbps were before I got like 20. Expensive but well worth it if your a tech guy. The WiFi speeds are a bit of a phallacy though, while there good there nowhere even close to advertised
Thanks for sharing! The improvement for me was immense, even tho Starlink isn't capable of saturating the connection speed... Yet, but it's getting faster.

My only question for the Orbi is it able to have a separate connection for older devices like Nest and Ring Cameras that use older 2G? Starlink allows a separate 2G and 5G connection.
Yeah, there are multiple ways to do it, but the IoT ssid I mentioned is default set to 2.4ghz so that's what I used

Man it was a hard choice. I use my phone for videos and the cameras on the ultra line are just plain better. That and battery life. Other than that I prefer the Fold for everything else.
$2,300 for Orbi w/ 2 satellites is not cheap, and I think Starlink router comes with Starlink whether you use it or not. I do personally have an older version of Orbi, but I thought I paid a lot for it when it was $699 w/ 2 satellites... I understand the new version has support for the newer protocols etc, but really $1,600 is a lot more....
