Making this war hammer has been soo much work, but I also think it's so much worth it! First project of this kind for me, involved many of the craft I love: 3D modeling and printing, aluminum cast, forging, lathe work both wood and metal, leatherworking and a lot of general fabrication and figuring things out. What a journey! I hope you enjoy watching! ❤️
I usually write a very detailed list of product used and operation but this time it's just too much, it would exceed the description limit for sure. So I will write the main steps instead, if you have specific questions I'll do my best to reply.
0:20 Pattern made in Fusion360 and 3D printed in PLA
0:45 Making the mold with petrobond sand (specific metal cast sand)
1:52 Wood core, on the smaller pattern I made a better one with plaster
5:47 Cleaning the cast
7:23 Forge spikes
9:13 Threading spikes
9:40 Paint and texture on the head
10:30 Making a stainless steel plate for the font of the hammer
12:42 Wood for the handle
13:12 Turned in two piece to make it long as I want it
15:20 On the metal lathe I make a collar for the two handle parts and a bottom piece in mild steel
21:50 Leather strips are cut to size, beveled and textured
I just started to list some of the stuff I use for my projects in this amazon storefront:

Same here ya boi sad

Ask Marvel if they need some help for the next Thor movie.
The woman Thor.
Well said seriously very good one
Vlad what if they need to fake hurt someone with those spikes xD
Shit any movie with craftsmanship! Dude is an artist.
Vlad styrofoam
Take that to a convention and you're going to be either arrested or loved. That thing looks killer!
The Last Knight, well you see. That’s the problem.
Most likely both.
@@jeddcurtis6415 1111
I cannot imagine anyone actually calling the cops on you for this thing unless you started swinging on people lol. Especially at a convention.
I don't think they would allow it at a convention. In my experience anything that has potential to actually be used to hurt someone could end up doing so accidentally, seeing as a lot of conventions are pretty crowded.
Might be different in different areas than myself but this is my experience with them.
It would be really interesting to know just how long it took from start to finish on your projects. Could you start telling us in the comments how long each project takes? Great video - keep them coming.
Can you imagine the poor archiologist that find this in a few thousand years.... 'It must be a religious or ritual artifact'
Then some randon guy find the video and the archiologist see and think " god damn, i'll quit, i will work in a shop "
It’s aluminium. It won’t last a few thousand year.
Imagine earth not bieng alive more than 500 years or even for shorter than that like 30
hallobre it would last for sure that much mass wouldn’t erode all of it but it definitely wouldn’t look the same
@@hallobre Aluminium will. It wont corode
Dude, you're doing some great machining here, good to see that type of complete production of a weapon! You've got some amazing skills.
Love Black Beards video's no crap music blaring no long drawn out intros just straight to the project , if only more videos were like his.
This dude is so clever! I literally have no idea where he’s going with some things until the very last minute that the milestone is complete! Always keeping me intrigued! Nice work, man
This is a war hammer not a cleaver
He meant clever I think
I was hoping he'd use this thing on a watermelon, like some sort of medieval Gallagher.
Yeah, I was hoping that too lol 😂
Liam or Noel?
@@popefang as in the old stand-up comic from the 70s and 80s who'd bring a sledgehammer on stage, and smash food with it, and send it flying into the audience. I'm surprised nobody ever lost an eye.
The sledge-o-matic goes medieval
I always described my dad as a cross between Chevy Chase and Gallagher...corny and goofy, but it made for interesting emails. Lol
This one had it all, from casting, turning, milling to woodworking and leatherworking...
Great!
:-D
This is blowing my mind!
I noticed that wrench too.
Catch it quick!!
That’s what people said when this hammer hit their head
YOURS TOO AL I CAN BUILD IS LEGGO BOAT SMH IM NOT A MAN LOL 😩😠😠
@Harlem Roy naw I think we pretty good here 👍🏽

Normal People: Going crazy in quarantine
This guy: Hold my war hammer
As a piece of art, that was really, really cool. You showed off a lot of various skills in that one that made it very interesting to watch, also. Great work!
Dude this is awesome... I'm a second year Metalcasting Technology major... Great job on you gating design!!...the open top rise really helps eliminate shrink in such large casting.
I love the fact you show the failures too!! I love the process as well the end effect. Thank you. Still those holes behind the main head would bother me. It looks cheap. Also the downsizing.
Awesome! I cringed when the first mild collapsed... but you stick with it man! So inspiring. You always find a way to make kick ass stuff.

