Good morning, from Houston, Texas. I know the feeling living in New Orleans most of my life. Hurricane haven It is not a pleasant to endure much prayers for Jamaica. Stay safe and nice footage thanks for the update.

Praying my loved ones and friends are ok in Burnt Savanah in St Elizabeth. Praying for everyone in Jamaica and all the islands affected by the hurricane. 🌀 🙏
So far I haven't heard of any fatalities in Burnt Sav or Mountainside. Keep praying

@@leelee8406 Been following JPS on Instagram because they put out memos on when they are doing work and where. So far St E seems to still be in the assessment phase. Residents started doing what they could from the get go. The MP and PM both toured most of the southern areas Thurs and they say work is to be commenced. Rem though, they have to be strategic in the repairs. Essential areas come first. So the hospital in BR and roadways to water pumps and towers are going to be priority. Not much info from the actual community members on the ground due to the disruption in communication, just bits and pieces.
JPS needs international assistance to speed up restoration of electricity!
They were given $500M USD for covid, and $7M USD for safety and security last year.

Not too bad here as mostly trees blown down. But in some southern parts of St Elizabeth many house roofs have beeb badly damaged.
Overall Jamaica was lucky.....Carricou Island, Grenada and Union Island, St Vincent....were absolutely devastated and flattened! 😢
Have family and friends in Bunker Hill St. Elizabeth can't get a hold of them I hope you get to that side

My cousin wasn't wearing his when he got into an accident and went over a cliff in St. James. His gf had hers on and survived, but he didn't make it. A lot of people think it's a hindrance in an emergency, but I'd rather have to get the belt cut than be thrown around the vehicle, or through the windshield like a rag doll.

So sorry to hear. It felt like eternity when I couldn't hear from my relatives, and that was late Thursday morning. Even now the reception is still poor in some places, Only getting bits and pieces and only through straight call- no wifi or internet services in most areas that were badly affected
