  • Full day of no cool calls, as well as some repairs (that didn’t get completed)
    Call 1: estimate for system repairs vs replacement. Broke down the options for the customer and they approved the repairs of cleaning blower and coil going forward.
    Call 2 : anticipated replacing TXV but upon thinking about the diagnosis on the drive over, thought it was best to look deeper into the problem and the route cause! Did not replace TXV but did inform customer to call if issue irises! It’s been 5 days no repeat issues 👍🏻
    Call 3: system was not cooling, immediately found coil was frozen 🤦🏼‍♂️ was unable to locate where the leak may have been! System was only 6 years old but out of warranty tue to not being original owners. Customer opted to gas and go at this time.
    Call 4: customer had did RTU fielder causing the coil to freeze partially and not cool! All good after departure.
    Call 5: 🫡 one of our nations veterans, has had issues in past with the thermostat and opted to not replace previously! Decided to on this one.
    Call 6: customer’s expectations were way to high on the 4th of July. While doing laundry using the dryer and cooking using the oven inside, was unable to get temp below 77 prior to bed. With the extreme conditions of the day and the circumstances of the house direction age of system and lack of insulation, system performed at its best!
    STAY TUBED FOR MORE ON LAST CALL AND WHY THE CUSTOMER WAS WRONG

    I’m averaging 7-9 calls a day ! Maybe 1-3 systems a day . Only because I fix everything I can . Working at a over 400 tech company and suggest all your videos to our younger guys . I say younger and in 40 but you know what I mean .

      T6's and T4's sucks....Honeywell should just cut their losses with those things and focus on their other designs and quality control.
      I'm a fan of the 'old' 5000 they brought back and the 8000's for WiFi/Programmable.

    Question about the flooded drain pipe. If the txv closed because it read too cold, wouldn't that restrict the liquid and make the superheat go way up and therefore no liquid to the compressor?

    • @KoolinwithKrauss
      @KoolinwithKrauss  Před rokem

      Nah your right! on the function of it!! I think it was just opening and closing so much, and I recall a previous visit where there was no superheat registered and made me think of txv

    Gee..mabee if the hansterwheel wasn't full of dust and dirt..you might get a bit better air flow..but that coil looked like oil..so I may well be leaking..that's gonna be expensive

The new owners are great they’ve changed a lot for the better just working long hours and busy . Overall it’s been great but this heat is horrible .

      @@KoolinwithKrauss next time get all your air probes out and run measurequick and just show her here are the performance reports and if it’s spot on for the capacity of the unit it all looks good. If we are dealing with a intermittent issue just let me know and we won’t charge another diagnosis if it stops working again. Pretty much everyone is ok with it

      @@KoolinwithKraussI run into that a lot. The zip tie may be enough but I usually wrap the thing in a little black tape or cut a strap and mount it higher. Those carriers can use huge caps. I think some are like 80/5.

    • @KoolinwithKrauss
      @KoolinwithKrauss  Před 11 měsíci

      @@Dogdickdale they do pack the big caps in the carriers for sure! A metal strap would’ve been a better option
