I’ve just bought the 473. For £300, it’s incredible quite simply. The amount of features it has on it has blown me away. The speakers are clear and good enough for studio use, but if you’re performing I’d go with the EW-425. It’s the same thing but with more keys and better speakers. Happy playing ✌️

Nice to see your reaction on the 'Gospel' sounds of the E-373. A good comparison, thanks! I like your style of playing.

Another huge benefit of the 473 you didn’t mention is that it has a built-in audio interface, which is crucial for making high-quality recordings. Having it built-in saves space/weight as well as money if you don’t already have an audio interface.

Thanks for the comparson. I'm thinking about between the e373 and 473.😀

I don’t know why Yamaha still bother with the 273, they should drop that line. Casiotone is more portable.
As for 373 and 473, they are both great in the category.

Yeah, it's just trash keyboard. Crappy sound, no velocity sensitivity just basically a piece of trash. The best keyboard for masochist. Nothing more nothing less.

I’m not sure if live knobs on 473 should be called “assignable”. They have 3-4 fixed sets of already assigned functions, in complementary pairs. All you can do is switch between the sets.

Audio over USB is a big deal for the top two. No extra audio interface hardware required that is usually needed with a DAW.

Thank you for the informative video. The e373 speakers are very disappointing - the only good (full) sound I got from it was when I ran it (mono) through my large Peavey Session keyboard amp. Wanted to ask - is the e473 piano / string layer any better than the e373? Would you compare it to Yamaha PRS SX600, or the MX61 models' piano / string layer sound? Appreciate your input 😊

I agree on the 373 speakers. They are mediocre at best. Acceptable for a learning tool, or just something to poke around on, at low volume...or using headphones...but for any kind of performance, however informal and small? No.

We would appreciate seeing your hands on the instrument controls as you operate them NOT a frontal view of you. Thanks anyway. Also portability - show us.🙏

Can we add external Sounds, Styles and Rhythms to E473

It is disappointing that the 473 still has 32 registration slots. Worse they have taken away the ability to play samples chromatically on the keyboard. C'mon still no portamento button. You have a button for demo which 90% of users will not use.....

Very good review and comparison! I have a 473 coming into my local music store, sometime next week (hopefully sooner than later). I have a couple of Casios that are of similar design. Neither of them have a mic input, which I would make really good use of. I can't really play (yet); although, I can play some songs with both hands. Of course, the 473 has many amazing features and I'm really looking forward to playing on it. It's $499 CAD. At that price, I doubt if there is anything better available. Of course, I'll have to give it a "test drive" at the store. I fully expect to be bringing it home!
P.S. Also, being able to plug in a Flash Drive, is a real bonus! I'll be singing and playing a lot of 60's/70's songs...probably a few from the 50's!
