I have seen more than once some idiots tailgating cops. People need to understand that tailgating is also against the law, there is a specific violation code for failing to keep a safe distance, just like speeding. So just because you drive behind a cop and not speeding does not mean you can tailgate the cop.
he was closing in on the cop and so the cop let him go through cuz he knew he was gonna speed. thats why he went over 3 lanes quickly so the car hopefully wouldnt notice he was a cop and it worked.

There's a vid on here of some guy whipping in front of a little red car and brake checking it. As soon as he did, blue lights lit him up. He had brake checked an unmarked cop car. Lol. When you do that, you're at the mercy of that cop because that can be a reckless driving ticket which is almost as bad as a DUI. It all depends on how bad the cop wants to fk up your life.

The cop is guilty of far more ticketable offenses than w.e it is that guy did. Obstructing the flow of traffic ( slow in the passing lane ), reckless driving ( swerving over multiple lanes ), not signaling. Not to mention abuse of power.

As a motorcycle rider, I cringe every time I see tailgaters. There is NO logic behind doing that and it always leads to problems. Maybe not the first time you do it, and maybe not the 100th time, but eventually the price is coming and it will be high for someone, especially if you hit a motorcycle. I think the fine should be astronomical AND you should have to ride a bike in traffic so you know just how vulnerable you really can be. I'm not holding my breath on that, but I bet that would wake people up. On a side note, that cop should have gotten out of the way and not block the left lane, but that's a topic for a different day.

100 percent the cops fault. The guy was not tailgating for two reasons. One, there's no law against it. Two, he was going the same speed. It's the cops fault for going too slow in a passing lane.

In Idaho the likelihood of being pulled over for tailgating is about the same as for a muffler violation.
