Today we're checking out the ASUS VivoBook 16X. This Windows 11 laptop offers a really strong all-round value package. From the 16” display, 12th gen Intel Core i5, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD, excellent ASUS ErgoSense keyboard and touchpad, in a sharp looking design that comes in at an attractive price. Great if you’re a student, business professional, or even content creator. Today I’m going to share my experience using the VivoBook 16X as my main computer over the past weeks and cover everything you need to know. Let's take a closer look at the design. First, for a 16” laptop, the VivoBook 16X is surprisingly lightweight and thin. It has a nice tapering design on the side and comes in at 1.8 KG (4 pounds). For a plastic built, it still feels solid in the hand with only minimal keyboard flex. Ports: USB 3.2 Type C, two USB 3.2, HDMI, USB 2.0, headphone/mic and power. When I started using this laptop I quickly fell in love with the keyboard and touchpad. Has a full-size ASUS ErgoSense keyboard, as well as a NumberPad - great for productivity. The keys are stable, with plenty of key travel and have a satisfying click, it is also fully backlit. The touchpad is smooth to scroll on, click and drag. Also the top case area, features ASUS’s Antibacterial Guard to protect against harmful bacteria. The built in speakers are reasonably loud, good for Zoom conferencing but for things like music and movies the clarity and depth leaves room for improvement. Above the display sits the 720p webcam, which will get the job done, with accurate skin tones even in lower light conditions. I like the built-in webcam cover for instant privacy. Now let’s talk about my favourite feature of the VivoBook 16X and that is the display. Comes with 16” full HD LED display. I like the 16:10 aspect ratio, slightly taller than the typical 16:9 ratio, giving more vertical screen space. Ideal for productivity. Display folds all the way flat. Anti glare coating on the display does well at blocking out the worst of reflections and combined with the 600 nits of brightness, it is clear and bright enough for any indoor setting. Colours also look great, far better compared to other Windows laptops I’ve tried in this price range. What about performance? Intel Core i5 processor with IRIS Graphics, 16GB DDR4 Ram, and 512GB PCIE SSD equate to solid performance. Minecraft runs well, with render distance set to 23 I got around 60 to 90 FPS. While gaming the 16X never got uncomfortably hot thanks to ASUS’s IceCool. Editing photos in Lightroom, things feel quite snappy, as long as you’re not working with too many layers. For day to day mixed productivity tasks, the 16X really shines, with around 7 or so apps open, switching between documents, emails, watching videos - the VivoBook 16X keeps up well and performs above its weight class - providing a smooth experience. In terms of battery, in my use the battery life has been just above average, I got around 5-7 hrs of productivity use, with more heavy tasks this goes down to 3-4 hours, not uncommon for laptops with larger displays. At the end of the day, who is the ASUS VivoBook 16X for? If you are looking for a well priced, solid all-round Windows 11 laptop for productivity tasks, content creation, content consumption and even some gaming, the ASUS VivoBook 16X is one I can definitely recommend!

Great video as usual! I love how the laptop has a retro style. With this strong spec of a laptop, this for me sounds like a sleeper. The outside looks like a modern regular look of a laptop but then when you open it, you see this retro look on the screen and keyboard, which looks great for me but then when you look at the specs, you can have a fairly decen performance, yeah.. a sleeper. Keep making these great videos Dion.

