    Don't forget you can also do Magic Bursts while on Limit Break too. The timing is like after every 2nd hit of the combo. And since Magic Burst potency is increased by 10% while on Limit Break, it sounds like the game wants us to do that instead of spamming the square button

    Deadly takedown into gouge is one of the most effective ways to melt the enemies stagger bar.

  • @Game2590
    @Game2590 Před rokem +4

    Two additional things with Heatwave and Rook's Gambit, along with something for Gouge:
    You can adjust Heatwaves projectile directions with the left stick, so you don't necessarily need to throw them all at the one enemy if they're nearly dead.
    You can cancel the follow-up of Rook's Gambit with dodge during the backstep, so if you mess up the timing and don't get the counter you can cancel it and it resets the cooldown so you can go right back in to it. It does mean you can also just use it as a back step and then reposition with the dodge.
    With Gouge if you continue hitting the activate button for it you'll extend the attack, which can be useful for building multiplier.

  • @longtimegamer6450
    @longtimegamer6450 Před rokem +26

    Should also mention the raging fists titan ability. The counter window has about the same as titanic block, and it freezes time making it slightly riskier to go for, but more rewarding for the guaranteed damage.

    • @vollkerball1

      That damage is to low to be a good risk/reward action

    • @DanBurtonCodes

      The stagger damage on a correct counter is pretty high. And like the other counters, it refunds a chunk of its cool down when correctly countering.

After playing around with what I learned here I found out you can do the precision Torgal moves and the magic burst both at the same time when you press both buttons. A good combo here seems to be ravage + magic burst because it actually stops enemies from getting blown away too far from the burst.

    Another interesting tech I've seen is that limit break will free you from Garuda's grabs. I haven't tested it enough to see if it will break you out of any effect that makes you lose control of your character, but I assume it would.

  • @L-Man-Gaming
    @L-Man-Gaming Před rokem +11

    There's lots of interesting things that Im finding. For example limit break actually frees you from enemy attacks including bosses and other animations. It works similarly to God of War, so if you get grabbed by Benedikta you can literally just pop it and you will free yourself.
    Also in terms of stomp you can also do some cool things in the air by extending combos by air dodging. This allows for even easier charged blades or charged magic shots while in the air, and on bigger bosses (like the Morbol) you can pretty much stay in the air infinitely with aerial charged blades, stomps, air dodges, and magic burst combos. Although the timing is much tighter since you dont have the fast charging unlocked yet. So the combo looks like jump and trigger aerial charged blade, do magic burst combo and on last burst (the big one) immediately hold down for another charged blade and then dodge into boss and stomp and the next charged blade is ready for you to launch yourself again.
    I did not know you can dodge out of finishing moves, so that is good to know, and same with timing Torgal. There is a ton of little nuances in this game, and its tough to remember all of them.
    Personally I think Heatwave is strictly the best ability available in the demo, it's insane on so many levels like you mentioned. I did not like Rook's Gambit as the Titanic Block kind of fits that melee counter for me and Gambit does have a weird timing on top of the missed counter animation not being my favorite where something like Heatwave just feels good to use by itself no counter needed.
    Overall thinking ahead, I honestly can see the majority of players sticking with Phoenix, Garuda, and Titan as their primary Eikonic feats, they work really well together lol. There's a lot of Eikons fighting for those three available spots so its going to be tough deciding, but it seems like Garuda might just have the best feat in the game from the EIkons we know. The combo potential is high and the takedown on half staggered enemies is kind of OP and satisfying.

    • @L-Man-Gaming
      @L-Man-Gaming Před rokem

      @@tyler2102 Honestly you're right, I was just thinking more terms of optimal play, I do believe these three just have a lot of synergy together. I'm having a hard time figuring out which Eikonic feats I want since you can swap abilities.
      I'm thinking about cutting Phoenix, but that might feel weird without teleport, and Garuda's feat is just OP, and I actually really like the block on Titan, so its going to be really fucking tough.
      Bahamut and Odin actually switch up your moveset more, so while their abilties might have synergy, I dont see how their feats would add much in the ways of combos, and Ramuh just seems kind of lame besides mobs, but yeah, people are going to anime as fuck with Odin so the fun factor will probably just get people to switch.

    I would just update how stagger works. It's not just about the number of hits. It's the number of hits with quality will damage, the reason why garuda is great for raising the stagger multiplier is not because it has many hits in its abilities but because the abilities do great damage against their will.

    Thanks for the guide. Super helpful. It would be nice to have a segment in a future video dedicated to known combo sequences that are optimal or close to optimal. This game has a lot of freedom and it takes quite a bit of lab work to find good move synergy for some moves or longer combos. Just a suggestion, thanks again. If this is something you already do and I missed it, my bad. I honestly think strong flow charts are the way to go in this game. As opposed to like Street fighter 6 as you don't want to be predictable. Though combos videos are a thing.

Would I be happier with a menu selection style battle system? I don't know. I don't think so. That's not what this game is. To me final fantasy has absolutely nothing to do with how the game is played and everything to do with how the story is told. I know I'm rambling, I'm very high. I'm just t trying to talk myself out of equipping any timely accessories. I can do this dammit.
