I just wish we could have equipped 3 skills for each icon instead of just 2
Remove jump when pressing r2 and get a third skill
I wish we could have 2 eikon loadouts and a button to swap between them in combat. Would be amazingly chaotic.
@@a.block.of.tofu.that would be way too strong they already let you have 6 ultimate attacks if you really want to
@thegamewin100 it's just for fun, maybe make it it's own mode. I'm not saying give players the option on their first playthrough.
Gotta say as a diehard fan of DMC, Bayonetta, and anything Platinum makes, this game really scratches that itch for a really good “next gen” hack and slash game. I’ve been playing and replaying DMC 5 for 2 years now and I have a feeling this is going to hold that slot for quite a while. The amount of control and creativity you can have while playing this is insane… in the best kind of way!!
im shocked on how good the H&S combat is in ffxvi
i didnt master dmc 5 yet but playing both games is such a joy
@@andretheseal9837 i do too think its too easy but from what ive heard:
Action focused = normal
Final fantasy mode = hard
Maybe in another playthrough itll get harder
I love this game so much so im willing to go another playthrough
@@shaiuken7150 I saw in another review they said that FF mode in NG+ was also really quite easy sadly. Unless maybe you can do FF. mode as NG
@@andretheseal9837 whattt that shucks
Mayhe its because your character has all these fast abilities and the enemies are super slow
Wth why do they just stand there sometimes
You can jump cancel with Stomp to reset your air properties. That includes, but is not limited to, Air Dodge, Deadly Embrace's height gain, Air Charged Blade, the list goes on. You can even stomp out of Downthrust to get real wild with it.
You can reposition lightning rod the same way you can with Rime by triggering it again, so no need to worry about enemies moving out of that either.
I haven't got Rime yet but the reposition on Lightning Rod is stated in the detailed description you get by pressing Triangle on the ability buy/upgrade menu, if it's not listed on Rimes then I'm guessing that's a mistake of their part.
dude, ive been seeing posts where people were doing cancels and extending combos for almost a minute its insane
Man I’m having a blast with just the first two eikons. I can’t wait to unlock the others
@@thegamewin100honestly i’ve felt unstoppable for the whole game clive is just him
@@shaquilleIV 2 weeks later I’ve beaten the game and I agree 100% Clive is mf him
Easy way to cheese any large enemies is to use will of wisp and spam deadly embrace. Deadly embrace will keep you up in the air and enemies won't be able to hit you unless they have projectiles or aerial attacks. Works for bosses too
you can also pair up abilities from different eikons that you've mastered in one skill row - so potentially you could have gouge and lightning rod without needing to switch eikons.
Yo keep up the awesome work man 👍👍👍
Will of Wykes combined with lightning rod is insane, the fireballs circling you activate lightning rod and with the fireballs so you are both outputting large amounts of stagger and mitigating damage. Do still dodge attacks or parry though you want all the fireballs for more damage
When i saw rift slip i instantly mastered it. Love cutting off animations into a longer animation for cooldown to pass then reuse
Damn, I did not know Rime could be repositioned! Thanks for finding that out! 😁
Lightning rod with the upgraded ifrit skill ( one with floating flames) is an insane combo
It ramps up stagger damage so *QUICKLY* to 150% , you can proceed to burst damage with bahamut Ultimate and titan heavy hitting abilities
Another video I watched stated that Ramus Lightning Rod can also be moved around like you mentioned Shiva’s Rime does. I m going into the fight simulator soon to try out
awesome guide , whenver i look at clive and the story even though im still new to the game i just cant help by how much he reminds me of john snow from game of thrones , the outfit the style the sword his bravery i think theres alot in common here.
so once you stagger, lightning rod + dancing steel maxes out zantetsuken and gets you 1.4 or 1.5 damage multiplier. also since it's an ultimate and takes forever to complete the animation your other skills will cool down a good amount. combine that with zantetsuken and gigaflare you'll have your ults every time you get a stagger
I only have gotten ifrit abilities yet so yeah will still learn stuff
Any chance of an advanced aerial guide? Also just advanced Neutral stuff in general? Great videos btw!
Great videos. Staying in the air is tough. But thank you for your videos. They are amazing
I was a bit let down I thought the combat was going to be closer to ff15 with switching weapons and air stepping
I just finished the main story, about to do a normal run of the DLC and then shelve this for the next best game.
I've always been intimidated by games with mechanical depth. Engaging with the mental stack of reacting, timing, pressing buttons with intentions, observing enemy movements, animation cancels, cooldowns is quite daunting. FF16 will be my first one that I will truly attempt to learn to style and "get good".
Just want to say thank you for these tutorials. They help more than you would know.
Luckily this combat is more Nero than Dante, if we're speaking Dmc. Very manageable.
Same for me when I started. there is a training area you get access to pretty early on. I ignored this awesome quality of life addition at first but then found myself in there often to try out new moves and just experiment with various combos and basic dodge and parry. Wishing you a great time!!
Lightning rod totally feels like an adaptation of great cannon from dragons dogma, so it’s been in my load out since I got it lol. Mystic knights for the win
Always wondered if lightning rod works with raging fist. But sadly my loadout don’t allow for another stagger damage skill.
Would be cool to get an Option to disable the cooldowns in the normal game and combine the abilities to whatever you want, like in DMC, in addition the damage of them could be reduced or the damage the player recieves could be increased, would be fun mode to play
The game does literally tell you that Rime can be moved lol
You should add “press triangle” for skill details and you won’t miss things like parry stuff and cooldowns.
