Me watching americans watch a dutch commercial that is in finnnish and subtitled in dutch. What a world we are living in
I think the commercial is Dutch in origin. It is from the same insurance company as the other ones, Achmea located in Apeldoorn.

I'm Dutch so let me explain some of the commercials for you
The commercials that end with "Even Apeldoorn bellen" Those are commercials for a Dutch insurance company called Achmea which is located in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn. "Even Apeldoorn bellen" means roughly translated in English "quickly have to call Apeldoorn"
The commercial with the family in the car waiting at a stoplight was for a horrible tasting ice popsicle that changed colors when you licked or sucked on it. The story of the commercial is that the boy yells "hey it's green" which makes the dad who isn't paying attention thinking the kid means the stoplight has turned green so he gives gas and immediately crashes the car. Then right after the boy says "hey now it's red" because the popsicle turned from green to red and the dad realizes why the kid yelled that it was green in the first place
The commercial with the black guy and the giant aquarium. That commercial is for a glass company. The joke is that the black guy is helpless but his colleague or boss who is calling companies out of the yellow pages for the glass to be repaired is telling him that the companies he's talking to don't have the right kind of glass they need or it's just too small for what they need. So the joke is if that colleague just called the right glass company from the start the broken glass would get fixed sooner
The commercial with the white guys riding up in a black "hood" in the orange car (orange is the national color of The Netherlands) is a commercial for what you would call a financial service provider called Delta Lloyd. Basically saying that the white guys were able to buy that expensive low rider with hydraulics to "fit in" because of the provider
The elephant one is pretty self explanatory and is one of the most famous Dutch commercials. It's for the candy brand Rolo
Dutch people have a dark sense of humor and don't get easily offended, especially 20-30 years ago which most of those commercials being that old or even older so that's why some of the commercials are pretty dark, especially if you don't know who made the commercial

The Delta Lloyd commercial, so even a Dutchman didn't understand it! The punch line is that the white boys dressed in orange clothes and their tough car challenged the black boys, even though they know that doing so put them at risk of physical damage. These white guys didn't have to worry about it, because they are well insured with Delta Lloyd.
We are offended by DIFFERENT THINGS . We are easily offended, just like everyone is. Our tolerance just lies somewhere else. We really have a high opinion of ourselves, dont we? One of the reasons our country has lost so much, we are so bad at self reflection and critical thinking. We just think we are assume , and thats the reason why we have what we have and believe what we believe

Many Dutch commercials from that era where comedy movies. Short ones but very funny. Heineken did a lot of funny ones too. And the people at the insurance company have been marketing like gold for decades.
The Rolo commercial is circa plus 30 years old? and the lyrics are ingrained in the brain: 'Bedenk gioed, wat je met je laatste Rolo doet!' - Think carefully about what you do with your last Rolo!'
I'm Dutch and I love that advert of the family in the car while the kids are eating a lolipop.
The kid says it's green and the dad thinks he means the colour of the traffic light.
That's one of my favorite adverts from Achmea insurance.
2:50 The kid yelled "It's green", it was part of his ice-cream that turned green after licking at it a few times, and his dad thought he talked about the traffic light.
I always seen that commercial but you saying he got to it first made me go back , you see when she walks by it there is a bite out already 😂🤷🏼♂️

1:28 Yes its a dutch insurance company. They make add located all over the world of people doing st*pid stuff. Cause when you do they got you covered. So if you go to the usa and try to impress a gang and it doesn't go as planned. You are covered. 😂
As dutch person that first one is for a i surrance company and its like you can go do whatever you want its covered so the boys show no fear at all 😂😂

No, we don't have hoods in the Netherlands but we are familiar with the idea through media and film. One area was moving in the direction of a hood, but the city got on it and it is quite a pleasant neighbourhood now.
We do have something called achterstandswijken though. Which are pretty much neighboorhoods with people who are generally behind in life/education/income, and have generally more crime like drugs dealings. But yes, from my experience, it is nowhere near as bad as actually hoods in America.
True, but they tend to be MIXED, more of a United Nations neighbourhood than a single-ethnicity ghetto, you have some ethnic concentrations but they are SMALL, and you have neighbourhoods in which the minorities COMBINED are an overwhelming majority.
@@ruud9761 Hood in America in not the same as a underprivileged living in the Projects. Hood is war field burned houses cars etc. Every ethnicity lived in its own corner. Even police do not go there by accident

My country had "HOODS" in the past but it's gone now very positive thing especially for young generation and myself who grew up fucked up in the 90's and 00's.

I remember seeing an add with a little white doggy jumping after a ball or something straight into a wood-chipper. Had me literally ROFL. Can't for the life of me remember what it was for, probably for 'Centraal Beheer'. It was on TV only once since it caused a national uproar.

That ROLO advert with the elephant was actually a British advert.
it's Dutch the kid is Dutch and speaking Dutch it was shot in Amsterdam.

BUT, this advert WAS shown in the uk and an honest mistake on my part as it's a British product being advertised by a Dutch marketing company.
It was probably dubbed into English to save having to make another funny advert for the British market.
Looking at it closer you are right about this advert being Dutch as the buildings and clothing not quite British looking.
In 1988 the company ( Rowntree-Mackintosh) was purchased by the Swiss multi national company Nestlé and ROLO's were sold worldwide from then on.
@@oOStarratsOo No, not entirely, not the zoo part, that baby elephant was Ant Bwe Lay, and he lived in Emmen at the time.
He would have had his 30th birthday next friday, but he died in 2021. The Elephant enclosure is easily recognized, it was a beautiful enclosure, but the dry moat was a serial killer of elephants, there is no way they could have ever shot that in Amsterdam.
