    This was my favorite video EVER! To me, these kind of hunts are the best kind of hunts. Slow paced, relaxing, up-close and personal, and in a pirogue like the old days. I hope y'all enjoy!

    From Gordon McQuarrie's short story "The Bluebills Died At Dawn"
    "If I must choose among the sports that draw me into the open, it will be duck hunting. No other sport with rod or gun holds as much of mystery and drama. The game comes out of the sky."
    Enjoy the video, many thanks.

    Those hunts with the boys with all the camaraderie and banter are great and all, but there something about those solo hunts. Just being in the marsh by yourself hits different. You really get to take it all in with no distraction and there’s nothing else like it. Solid vid brother.

    Johnny 5! I can say that it is better to have experienced the good and lose it than to have never experienced it. My area in Florida used to be absolutely amazing. Now, it is mostly empty skies. I still get to enjoy the sport by riding along with you in your solo pirogue. Solo hunting trips have been some of my best thinking time to reflect on a lot of things in life. Maybe someday things will get better here. Until then, I will be in the seat beside you, Gil.

    I can't thank you enough for making this post. We lost our duck hunting camp in cutoff to Ida and my heart is broken as all we have left are memories. This video has helped me to cherish the times with the old timers and the renewed spirit to rebuild. Keep doing what you're doing and we wish you all the best in the duck season from the Parra-Hilton in Cutoff.

    • @robinwatkins6775

      Why is this particular marsh choking?
      I ask because the marsh land is failing?

    • @fallingtidetv
      @fallingtidetv  Před 2 lety

      It’s choking because there’s a human waste facility next to it and after the waste is treated, they pump it into the swamp. This used to not be a problem for us hunters because the chemical they used was actually more harsh and it would maintain open water with less vegetation. About 10 years ago they started using a different method to treat the sewer and it’s a more environmentally friendly method. They also look at it as a way to better protect us from hurricanes being that it helps the land come back. I totally appreciate them going that route, it just really sucks that there will no longer be water here soon to hunt over.
