  • Fender Tone Master Pro owners - Have you installed the new 1.3.74 firmware and wondered what they meant by "3rd Party IR SICs (Speaker Impedance Curves)"? Is that getting a tad bit techy for your blood? Well, actually it's a lot of fun when you get the right one paired with a killer IR. And now Fender has made it so easy to use IRs correctly on the TMP - check it out!

    I have had the helix lt, headrush prime and quad cortex. I haven’t bothered with captures at all. But I have to say, the tone master pro sounds the best in my opinion. I can just get an instant, beautiful tone from it so easily!

    I have no idea what a speaker impedance curve is ... and knowing your channel this will be the perfect place to learn. Lead on professor!
    PS: I had no idea it could make that much difference to the sound - thanks heaps.

    4:38 Thats the reason why someone impulse sound better on oryginal gear that captured it, than on gear that we use with that ir. I always thinking that Ir sound best and really good only on gear that was used with it to capture with the same parameters, glad to know that my ear didnt lie me :=) Ir impendence curve Thats a key to Real GameChanger, if someone could make it somehow automatic matching.

    Hello. I have a question or suggestion to Fender regarding the tuner in the Tone Master Pro. I have a guitar with True Temperament frets. A slightly different than basic one is required for perfect tuning. It would be good if Fender added more tuning modes, say True Temperament, drop D. DADGAD...
    I hope this post reaches Fender, thanks

    Hi Doug. Great posts! Very insightful. Any insight to how some of these presets get away with no cabs or IR's? For example, the Another Brick Layer Pt1 preset.

      I can't find a preset with that name, sorry! Best I could find was Another Brick Pt 2, and that one is one the Cloud.

    Hey Doug, where do I find these impedance curves? I'm looking to use a JBL D120 2X12 IR with my Twin reverb for that sweet Jerry tone. So how do I access them on the unit? Thanks. Keep the good stuff coming.

      First you'll need to add the IR to your system. Click on the speaker icon over on the lower left; that will bring you to the IR Manager. Click on the + sign to add an IR to your TMP. Now that you've added an IR, you can add an IR block to your preset. Next, double-click on the IR block in your preset and "Speaker Imp Curve" is your first option. Hope this helps!

    love the content! question... in regards to the loop you created for this video... are you using a looper other than the TMP's? I am new to loopers. I thought that would be a great way to scroll through different effects, amps etc. (just as you did for this video) but I cannot seem to alter what has already been recorded, just what is been played "live". Thoughts?

      While in looper mode on the TMP, do a long press on the switch that you held to bring up the looper itself (the upper right one). This should change the "position" of the looper from Post (which is where you'd normally use it) to Pre which puts whatever you recorded into the "front" of the presets and lets you hear their effects. Then record clean tone/chord you want to use. Then sample different presets to your hearts content. Just don't forget to put it back to Post when you are done trying out the tones.

    I was so disappointed when I installed the update. The third-party IRS I have on presets were all changed to a Blues Junior curve, sounded like crap and were drastically quieter. I was not happy trying to figure it out

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  Před 2 měsíci

      The default for me is a 4x12 GB curve. But it's easy - just find a curve that closely matches your IR. Before this they were all using the default curve, and that REALLY sounded like crap. Are you using a lot of IRs?

      Yeah, it isn't easy dialing in that particular tone, is it? People just assume that Paul Kossoff used a '59 Les Paul thru a Marshall stack - for that studio track, but apparently that isn't true. He used either a '57 Les Paul Special or a Gibson L5S, and a Selmer T&B 50 amp. You can get close with a Les Paul and a Plexi tho. One thing for sure, he didn't use a lot of distortion on the rhythm guitar part. let me see what I can come up with. That's a good question!

    Hi Why isn't there not an acoustic guitar amplifier? or pedal? Or simulator?

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  Před 3 měsíci

      There is - the Acoustasonic amp head is specifically designed for ac/elec guitars. And you can also load in acoustic guitar IRs in the IR block, which should be the first thing in the signal path.

    Can you only do the SIC in the computer control app? Or can you do it on the TMP itself ?

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  Před měsícem

      You need the app to install your IRs, but you can use either the app or the unit to work with SICs. Hope this helps!
