El Cheapo LS Fuel System Install - Plus C10 gets an Interior on a 71 C10

  • I've been thrashing hard on the C10 lately! All of a sudden it seems like this truck is almost finished. I've never done a "cheap" efi fuel pump retro fitted into a stock tank, so fingers crossed it works. I used an Ebay in tank fuel pump and simply clamped it to the factory sending unit. A few fuel injection clamps and some hose later it was all hooked together. I still have to pressure test my lines, but I'm pretty confident. I also managed to get most of the C10's interior back together. I transferred over the door panel and glass to the new door, pressure washed the carpet and re-installed the bench seat. Starting to look like a truck again! Seems like I'll be tackling the wiring next! Stay Tuned!

    Last thing you said is the part that makes it a roller. Once it goes in an out the door, you can drive out to halfass's place and make the t body a roller. Since this has glass you will last longer outside with it unless you rape it around the light pole getting into drifting in a short side... I used to blast this old 56 caddy convertible that really nothing but paint wouldn't fix, even the top was tight with a glass back window was in it but damn off the side of guard rails was a blast. Couldn't kill car and we filled the back seat with empties. I get in my 56 short stepside factory with a rear broken brake line and go bout five miles and do a loop de loop and nail a tree sober. Pissed me off bad as I was driving careful and slow and crash dead 56

    The fuel system should work fine, I used an external Walbro pump for my '65 GTO when I put a FITech on it. I used the carb feed for the return and ran the high pressure 3/8 down the passenger side. The in cab tank makes it all real short and easy. When I do my '76 C10 I will probably do an in tank pump like you did on this one. Makes things easier if you can fit it through the sender hole. Wasn't enough room on the '65, the sender is real short.
    Might seem boring compared to the T, but the C10 a cool project in its own right. Keep going on it.

    • @DDSpeedShop

      yeah its just all the tedious stuff on the truck thats kinda boring. the T was a nice break

    • @SweatyFatGuy
      @SweatyFatGuy Před 4 lety

      @@DDSpeedShop Over the 5 years it I was doing the '65 GTO, I took a year off in the middle of it, and months at a time while I was working solely on it. Was about 3 years total doing the frame off and repairing massive rust. Life soaked up another year, then 4 more years before I got it legal to drive. Divorce sucks the wind right out of ya. Had to build my shop to finish it and other projects, she got the shop I did the GTO in.
      You have to take a break, go do something else, have fun, rekindle that burning desire to build something, because otherwise you get burned out and just quit. After welding and grinding for months at a time, I painted three other vehicles, and built two engines and transmissions, just so I could get a different kind of dirt under my nails.
      Doing the creative fun stuff recharges you to then blast through the boring tedious crap. At least it does for me.
