Yes... But but UK but being the in the EU is double edged sword.
The UK can't ask France to take back migrants because France has no obligation to accept repatriated migrants from the UK.
By the same rules the UK had no obligation to take back migrants from Ireland.
What both countries need to do is resolve the claims of migrants quickly and the UK needs to apply to join the EU migrant pact or agree similar with the EU.

No it doesn't. It simply means that word is getting around that Irealnd has a better economy, higher wages and you don't have to wait up to three years, locked in a shabby hotel for your application to be approved. Once rapidly settled in Ireland you are then able to live and work in the UK without need for a visa.
Ireland is a short cut into the the UK, it is not being used due to fear over Rwanda. People who crossed the Mediterranean in dangerous boats, crossed Europe, crossed the Channel (one of the worlds most dangerous waterways) in a rubber dinghy are not afarid of a free, commercial flight, on a well maintained modern airliner to Rwanda.
I've know of migrants using Ireland as a backdoor into the UK for over ten years and so has the F.O and H.O. This Rwanda narrative is moronic.

That's odd...the boats are still coming.
Don't be surprised if Ireland actually takes steps to stop them traveling to their shores AND to send them back to the UK without asking.
What's to stop them just putting them all on coaches and sending them up to NI and pushing them across the border?
Didn't anyone think it was odd, that deal that the EU insisted on that kept NI borders open to the EU?

I think they're part of the ECHR, and so wouldnt be able to do that. Also they are a member of the EU and the migrants entered Britain via the EU... Britain doesnt want them back...
So might be more difficult that you think.