This party is getting crazier!!!
Yooo DNC! no mention of the OP berserker ring? Once i discovered what it does, it took a permanent spot in my accessories 😂
It was a useful ring but I stopped using it thanks to that long ass dodge animation
Du you plan to make a full playtrough
Which control scheme do you prefer?
Yet another brilliant guide. Thanks DnC. What are your favorite accessories?
Hey man great video like always.
Quick question, is Gungir just a useless ability? I’m trying to figure out what’s special about it as I haven’t seen the description, but from what I’ve seen it does no damage, doesn’t build the Zentetusken bar that well, and there’s better abilities for building stagger and the multiplier, so wtf does it do? Is it just a shit ability lol?
Stack it with Lightning Rod for big stagger, other than that there’s nothing else if found that’s special about it. Just very flashy
"What the game doesn't tell you..." It does, just read the description.
Do you recommend using the Berserker Ring? I can't decide if I like it or not. It makes dodging more satisfying but I'm not sure if the damage bonus is worth the tradeoff of always having to use a gap closer after using it.
I liked using it for a bit but it fucks with being able to predict where you'll end up after a dodge so I took it off
@@corwinchapman8270 you can direct yourself to a degree. It’s more an issue of eternally having to use a gap closer as well as missing out on a precision sic
I love berserk ring I didn't like it so much in the battle where you pick up your 4th set of eikon tho. That boss battle killed me so much due to wanting to be in his face. I'd dodge one attack he'd punish me with a follow up.
What setting do you use A, B, C?
We need a style switcher for this game ala DMC si we can fully use all Eikion and thier abilities/skills
RisingFlame tp Thunderstorm for an easy juggle and high single target damage
Do you happen to know if Odin's abilities on other eikons, will still increase the Zantetsuken bar? Haven't yet unlocked Odin, but has been wondering if this is a case for a while.
Yes, they will still increase the Zan bar as long as you have Odin as one of the 3 Eikons equipped
Question… sometimes when I am in a battle, the sound and colouring changes and it seems like time slightly slows down (and it makes a sort of noise)… does anyone know what that is, how you activate it and it’s purpose?
When your melee attack clashes with an enemies melee attack you will parry them (which is what you've described). It can happen accidentally but you'll be able to do it more consistently with proper timing
How’s your rift slip not have a cool down
Imagine with PC mods, you can use all Eikon abilities.
Lunge after cold snap
Devil May Clive
OK so I have gouge mastered and I get x30 but I'm seeing people hit for x85. What am I doing wrong. Even when I use raging fist to counter I only get x10 and I see you at x30. I just don't understand
You can hit multiple people at once to rack up a lot of hits, some skills (like gouge) can be extended by mashing the skill button during its duration
Any tips for Bahamuts O ability? Feels very passive and Im not sure how to best make quick use of it
That’s the thing with his core skill-it’s supposed to be very passive. It can very quickly charge up if you do precision dodges in that mode, though. The damage over time is also really slow but it does greater total damage then Gigaflare. It really depends on whether or not that’s your style.
Yeah like the other guy said, only way to make it quicker is to dodge attacks while you're floating. Can have the satellite skill active to do some good stagger damage in the meantime.
you use it for precision dodge and counter with megaflare, it's actually very strong esp with satellite
@@dwiatmika9563 can you do a precision counter-shot with Satellite when you’re in Wings of Light mode?
what about bahamut
LATE GAME SPOILERS
Hey, I had a question about Torgal actually. After you learn he is Fenrir, sometimes in battles he will transform, but I don't think I'm controlling when it happens? Is there any indicator on when/why Torgal will limit break himself?
Full disclosure, this has only happened two times so far after the execution cutscene. I have heard there is an accessory you can get later that upgrades Torgal somewhat, but I don't have it yet - so it's not related to whatever that does.
"Final Fantasy's XVI combat isn't that deep, you can't even infinitely juggle or anything like that"
An actual review in the year 2023.
7:00 the game literally DOES tell you that you can recast it
If they can remove the agretious motion blur then the game is 10/10
To my understanding, they will release a patch at some point that lets you toggle it
Just spam fireball
I’m still early game but so far all these flashy combos don’t seem to be any better than mashing square.
You need to add spoiler alerts if youre going to include eikons not available in the demo.
........ what did you expect from a guide posted after release?
Also, this game made it obvious from the first hour of gameplay what Eikons would be usable.
@@SPB___ A potential spoiler tag, like most other content creators are doing? If you knew what eikons where in the game an hour in idk what to tell you. We don't all consume every peice of information to create hype about a game before its out. Including Eikons abilities in some way spoils the plot due to as of my progress exactly one thing needs to happen (for you to get their powers) so now I know the fate of a character Ive not even met in game yet.
I hoped that cleared up the feedback meant for the video uploader to you random person.
Thanks nigga
even if you just spam abilities you still win. game is too easy.
Post a link to your S rank encounter wins, then post your playthrough on New Game+
Super curious if that holds up 🤡
Accessories are also something worth highlighting (outside the timely accessories, of course.)
For example, with the Berserker ring equipped, Clive gains access to an effect that is much more than the advertised attack buff. Everytime you land a precision dodge, Clive goes through a new animation that involves him warping out a considerable distance from the point of impact along with a slowing of time, and 1-2 seconds of invincibility frames. On top of this, the potency "buff" is actually you gaining LB for 3-4 seconds (just for attacks, no health regen) and allowing to get a combo off with it. It takes off a considerable amount of the enemies' stagger bars.
