  • Buckfast Abbey, Devon: 12-bells, 41-1-3cwt in C.
Rung by the Wednesday Evening Ringers Association: Saturday 22nd April 2023.
Footage shows the winning test piece by The Wednesday Evening Ringers Association competing in the 2023 Devon 10-Bell Call-Change striking contest for the "John Scott" Trophy. The test piece comprises 40 call-changes to be rung in no less than 10 minutes.
Buckfast Abbey bells are a 1935 Taylor vintage. Although somewhat "mushy" and acoustically indistinct in the ringing chamber; outside the sound is glorious and most certainly worth a visit!

Wow they won 😃 I've never won a bellringing competition before. except I came 4th at Ideford 4 years ago wich is good number buy we only rang a 7 minute round peal because my rise and lowering wasn't the best back then it would have been an awful rise and lower because I was still learning a bit back then. i was on the tenor and Tony Jeffrey was on the treble. and if it was on 8 bells and 10 bells and I had to rise and lower back then I don't think that wouldn't have been a very good idea 🤣😂 because bellringing is tricky
