- Calling all fans of the Cars franchise! The beloved Disney/Pixar series has added yet another installment to its long-running franchise, and this time, it’s in the form of a Disney+ TV series. Cars on the Road has arrived at Disney+, and viewers of pretty much all ages are loving this peek into Lightning McQueen and his best friend, Mater’s, road trip. Yet, while this series, like the rest of the Cars movies, is perfect for kids of all ages and has garnered a PG rating, there are some moments that we’re not so sure about. We’ve come to expect Disney movies to have a few jokes that may go over kids’ heads and be aimed at the grown-ups in the audience. Cars on the Road is certainly no exception to this, but beyond that, it also has its fair share of long, elaborate references to famous movies made for adults. It also has scenes that are likely to be on the scary and anxiety-inducing side for some younger audiences. If you’ve seen Cars on the Road, you may have agreed that this series had some more adult moments than some of the franchise’s other installments. they would have had no voice lines for Doc other than racing advice from him (hence Paul Newman passing after the 1st Cars movie). Stanley's voice actor (from the Mater going back in time Cars toon) would be the voice of Stanley (obviously)
@@ZennonTheOne I know. Doc's lines could be recycled into different words he says, similar to Chef in his final episode appearence in South Park, "The Return of Chef".

Me waiting for the adult joke and not references to adult movies or something that is "too heavy for kids" (trust me they probably don't care/don't notice) A real cars adult joke is the famous: "DID YOU KNOW THAT DOC HAS 3 PISTON CUPS!?" "He did what in his cup?" Took me a while till I got that one

I thought it was funny how they animated the dinosaurs in the first episode like they came straight out of a cheap stop motion movie.

@@chickenchaff827 Although Disney realizes that this Show will be watched by kids with parents, it in generally targeted for kids. Adults alone (with all the nostalgia / collector's interest) can't be target audience for this - too simplified and low budget. The episode with the "Shining" main theme or with Hollywood production is more for older kids...

Pretty much none of these was adult jokes. Also do they seriously think kids these days don't know what delivery drones or CGI are? I also wouldn't call simply referencing a movie aimed at adults an adult joke. I knew many R rated movies as a kid even if I hadn't seen them. Granted The Shining is so old that many kids wouldn't get the references just based on that even if it's still a classic.

Most "subliminal messages" in Disney movies are just Karen's acting crazy, there is some but most of them don't actually exist or are misinterpreted like SFX in The Lion King for example.
