What do you get when you mix Haley Reinhart, Myles Kennedy and Slash in an acoustic performance? A pretty great collaboration and a unique interpretation of a frequently covered song.
For today’s video Haley teams up with Myles and Slash for a live, televised birthday celebration for Muhammed Ali’s 70th birthday.
The trio covers the Rolling Stones’ tune “Wild Horses” in one of the better renditions I’ve heard of the classic song.
First released in 1971, the song made it to number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has gone on to be ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest songs of all time.
In addition to Reinhart’s version, the song has been covered by numerous well known artists including Guns N Roses, Dave Matthews, The Black Crowes, Elvis Costello, Chris Cornell and many others.
Myles and Haley do a great job of harmonizing together and Slash provides some great accompaniment of his own. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the video!

Yeah Myles sounds exactly like Chris at the end of the song Find the Real but he's got a lot of Jeff Buckley influence in his Mayfield Four stuff.

I’ve always thought he was a good mix of Buckley and Cornell. Some of the belting he does on “Loose Cannon” by Mayfield Four sound a lot like Chris Cornell!

I absolutely love her voice. Definitely one of the best singers out today. She can do so many things with her voice, yet her control/technique is insane. Gotta do some reactions to more of her live stuff. (Also if you have a chance to see her live, you wont regret it. She generally puts on a funk/soul/rock and roll show (she's a rocker at heart)

Myles is a wonderful singer. Before Slash returned to GNR, he did a very good job with GNR material, which are not easy to do. Axl (love him or hate him) is one of the greatest singers in rock n roll. Just listen to Locomotive, how he can go from low to falsetto. (I suggested a long time ago for you Ken to do that particular song, because is a hard song hehe, maybe one day you get to do it)

Myles is the best male singer of his generation; and I believe he gets better with time, which is rare. He’s one of those singers that can pull emotions out of you on a regular basis. Haley is bloody awesome as well.

I heard that Slash and Perla came round and picked her up to ride to the event with them. Also that Cheryl Crow thought she'd be good with Myles and Slash, and that's how it came to be. They did one run through as practice and that was that. Haley was just a kid back then, so star struck, so excited to sing in an event like this. She has developed her voice over the years and really is one of the best female vocalists in her cohort now.

You were spot on with your analysis Ken. You were saying things as I was thinking them. I'm a huge Stones fan and Faces and Rod Stewart. This gave me all those vibes and more. I feel the same. I am glad I am not the only one. My only complaint about this performance is that she overpowered him a bit. Myles' voice is so powerful, but here he shows vocal restraint because it is an acoustic performance.

I abosolutely adore this cover. Slash was the one that made me pick up the guitar, and he introduced me to Myles who is an amazing singer.
I got introduced to Haley Reinhart through that cover she did of "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" and I love her rendition. So when I saw this the first time, I was super excited.
Another reason why I love Slash is that he seems to just play with whoever wants to play with him, he doesn't really seem to care if it's a jazz singer or a pop singer or a rock singer.
Ex: I think some of the best live work Fergie ever did was when she was rocking out with Slash on 70s tunes..
