I'm in Montgomery,AL and that is exactly what they do. I just got done paying a couple of thousand dollars last year from back from 2009. It just kept adding up. It was obscene. I lost my license because I couldn't afford to pay. I'm a disabled single mother but I finally paid enough to get my license back.

No, they would ticket the poor who can't afford to fight tickets, which is already what they do. Wanda is just explaining something that has been happening for decades.
Ticketing a rich person might mean u have to deal with a lawsuit or they could be powerful enough to get you fired.

@@ichijofestival2576 Wanda has been a topical comedy writer for over 20 years starting back with Chris Rock in the late 90s. She has writers for her now, yes, but it’s her that is leading the writers to codify her particular voice. This ain’t her fist rodeo. That’s one of the main reasons people are responding to her so positively.

If you didn't know, you'd swear that she's been on the show for years, she just fit in perfectly.
Manchester GA is a prime example of this. Thank you for covering this. If you can’t afford the $50 ticket, you go to jail or are put on probation (more $$). If you can’t afford $100 water bill you will be fined $50 to reconnect. There is a $50 processing fee to pay a fine by credit card. This is a small impoverished town of 3500 ppl. Help.

Yelp that’s true for Arkansas. In college I almost got locked up for forgetting to pay the other half of my ticket. When I paid it the cop said I was lucky cuz the judge just gave them the warrant to pick me up the next day. He also said I woulda had to pay more fines for that too.

I’m from rural AL and I got a ticket for a minor traffic infraction in a rich area that was over $300. My city spends $4 mil on police and the library isn’t even open on the weekends. We are headed for a dark place.

This " ticketing" revenue has been going on for years...at least I remember starting in the 80's...the police in my area were pressured to meet a quota...what I found amazing is how state and local politicians run campaigns on how "low" they are keeping our " taxes"...and voters never question...HOW they are doing it. I like this person's comments on this issue.

It's always odd to me how evil organizations go after poor people when they want money. Don't they know that corporations and billionaires have literally infinite money?
They have the money to fight back.
The thing about rich people is that they have lawyers that can defend them. The evil organizations won't waste time on something they can lose. They'll rather continue ripping off the poor people without representation 10 cents at a time than to loose trying to get a million dollar from some rich guy.
They can't fight the corporation that paid for their elections

I used to work in this fairly affluent community and these state workers were telling this story about how the citizens of that community had a meeting and told the police they keep getting too many tickets and so they stopped ticketing them so much 😂