Damn man, that was truly badass looking. Your channel is one I look forward to because you seem passionate about it and the things you make are always awesome.

@@BlackBeardProjects how are you doing
Another fun project, very well done. I wish I was even 1/4 as clever and skilled as you. Great job.
That's the most processes I've seen on CZcams for one project. Well done
you really do a great job.
in my last video I also integrated my failure, it's part of the job.
on the other hand I am French and there is no translation available, too bad.
thank you for all your videos.
translation? o.o he havent spoke a word, and english is easy to understand nowadays isnt it? No offense
Amazing to have many abilities! I am a metal craft CZcamsr in Korea and I think you are great at your ability. awsome!👍
Terrifying to think how long that must have taken 😳 amazing work!
That came out amazing, genius procedure and execution. Turned out beautifully.
At the 11:42 mark it looks like the appearance of one of Hand Tool Rescue’s 1879 wrenches...or maybe an original?
Original Hand Tool Rescue!
WONDERFUL BBP!!! Great work. Thank you for the upload.
That thing is awesome. The only thing is my OCD is screaming about the unevenly spaced leather wraps lol
Also when casting a big weapon like a maul or hammer use brass or bronze if available. They hold their shape during the cooling process
2:32 that poor poor bucket also, I really love how you used that dirt hole method it's always satisfying for me and I really love the actual hammer itself and how perfectly it was made. To me it's just a beautiful build 🙂 I really love it and.. good craftsmanship sir. Also at 6:32 i don't know what happened to my eyes but something definitely happened to them.
First I saw the 3D printer and thought: another plastic toy...
But when you prepared the form for sand casting I continued watching ;)
Its aluminum, it is a toy.
This fu***in AMAZING! VERY nice work Bro, very nice!!😎💪💪
Thanks man 🔥
Anyone else still getting use to the comments being in a different place? I love watching Black Beard Projects! Wish I could make stuff like he does but I don’t have the equipment.
Imagine bringing this out at a family dinner to tenderize some meat! Impress the whole family and possibly scare some cousins into returning loaned tools!
12:10 Hand Tool Rescue's adjustable wrench!! 😍
I don’t usually like videos like this, but I find your work very interesting. Keep up the good work. God bless
So many different processes went into this build. Very cool!
I was a little worried when I saw the 3D printer at the start, but this turned out really cool!
This man it’s a Viking, good luck entering valhalla xD
If you spray the sand with hairspray and let it dry it will hold in place perfectly until you pour the molten aluminum.
true craftsmanship with a abundance of skill sets, good job very impressed!
Damn dude, what an awesome hammer! I am sure, you would survive the next zombie apocalypse 😂 a lot of work, looks really great!
n e x t ?
For me, this is the best kind of project you do; one that enables you to show your masterful level of skill in so many different disciplines. It is testament to your ability that in three years, somehow your videos have continuously improved. Well done, Sir, and thank you for sharing your work.
Thanks my friend :) Have you noticed the badge near your name? Or I'm the only one that sees it?
Hello my friend. I hope you are safe and well. I don't see a badge near my name; perhaps it's just something for your reference?
Pretty cool seeing the weapon I use coming to life!
Excelente trabajo amigo, eres muy detallista !! Me paso horas viendo tus videos. Honor a quien honor merece...
Does anyone know if the noise from him compacting the dirt has a name, I find it really satisfying but don’t know what to look up

