  • Have you ever taken the myers-briggs personality test, and found out you were an INFJ, aka the Advocate? Do you wonder about the characteristics about the INFJ personality type? INFJs are the rarest personality type, as only 1-2% of the world's population are INFJ. They put the "book" in bookworm, and know how to climb the social ladder. INFJs see things and understand them, and love a good puzzle. They are also very classy, and have a knack for making routine less boring.
    Do you identify as an INFJ personality type? What are some characteristics of an INFJ that you relate to? Let us know in the comments down below!

      What personality type do you expect most of the commenters on a video about INFJs to be? It's not the whole internet in one comment section. Most of the viewers of an INFJ video will be INFJ while most of the other personality types will be watching their videos. It's basic logic. Don't be surprised if you see cats in a cat cafe.

    • @caseywilde7931
      @caseywilde7931 Před 4 lety +227

      @Razan Al najjar You can actually differentiate who is and who isn't an INFJ mostly with how they treat it
      Those who want to be it because it's rare feel like it's good and spacial and makes you stand out
      Those who've actually been it their entire lives know that being rare doesn't mean being special, it also means being a weirdo and know most of thier misery about not being able to fit in come with them being so rare.

    • @caseywilde7931
      @caseywilde7931 Před 4 lety +106

      @Razan Al najjar Dude if you like art you're not gonna tell strangers unless you're in a place where other people like it, too. This video is about INFJ people so naturally a lot of INFJs will be here sharing their stories, opinions, and experiences about being an INFJ. Just because quora said something doesn't mean it applies to everyone.
      and why is it disgusting to claim to be the odd one out? It's no fun being thought of as an outcast. A lot of people here aren't even sharing pleasant stories. There are even rants here. Just let people be themselves and be able to say who they believe they are without being called disgusting or narcissistic.
      If you couldn't handle seeing people call themselves INFJs in a comment section about a video revolving around INJFs, why did you bother coming to the comments? It's frustrating to see they can't be themselves in a community about them. Just let people enjoy themselves for once.

      “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live...” Dumbledore
      INFJs are the most extroverted introverts. What it really means is that we need time alone to recharge. It does not meant that INFJs must be shy or antisocial, it means we lose energy by interacting with others. Extroverted types get recharged by interacting with people, their energy fades with too much alone time.
      Another pitfall of introverted types is using our need for solitude to live in our heads. Which we need to do but it’s not healthy to do that all the time. Same as it’s not healthy for an extrovert to never spend times with their thoughts and inner depths.

Super organized at work, love things to be organized, love helping others at work, will prefer to doing my work load on my own though, because I'm fussy and specific, and if someone is "helping" me but doing it the long way, it frustrates me to no end 😂 Abit classy, was literally looking at dinning sets and furniture before I jumped on here 😂 Hyper aware of people's emotions around me, soon as I enter a room, I'm analysing everyone's facial expressions, body language, and general vibe and have become somewhat an expert on peoples feelings. The one thing that seems to be the exception for my organizing nature, is my bedroom. My entire house will be spotless, but my bedroom is frequently an organized mess. 😂🤦‍♂️

      Laverna Medina nononononononononnononononono ono you should NOT rely on the test OR the letters!!!! They’re just an adaptation on the original theory that completely simplified the original one, let me explain.
      Each type is not actually based on the four letters, they are based on 8 different functions called the ‘cognitive functions’.
      The thing is, the letters (e.g. Intuition vs Sensing) don’t actually exist... they’re just stereotypes of the 8 cognitive functions.
      So, there’s sensing, intuition, thinking and feeling. That’s 4. Each of these four is split into two: extraverted and introverted. They can be abbreviated into:
      Se (extraverted sensing)
      Si (introverted sensing)
      Ne (extraverted intuition)
      Ni (introverted intuition)
      Te (extraverted thinking)
      Ti (introverted thinking)
      Fe (extraverted feeling)
      Fi (introverted feeling)
      Each of these functions work differently, which I don’t have time to explain but you can research yourself.
      Every type has two introverted functions and two extraverted functions. You have your dominant function (the one you use most), auxiliary (used second most), territory and inferior (used least).
      Now, if you have one function, you must have its opposite. Extraverted is opposite to introverted, feeling is opposite to thinking and intuition is opposed by sensing, so, if you have Se you must have Ni. If you have Ti, you must have Fe.
      So, what are your cognitive functions? Here’s an example:
      INTP:
      Ti
      Ne
      Si
      Fe
      How did I come to this conclusion? We know the first (dominant) function is thinking over feeling, as the letter is T, not F. We know the dominant function is also introverted, as it’s I, not E. When I is paired with P, we use the thinking (T vs F) function over the sensing (N vs S) function.
      The second (auxilary)function is Ne, as INTP is N over S. It has to be extraverted as the dominant function is introverted, so we get Ne. The third function is opposite to the second, and the fourth is opposite to the first.
      Thanks for sticking with me by reading this - it’s tricky to explain and if you didn’t grasp it google it yourself.

