    not all RBCs will sickle in patients at the same time, so despite the crisis, there are STILL some RBCs that will remain normal. By increasing the Oxygen concentration in the alveoli (giving higher concentration of O2), you are increasing the delivery of O2 via those RBCs. And yes, tending to circulatory needs is important but increasing the oxygen is quick and easy. Circulation will take time so give o2 first and than fluid .