I have the ASUS vivobook flip 14 and I absolutely love it. If I got another laptop It would probably also be an ASUS. Also I'm so glad all the models have the keyboard lit it has made my life so much easier especially since you can adjust the brightness of the light. And I absolutely love that when you restart it or shut it down you don't have too sign in again before you're able to use the fingerprint, it just makes life so much easier. Also I am soo glad I got the flip because having this brand as a tablet and computer is just so crazy. If anyone is looking for a laptop you should definitely look into an ASUS
Wow this is long TL;DR I adore this brand 😂

I've owned this laptop now for about 5 months, and it's been an absolute beast, (AMD 16GB version) the value for money is really good. Performance is good, it's quiet (basically no fan noise).... the build quality is good, it doesn't look like it's gonna fall apart. The keyboard / trackpad are nice.... the thermals are great, of course if you run intensive tasks etc it will heat up slightly, but nothing out of the ordinary. The display is also good, i'd advice calibrating it to your tastes though as it does have a slight orange hue, but easily calibrated to colder settings via windows calibration. The screen is Matte, so no stupid glare or reflection.
For general use, and mild gaming it's perfect, and the value for money puts a lot of other big brands to shame. In addition the charging port is on the right hand side, which is useful of course if you use the laptop in bed and only have right hand side plugs etc, so no weird cable tangling. The battery is awesome, lasts a long time, and charges quickly.
The laptop is quite heavy, but nothing crazy. There is no USB-C port which supports power delivery on this model, but the barrel charger is more than good enough if the laptop is mostly going to be used in one location.
Big fan of ASUS now - I'm converted (Hopefully never touching DELL ever again!) if you want something which is good value for money, does the job efficiently... and will last a long time - definitely have a look at this 👍

Silver has positive health effects including strong antibacterial and antiviral effects. You have been mislead. Silver has been used for many centuries and so far no-one has died from it. Remember the adage "they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth"? That saying was not about wealth, it was about health! Normally a silver spoon was bought by the godparents as part of their duties to look after the child.

    16.0-inch, WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 16:10 aspect ratio, IPS-level Panel, LED Backlit, 60Hz refresh rate, 300nits, 45% NTSC color gamut, Anti-glare display, Non-touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)86%

This is perfect for me. I was looking at budget gaming laptops but they all seem to get pretty hot and i'm just a casual gamer anyway ... not really wishing to play the latest AAA titles and i fully know there are thousands of great games out there i could easily play on this thing, although the one i'm looking at locally has a ryzen 7 5800H and a Radeon Vega 7 integrated graphics. I've recently been told that high temperatures tends to shorten the lifespan of a laptop, and i want my next purchase to last a good few years and so i started looking at 'all-rounder' laptops like this with integrated graphics. This laptop seems to have alot of praise. A little outdated now but i think it'll suit me fine. I might just go and buy it tomorrow.

And true to my word i did indeed go and buy it today. It was pricey though at £850, but i'm happy because it was the one i really kinda wanted. Damn i missed a bargain though ... there was a lenovo or vivobook at £450 with a ryzen 7 (not the 5800H) 8gb ram and vega 7 graphics and a 512gb SSD, ... heck with another stick of ram that would've been a good cheap alternative. So anyway i paid over the odds somewhat but got the perfect laptop for me i think. I very nearly bought a Nitro 5 with a Ryzen 5 and RTX360 for about the same price but no, i decided to go with nice cool temps.

@@hardywatkins7737 it's so good isn't it, the AMD version is so nice. Literally no complaints from me, lovely laptop.

@@lukej452 The only thing i really don't like is that it has Alexa built-in ... i could've done without that nonsense and i wish i'd known. My other complaints are to do with windows 11 ... the widgets (more nonsense) and a crazy, totally crappy right click menue. I also don't like having microsoft edge forced on me (it's tricky to get rid of) and don't like having 'bing' forced on me either .
I like the laptop though ... the 60hz screen is really nice and clear and sharp, i like the grey metallic clean design of the laptop. The keys are a bit squishy though. Keypad is too large for my liking (i disabled it anyway ... i always use a mouse). Of course the Ryzen 7 and 16 gig of ram you can't go wrong, the vega 7 is impressive but it is the main bottleneck nonetheless with gaming ... but then this isn't a gaming laptop, ... it's still a great integrated graphics though.
All in all i'm pleased with it.

Best is to do this slowly, during the night for example. Fast charging can go in less than an hour from “low” to 60%