Fantastic job. It's been fun to watch you develope your talents!
Its a beautiful war hammer! When i first saw him making those spikes i thought he was just trying different sizes, but no hes using both the big ones and small ones!
Awesome job man!
..
Burglar: "You don't keep any guns in this house, do you?"
Me: (grabbing hammer) "You &@%$ing wish."
Gun would still be better. Besides that hammer wouldnt be good in any real combat setting
@@anonymous5t565 it's just a joke.
@@rikkilleen3169 I understand. But some people actually think this is more effective as self defense than a gun. That's like going around your town in a tank, sure it's big, does a lot of damage, and is cool. But its not practical in most average situations
If you were to make this again would it be easier to cast the head part as say a solid block without the ornamentation on it and then go in and inlay it or recess it with a dremel tool? Either way it looks badass!
I am favorably impressed; especially since you filmed [and showed] your mistake. May you enjoy the fruits of your labour.
“Oh that is cool”
Casually makes a warhammer
Imagine breaking into his house and seeing him pull this out in defence.
These types of jobs are what I would like to be able to do .. I would really like to have the dexterity, the skill and the creativity to create this type of thing..
Really awesome bro! 😎👍🏼🍺
You could totally make this into a multi-episode build like Alec Steele an Will Stelter do! 10/10 would watch!
Rocket, "What, so are we going to hit Thanos with a brick?"
Eitri, "It's a mold. A weapon made for the King of Asgard. In theory, it can summon the Bifrost Bridge."
Rocket, "Does it have a name?"
Eitri, "Heartbreaker."
Rocket, "Kinda over doing it."
OMG !🤯🤘
This is professional work ♥
telling myself the last season pass i bought went to you keep it up mate XD
This guy literally can do it all i want to be like him when i grow up
You're literally 27 years old.
Almost turned it off when I seen the wood hammer, then the sandcasting equipment came out.. oh Yeah
Yes, the carved wooden hammer that went into the sand.
3d printed plastic
this is the craftsman you go to once your max level and need to slay an entire army of orcs singlehandedly
Man that incredible work, congratulations, I just lacked a sharp point at the end of the cable. How long did the whole process take including the steps you didn't show, like making all the thorns?
That was bad-ass, you are so talented, I especially enjoyed the fact that you left the sounds there (they were kinda funny sometimes sped up like that 😋) and didn't add some corny "music" track, thank you!, 26 minutes NOT wasted! 🤓👌💥💝🥓

How awesome! Crazy to see a weapon i'm used to playing ingame crafted in real life, love it 😀
Absolute epic hammer. The only thing i complain is about the 2 pieces handle, but even with that is EPIC

It takes a LEGEND to make such a work of art
On this Viedos I liked most, that you showed failure as well!
Also the advertisment for the game was kinda justified :D
Thank you for this!
Good point about the ad, I noticed the same. I can never watch these normally, but it was justified and delivered well.
That hammer just looks like a statue

Ha I never thought I'd Meet you here
HI TysyTube!!! :DDDD
Hi
stunning buddy! just stunning. love it so much, where did you got that idea to make this?
Man, I love all your's projects. I wish do the same thing on my house, but unfortunately I'm disabled right now because of my Lower back problems. Good job. God Bless you my Brother. ❤

I've always wanted a spiked warhammer like this. Someday I'll have one made for me.
haha, I thought I had a tiny planer, but that one is adorable! :D
All I keep thinking when watching this is, "that's it I'm getting me mallet"
Know that reference! XD
Yes yes, but can it cut a tomato?
Yo man, i just stumbled onto your video, and WOW. The work you do is really AMAZING. Keep it up. You are a boss!!!!!!!

How could this happen to me
I made my mistakes
You should make the two separate covers and then the nails with tig is more stable and you do not make the mistake or the other option is to carve it with a mini-screw from an aluminum block
the way you make this reminds me of the Cosplay making, awesome work
"......whosoever holds this hammer...."
making weapon like that in molders require to have the Furness that is melting the steel close to molder so when you open the door to free the melting steel it will be like water in the hole and it will cover all the inside with no problem
Holy shit, this was fun and amazing to watch. This is the first video I've seen by this guy and I'm extremely impressed. I will certainly be subscribing to this channel.
