Can you imagine? An underground coffee shop, people smoking, drinking, talking, moving about and the Moody Blues are playing in the background. Bloody hell...
I'm not sure the audience realized what they were experiencing. It was a studio quality performance of a classic that will endure for many, many years.
Yes, I see the image clearly and distinctly before me. In 1970 I was 22 years old and lived in Amsterdam. And although all kinds of changes began to take place, both musically and culturally, such as a whole row of bands falling apart, a lot of new and good things took their place.
Me too! Turned 68 on Easter Sunday! MB's have always been the _hippest_ rock artists to always display exemplary stage presence as _Gentlemen_. I'm truly grateful.

Everybody thinks that they are the center of attention 🤪I go to very few concerts anymore 😟 I miss 60’s and 70’s. People sat still and LISTENED TO THE SONG. It was great.
I love the Moody Blues and lots of the Great Prog rock bands of my teen years. There are some more current bands that carry on that kind of quality arrangement. Check out Symphonic Metal. Nightwish live with the current lead singer Floor Jansen. The orchestra and choirs are there, but on their London Orchestra/Choir pre-recorded backing tracks and keyboards.
I am just grateful I grew up with this music. I am 68 and still trying to discover new music every week. But no one seems interested in making music like this anymore. Don't get me wrong I discovered amazing new artists over the years, but the Moody Blues remain something very special.
These Moody Blues songs are all delivered by the unique, if not haunting tones of Justin"s excellent melodic voice. These tunes are still relevant, fifty years hence.
I have always loved the Moody Blues. Dealing with Stage 4 cancer, etc. is very scary and painful. Looking forward to going to Heaven. In Heaven I will no longer have any more pain. Lori Banaszak/Haley/Zimmermann.
I could tell you without a doubt that the music of the mid 1960's ('65 to '69) and 1970's, has to be the two greatest decades of music. I'm glad that I was born when this music first came out. Music today ( if you could call it that) can not compare to the music of 60's and 70's. No way near.

1970. I was 19. Spent it in a river in Vietnam. I was a Navy trained salvage diver looking for chopper filled with new in-country G.I.s We found the chopper, actually stumbled into it, pitch black water. I knew they were new because they all had seat belts on. Thank God we didn't have to go looking & stumble into each one. This song gives me goose bumps & memories. Over 500 guys were killed on their first damn day! How does one explain that to a mother?

Driving my car I just heard this beautiful song back after a long time ... Being 58 now even I remember it being played very much on the radio back in the time ... Such beautiful memories!!!!
One morning back in 1977 while driving across the Oakland Bay Bridge, heading into San Francisco for work, this song came on the radio. The sun had just started to rise and reflected off the windows in the skyscrapers. Crystal clear day, not a cloud in the sky. Then it hit me. It was a Tuesday. Not afternoon yet, but definitely a Tuesday. I can't begin to describe the feeling that came over me. Kind of a rush at first, and then for whatever reason, I became extremely melancholy. 35+ years later, the memory is as fresh as if it had just happened yesterday. Such a beautiful song! Thank you for posting!!!

The rock hall of fame is a joke. Like Gene Zimmons says rap has nothing to do with rock except to illegally sample great rock songs. Why did it take so damn long for KISS, the Moody Blues and Linda Ronstadt so long to get inducted? The originators only picked acts they worked with.

My 16 year old brother introduced me to the Moody Blues and so many other great bands and artists - I adored him, wanted to be just like him, 4 years later he was gone. Cancer sucks! I've missed him every day for 50 yeats now! Glad I can still connect with him through great music
This gentle song played in my head while I wheeled along Black Hawk Trail on my father's Peugeot ten speed. Sunlight strobed through the dogwood trees, flickering in my peripheral vision, making my eyelids twitch. The farmlands around me were green, and it looked like Tuesday. It's the day you want it to be.
Don Bagley Great Comment man, you really painted a picture for us. It's funny how a song and a moment can come together for us and really set a special memory that only ourselves enjoy in our minds.
Don Bagley Love the way you described that scene, it fits so perfectly with the song. When I hear this song I think of green forested mountains and the joy of freedom on a Tuesday afternoon........and the people who get to enjoy both.
I'm 73. This takes me back to my college days...250 miles from home, no car, no computers, no phone....just a turntable and these albums. Perfection.

I love this song. It's one of the best songs ever written.
Thanks Moody Blues for making some of the best sounds of all time!
Off the coast of Nam Moody Blues songs made me feel alive. Took me away from it all.
I was introduced to them in the 70's when I was 15. I listened to an album over and over again. Fell in love with this band immediately. As a pre-teen I had heard a few songs on my Dad's AM radio in his car. I really didnt put 2 and 2 together. I'm 62 now and will love it forever!
Days of Future Past is the greatest album ever put out. The sixties and seventies are 2 decades of music that will never be bested.
Justin Hayward , most Emblematic voice of the 60,s playing a guitar held to him with a piece of string ! A Real and Great Musician .... liquid Gold is the Moodies !

A very poetic way of describing your forever moment! Thanx for sharing!
Don Bagley A little long winded much!
Dan Da Man one paragraph?
Don Bagley Great Comment man, you really painted a picture for us. It's funny how a song and a moment can come together for us and really set a special memory that only ourselves enjoy in our minds.
Don Bagley Love the way you described that scene, it fits so perfectly with the song. When I hear this song I think of green forested mountains and the joy of freedom on a Tuesday afternoon........and the people who get to enjoy both.
