What a Guru He had, and what a Guru He is! He attained direct Self- realisation when just 18 years of age - a Jivanmukta who ever revelled in Ātman-Brahman, who lived amongst people only to lead them to moksha, liberation. For many, He is the very life-breath itself.

If one is a realised spiritual Master or not, can be known only by an exalted soul, rest is speculation ; with all due respect, how do we know that he was a jeevan mukhta or not ?
He was a jivanmukta because it’s been declared by his own guru, the great Sri Chandrashekara Bharati Mahaswamin, who was a great jivanmukta himself. Just read the life history of him, ‘A Saint of Sringeri’ and also the read the book ‘A Multifaceted Jivanmukta’ about Srimad Abhinava Vidhyateertha Mahaswamin, you can find the detailed story of how he attained that state with the help of his great gurus grace.
Just read about his guru that’s itself is an answer for you.

I had met him in person in Sringeri
My own guru a paramahamsa could even rise the dead when it was in the destiny of the dead one to have been revived by such a guru ; he never called himself a guru and never advised anyone unless he was asked for his advice, nor allowed anyone to touch his feet as he saw God in every one !
@@goodearth5584 meeting him in person and you have this doubt ? And also I didn’t get what you are coming say here. He is a peetadhipathi, naturally the Jagadguru title is always there to that peetham, a individual avadoota who is not bound by anything will never call him a guru that’s different, being a peetadhipati is different, but being bound to the ordained duties of mutt and also at the same time detached completely from everything and attaining self realisation at the age of 18 is what makes him unique. I think you haven’t read about him.

The Sringeri guru had programmed to facilitate a great musician in sringeri and I was asked by an organiser friend who was part of this programme to join him in this function at sringeri and unfortunately for us, just before a month of this scheduled program, the jagadguru happened to leave this world ; I have great respect and reverence for all the gurus such as the one we are discussing ; unless it is in my experience, I question every authority not out of disrespect but to satisfy myself as to the veracity or otherwise of such statements, this is what I was expressing ; all our scriptures from Upanishads to Bhagavad Gita, Shiva Purana and all else is full of debates and discussion and that is the greatness of Hindu culture ; infact, we are encouraged to ask questions before coming to any conclusion be it philosophy or otherwise ; hope you appreciate my stand point of view !
