  • Bradley writes tourist guides mostly about Asia, but this time he is working on a very special project, retracing the route Marco Polo took from Venice over 750 years ago, happy with any transport he can get, always going East, along the great Silk Road. He’s been on the road for over a few months, and has now made it to Afghanistan. Starting in the city of Herat, he sees the ancient citadel, which dates back to Alexander the Great. He makes his way to Badakshan in search of the world’s oldest Lapis Lazuli mines , before hitching a ride to China, where he sees one of the oldest parts of the Great Wall.

It's an old documentary. The host can't sit so close to the woman in today's regime.

Typically blind British historiography. No mention of the British attempt to seize Afghanistan? Ugh. Tell the truth!
