Same as the older person seeking validation in the seduction of a younger more naive partner. It's just made exponentially worse that the father figure is a thoroughly corrupt cop.

He showered her with gifts, bought her a car at one point, which would have been a big deal to a teenager that had come through a difficult childhood. He was 30 yrs older and I think she was indoctrinated by him. He manipulated her by getting her entangled with Kathleen's death even though she had nothing to do with it.

She is 17…….and did you catch her background in life….🙁 Easily groomed for years too. Otherwise I would maybe agree though life is seldom as easy as it looks, and each case is different as well as any individuals involved. What is more certain is the emotions awaken in us in cases like this. Watching this p.o.s. murderer is indeed challenging, but what goes around comes around, and thats karma🙂 There is joy in knowing he now recides in a 2 by 3 cell surrounded by criminals who HATES him as a former cop…..now he have become the hunted indeed, oh joy……

Cause usually the person has you thinking the other person is the problem. Like I act like this cause of them. Abusers are good at that sort of thing. People also think it could happen to me

I think she was desperate to
escape Drew and was doing whatever she could to get out. Also, like the lawyer said she didn't realize it was a crime

Considering that Drew was abusing her, and groomed her. He had her convinced that Kathleen was the problem. What a horrible .victim blaming statement to make, do better.

What a mesmerizing case of utter system failure causing 2 innocent women their lifes. Tough one to watch because of that. Stacey was 17…….and did you catch her background in life….🙁 Easily groomed into her adulthood too. The first wife did everything she could to get out of the relationship, she showed huge courage and stamina, sadly to no avail. Otherwise I could maybe agree to the assumption that escape was possible. Could I have made that choice or could you? Life is rarely as easy as it may seem, especially for distant viewers watching in our safe surroundings. I guess each case is different as well as any individuals and their minds involved. Maybe thats one of the reasons which draws us to true crime dramas.

I believe the entire police station that he worked at needs to be investigated for corruption because that’s just insane 18 times coming to the house for domestic violence and no arrests come on 2 people are dead now because of the incompetence of the police
