  • 27 year old mother Jamie Kaiwai disappeared from Tolaga Bay in October 2019. Police say the situation is not suspicious but her grandparents Eru and Elaine, and cousin Jonique Oli-Alainu'uese disagree. Zavest Private Investigators' Tim McKinnel looks into the case, and Detective Inspector Tamuera Aberahama answers the family's questions.

Well done to the interviewer who asked all the right questions to the police. They need to be more accountable.

And she seems very perceptive and intelligent. Connecting dots in the way she does whilst considering her cousin's past and the current lens that some parts of our society have together with her ability to deduce! The ability for critical thought!

The police and nz government owe this family compensation they should of treated this as a homicide no finger prints taken from her car or from her room but they found blood in her car and her room somethings not right about this case at all if she jumped into the sea to take her life her body would have washed up on the beach and been found she's not been on TV or in papers seems like a cover up my spirit telling me she's been murdered from someone that's known to her old friends x partner drug dealer

If she took her own life her body would of been found like most people that take there lives from suicide im sure she's been murdered

This is 5 years since she disappeared and the police are still bullshitting the whānau. I want to sit in front of that dude, she spoke to. She let him distract her, the whānau need funds for a private investigator. That guy didn’t do much did he?! It is incomprehensible and disgusting. Who were the coppers in charge that chose not to fingerprint and what connections do they have to the gang and individuals who runs those ends?! They did something with her body and the cops covered it up.

That cop is shifty.. when he was asked hard questions, he ‘coughed,’ scratched the side of his head and slightly squirmed in his chair.

Leave it for the men? The men are the reasons wāhine are being murdered, in the first place. This gang shit affects everyone and the victims are getting younger and younger. Men are also murdered, so your comment doesn’t make sense.

DISGUSTING by the police. Definitely been paid off, blood is found in her room and car and it is still not treated as suspicious? The phone usage after she went missing??? The 9hr trips just to visit 5-10mins??? The fact her car was able to start straight away???? Terrible, never stop fighting whanau, somethings definitely not right
