      Ugh the plot twist was quite silly considering how flimsily it was written(not because of the theme, ony because the writing, the characters, the execution, the assassination plan etc). Quite unconvincing. Otherwise the movie would have remained a cult thriller for ages.

    For those of you who haven't seen Mumbai Police, it is the best investigation thriller made in malayalam. It has one of the most perfect screenplay I've come across and is supported by impeccable acting by the cast.
    Fun fact: The remake rights of the movie was sold a long time ago in different languages, but as of now, no actor has shown guts to play the protagonist, portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran who is at the top of his game in this film.

    • @itzme3384
      @itzme3384 Před 4 lety +10

      From my understanding, basically, it seemed like the director tried to focus on Shiva/Rudra god's 'sathi viyogam', meaning the pain he suffered when Sathi/Parvathi as Daakshayani left her body during Dakshya Yagna and that enraged Lord Shiva to summon Veerabhadra from his hair strand to demolish Daksha Yagna. Lord Shiva spent ages in anger and unable to withstand the loss of Dakshayani. Later he takes to penance and then Sathi again takes birth as Parvathi and they unite eventually.
      Anyways, point is, in all the 4 stories in the movie, the hero is never united with his Sathi (heroine). I did not understand what the hymns between each stories meant, but I could feel he was trying to show the same point, pain/ill fate. You can also look at it as a soul not being able to reach his soulmate in 4 different births and this movie focuses on the fate of that soul, always in pain/remorse/craving for his soulmate.
      It's a different story that nobody attempts these kinda movies. Huge respect and love for such script writers n directors and producers and actors, of course.
      Cheers. Peace :)

      In fact, three twists-who, why and another why -(message on the phone)-any of those twists would have made it a great movie-but all three together made it mindblowing. Another success of the movie is that usually in suspense thrillers the convict is hidden and shown in one or two scenes (think Khiladi) but in this movie, the convict is not hidden from the audience and gets plenty of scenes but practically no one guesses him out.

    You do give the best suggestions. In one of your videos you had suggested watching The Body, until then I didn’t even know there was such a film. Have to say, it was definitely an unexpected film

    I madly fell in love with sita kalyanam just the first time I heard it randomly in utube and from then onwards I kept on looking for this movie all over, asked my Tamil friends but hardly anyone knew, until finally I downloaded n watched it and it's deeply rooted in my heart... One of the best I watched ♥️

    Very nice picks and was mind blown by solo after watching it few hours ago. Check out “Memories” and “7th Day” both good Prithvi Raj thrillers.. the former being too good...
    Prithvi’s current movie “ Ayyapannum Koshiyum” which is a new Malayalam movie currently on prime about male egos clash is a treat to watch as well and the rights have allready been sold for telegu and tamil remake. Catch them if you can..

    Thanks for this.. I would also add Moothon.. a very recent Malayalam movie.. I saw many people walking out of theater in the second half and for me that was the best part :D in a good way.. shows really the mentality of people around.. well shot and good performances.. still remember “pigeon” scene between Nivin and Roshan Mathew..
