The keyless chuck makes it easier to change bits in your rotary tool. The keyless chuck works similarly to the chuck on a cordless drill.
We no longer have to depend on collets when using bits with smaller shank sizes than 1/8" (3.2mm).
The keyless chuck can be used with "all" rotary tools. Like the Dremel 3000, 4000, 4250, 4300, 8220, 8240, 8250, 8260 and so on.
It will also work on the smaller models like the Stylo 2050 and the flex shaft which normally cannot use the other attachments.
One problem i have encountered with the keyless chuck is that dust will build up inside the chuck. This makes it hard for the teeth to open all the way, and you will not be able to use the larger bits in it. I explain the fix for this in the video.

Good tips. "Over opening" keyless chucks is possible even with larger ones.

Thanks! I have a Dremel 4250. Does the Dremel 4486 fit into my Dremel 4250? Thanks

i have put those aside for the keyed chucks.
the keyless just would never get tight and hold what i need. kept coming loose.
so i have a bunch of collates some are decaded to items i use a lot.

the problem ive found is that the collets and the keyless just wiggle with accesories, they end up moving side so side de-centered and seems theres no way to fix that
dissasembled the dremel itself and changed the bearings but still its the same

Hmm. I don't seem to have that problem. Do you close the chuck as far as possible before inserting the bit? Do you still have the problem when you use the normal collet nut and collet? I've had some of my Dremels de-centered as well, but not because of the keyless chuck (8260 and 8240)

@@rotarycrafts8760 the wiggle problem is the same using the keyless or the collet, the problem begins today with the keyless, never used the collet because usually i drill with the dremel smal PCB but today using the 932 i think to grind some metal ive noticed it wiggle, take it out put the collet and the same and now every damn accesory wiggles
the only "solution is place the bits as close it can be to the dremel body
and no, ihave not tried to close it and reopen to place the bits ill try it later
but the worst is that it has less than 1 year and sudden it went crap the shaft has no play with the bearing or the case
