Making this war hammer has been soo much work, but I also think it's so much worth it! First project of this kind for me, involved many of the craft I love: 3D modeling and printing, aluminum cast, forging, lathe work both wood and metal, leatherworking and a lot of general fabrication and figuring things out. What a journey! I hope you enjoy watching! ❤️
I usually write a very detailed list of product used and operation but this time it's just too much, it would exceed the description limit for sure. So I will write the main steps instead, if you have specific questions I'll do my best to reply.
0:20 Pattern made in Fusion360 and 3D printed in PLA
0:45 Making the mold with petrobond sand (specific metal cast sand)
1:52 Wood core, on the smaller pattern I made a better one with plaster
    5:47 Cleaning the cast
    7:23 Forge spikes
    9:13 Threading spikes
9:40 Paint and texture on the head
10:30 Making a stainless steel plate for the font of the hammer
    12:42 Wood for the handle
13:12 Turned in two piece to make it long as I want it
15:20 On the metal lathe I make a collar for the two handle parts and a bottom piece in mild steel
21:50 Leather strips are cut to size, beveled and textured
I just started to list some of the stuff I use for my projects in this amazon storefront:
    www.amazon.com/shop/blackbear...
It's affiliate marketing, so if you order something from here you'll help the channel for free! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for watching, I hope you liked the video!

I don't think they would allow it at a convention. In my experience anything that has potential to actually be used to hurt someone could end up doing so accidentally, seeing as a lot of conventions are pretty crowded.
Might be different in different areas than myself but this is my experience with them.

You should make the two separate covers and then the nails with tig is more stable and you do not make the mistake or the other option is to carve it with a mini-screw from an aluminum block

making weapon like that in molders require to have the Furness that is melting the steel close to molder so when you open the door to free the melting steel it will be like water in the hole and it will cover all the inside with no problem
