  • How To Make A Money Lei! Easier than what it looks!
    Step-by-step instructions on how to make your own money lei! These are perfect gifts for any celebrations, especially graduations!
    What you will need:
    - dollar bills (crisper bills seem to hold better)
    - ribbon
    - ruler
    -scissors
    - flowers (I bought 2 cheap leis-- but used 1 full one and part of the second one-- and cut it apart so I could just use the flowers)
    - beads
    - paper clip
    - tape
    There is no right or wrong way to make your own money lei, I'm just simply showing you how I made mine!
    *If you want to use 50 $1 bills you could use the pattern of a bill, a bead, a bill, and etc, or use less beads/use smaller beads with the same pattern I used. I used 35 $1 bills, 1 $5 bill, and 1 $10 bill, to equal a $50 lei [after I took the pics I realized I was $1 short so I added another dollar which then made it 35 $1 bills...oops! :) ]. My lei came to around 46 inches in length.
    Be creative with yours!
    Have fun making your money lei!

    Hi! If i where to use less money would it change anything? Would it just change the size of the lei? Great video :)

    • @carly7xoxoo
      @carly7xoxoo  Před 9 lety

      Rosa Simental yup, if you use less dollar bills it will just change the length of the lei. if you wanted to make it longer, you could always add more beads, or even cut pieces of paper to the size of the dollar bills (and fold them like you would do to the dollar bills) and add those to the lei, etc. thank you for watching! :)

    • @carly7xoxoo
      @carly7xoxoo  Před 7 lety +1

      +Ivy Montilla thank you for watching! Personally, I would start off with the same amount of ribbon, but maybe not add as many beads, if you are going to be using 50 $1 bills. If you used the same pattern as I did, but with 50 $1 bills the lei would be very long (seeing that I used a total of 37 bills- 35 $1 bills, 1 $10 bill, 1 $5 bill). Hope this makes sense and helps!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial... It's the greatest one I've seen and you explain everything so clearly. My Granddaughter is graduating next year in Hawaii and I'd like to surprise her with this lei... That Grandma made! I've read all the review so I was able to write down everything from the ribbon size and length, the bead size, and how much money you used. I would like to even it out to 40.00 even. What length would you recommend I cut the ribbon as I know I have to add 3 more beads and maybe 3 more flowers. Again thank you I love it!!!!!

      araisachavez thank you! Such a great graduation gift! :) I actually purchased 2 leis (I used one complete lei and a some (not very many) flowers of the second- it really depends on how many flowers come on one lei and how you assemble your money lei- which will determine how many leis you will need) from Amazon.com because at the time I was not able to find these colors in stores. But some party supply stores may have these leis if you don't want to purchase from Amazon.com. Thanks for watching my video! :)