But for the most part, the INFJ doesn't purchase luxury items because they enjoy the finer things, but because they either are good quality thus a good investment and/or want to appear as a person that people could take seriously and go confide in (because of the Fe functions that they are aware of what the people might want.)

      Although the letters mean what I had described above, there's more to it, and can't be learned overnight, cause it's part of psychology; Jungian psychology, a vast subject.
      INFJs have what's called as "intuitive intuition", aka Ni.
      In a nutshell, it means the ability to concentrate and focus on a precise thing especially in the future, using unempirical data and patterns.

      I said it before, and I'm saying it again. Jungian psychology or even mbti is vast, and cannot be expected to be learned in a hurry.
      And online tests? They suck. No matter how related you feel to the type you got from the test, it's never accurate, cause you might have been experiencing what's called the Barnum effect.
      Although it may seem like there's only a difference of one Letter between INFJ and infp, in fact they not even close. Tbh an infj is closer to ISTP, than they are to an infp. So you do understand how inaccurate those tests are, right?
      I suggest you learn about mbti at least sufficient to type yourself, or you can consult a professional and get yourself typed.

As that is not possible, in order for them to get the right personality type, people need to also look into the cognitive functions which will hopefully end up helping them figure out their personalities.

    • @gopassionate3318
      @gopassionate3318 Před 4 lety +8

      After all many people pretend to be one type of personality because it is either rare or special according to them. MBTI is actually meant for self development and it kind of hurts to see other people pretending to be one personality instead of focusing on getting to know themselves and their personality better.

      I know exactly how you feel chermia, like I feel pretty much the same way. all my childhood dreams were all in fact; childhood dreams. I grew up and didn't really feel the same about those dreams as I got older. I still tried to pursue them but I've found my place in a company that I've worked at for almost 4 years. I'm getting quite comfortable there now, the pay is awful but it will get better if I train up. I'm thinking of going down this route simply because I am so unsure about everything in my life. I've noticed that when I am myself and able to be myself I thrive. A lot of things in this world will try to pump you through a machine and come out as something you go in as. I'm very stubborn in my ways and I have foreseen myself as a failure for a long time. I'm starting to realise now that I'm so afraid of failing that I would rather not try. If you think you have a shot and you want something, It's better to try and fail than not try and leave.
      This video did explain to me why I would like to treat myself to some nice items at home, I don't buy things very much but when I do; it will be of the highest quality. It will be practical, not overly expensive, but elegant. I'm organised chaos for sure. I am much better at typing than I am at speaking. It gives me the time I need to process what I am thinking.

    I don't take the Myers-briggs personality types very seriously. Not that you can't play around with categories for the hell of it, but they're rough estimates at best.

    This is so true, I literally feel like a highly sensitive antenna. It doesn’t matter where, I could be at a checkout but be so distracted by the energies around me that I don’t even know how to feel. I even sometimes feel like a spy because I see everything so objectively that having a strong opinion on something would seem just a way to demonstrate your ego. It is so difficult to live in world where your world and the world of others seem to be distant paradigms

    It wasn't long ago I found my personality type, INFJ and I'm still learning of the traits about it. ^^ found this video very relatable, as for the 6th one I do like to dress in a way it will make me feel good; I usually budget my clothes when it comes to buying them. :') (I'm sure we can all relate to buying affordable clothing that looks and feels good).
    Thank you for sharing these traits!
