- The Miami Hurricanes are now ranked by the Associated Press and the Coaches Poll for the first time this season. After beating the Texas A&M Aggies 48-33 on Saturday, the Hurricanes have earned a number 22 ranking! Host Alex Donno explains why the recognition is deserved but talks about the challenges in staying ranked or even climbing through the rest of the season. Alex praises the character of Miami WR Jacolby George for bouncing back from adversity and explains why receivers coach Kevin Beard and OC Shannon Dawson deserve credit, too.
Pro Football Focus released their grades for the Hurricanes players and not surprisingly, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke earned an elite 82.0 grade for his 5 touchdown performance against A&M. Defensive backs Jaden Davis and Daryl Porter Jr. also graded highly, and Javion Cohen earned an elite 82.9 pass blocking grade. Like where the program is heading, need to keep looking week to week. Been burned too many times to look over teams. Def a great game. Gonna have to play better defense and stop the mental mistakes if we want to hang with the upper level of the acc. Best quote I heard was from Restrepo, “ this is our team, not the coaches, we listen to the coaches but we are doing it for us”
Donno we have to keep the coaches for a few years even if we have to empty the brinks truck to keep them I'm afraid every head coach in America are going to go after them after the season 🙏🙌
I love that we got the win for the spirit of the team. Glad we got the win because it was so many recruits there. Last I’m just glad to see real true freshman getting meaningful plays and snaps. All I was look for were the rookies like Bain and our offensive/defensive line.

Go watch the players postgame interviews. Everyone of them basically said that it’s only 1 game and they’ve got 10 more to go. Arguably the biggest win for UM in easily 5 years and those boys were basically stepping right over it to get to Bethune. That “next play” attitude is even carrying on past 00:00.
Donno - Big props for acknowledging the day. Though I must admit I don’t think that it was coincidence that this Country was most united when the Canes were at their best.

It was a Miami type beat down for them. They had players not finishing blocks and not fighting for yards in a big game. That’s cultural issues. Go back and watch.

Mark my word, that A&M victory is going to look better 5 week from now! A&M D is good and talented. They will not face a passing QB like TVD on their schedule. A&M was not going to let Miami run the ball down their throats. So, they said, TVD, you beat us throwing. TVD in 2023, he is back to 2021 and he said ok, I beat you throwing! Also, A&M offense is far better than A&M offense the last two years.

The biggest things to me were the physical play of everyone on Miami. A AM WR had a dead to rights first down and was blown back two yards to get stopped a yard short by a Miami CB.

Weigman threw for 336 yards…he went off. We played well but we didn’t exactly shut them down. I think we were well prepared and did what we need to do to win. There’s still work to be do but trending up.

He’s a mobile QB that can extend plays but He did not go off. 58% completion rate with 2 ints. He was gifted a rushing TD early and had at least 120 yards in garbage time.
After the 2 defensive linemen got hurt and didn't return we didn't get as much pressure on them in the 2nd half but that's why we blitzed as much as we did. That's when their QB got his yards

Rather him stay with the 26 class...there's so many 2025 WR's that you don't want left out of that class..at least 4 big and fast receivers. You don't need another slot WR next year with X and Ray Ray still here next season. If you want to add him with a couple of WR's in 26 you have Calvin Russell and Jabari Brady who will probably be a 5 star
This team is so much better coached on both sides of the ball and everyone has improved their level of play. I think we cut all the cancer out of the program and the kids are starting to believe in themselves

Charles is way better than his ranking and I expect him to rise up the rankings by next season. He reminds me so much of Ahmmon Richards but a more twitchier wide receiver
