This made me genuinely tear up. I've been following this project for a few years now from when you first posted about it on reddit, and my god man. I showed my wife and she told me she is stealing my laptop to play on September 12th. Wishlisted IMMEDIATELY!!!! I'm so god damn proud of you for sticking it out and coming this far. You deserve so much attention and praise for the hard work you've done!

@@mack9225one distinctive difference between this art style and Stardew is that in SDV there are no outlines or at least not black ones like here.
That being said, I also used to watch their pixel art/design videos, probably like 2 years ago, and I wish listed it on Steam back then. Definitely planning on getting the early access.

@@NumbHydrowell it was more that Tony didn’t have funding or enough coding skills to pursue his idea, in reality real development most likely started sometime after undertale came out (other than story and character designs)

i love that pixel games are still around and people keep innovating with the gameplay and graphics. Pixel art just have a different vibe that modern games can't capture. it feels warm and cozy. like a hug of a safety blanket in winter.

If I like something about this game more than anything else, is the character designs. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
I was lucky my character artist came onto the project pretty early. The characters impacted the general art direction a lot

Years ago, the first video I saw from you was "House on Waterfall - Pixel Art Timelapse". Now you release your game in 3 months. You can be proud of yourself for coming this far, I certainly am for you. I can't wait to play it :)
It's been a long time for sure. Funnily, the house on the waterfall was one of the few assets that never ended up in the game

The narrative, characters, and the art style is actually pretty intriguing. Also the gameplay looks better than I expected, the combat & cooking parts are really nice touches.
it feels like just yesterday when i first watched you design and paint the seaside town. I remember that since then, every time i'd come across chef rpg in my wishlist, i'd feel so much excitement and anticipation for when it finally comes out. And here we are. I first thought that waiting would feel like forever, so I can't believe how fast time flew by and how far you've come. I'm so ready and excited to play the game. Congratulations!!!
Only finding out about this game just now, but I feel like I've been waiting for it for 15 years. I honestly teared up. This is a love-letter to so many games that I cherished over the years. I normally don't wishlist anything because I'm broke, but this was an immediate wishlist. If someone asked me to describe early 2000's chill RPG vibes, this game would be a perfect match.
Happy to hear you like the design! Hopefully it can satisfy those chill RPG vibes. Had inspiration from a lot of older RPGs, even the older pixel art pokemon games
@@PixelArchitect It is so obvious that you've clearly loved RPGs for decades now. There are so many different games that I couldn't pick just one to say "this is the inspiration". I get major gen 2/3 pokemon vibes from the minigames, like the berry blender in particular, from the animation style (bounciness) to the artistic pixel art style. Major ragnarok online vibes in the aesthetic and combat with a bit of ARPG flair. Honestly, the last game I was this eager to play was TES Oblivion at release.
Your love for RPGs is so blatantly obvious, and just the dedication alone that you've obviously put into this is truly astounding and worthy of praise. You have done an impeccable job of showing your love for RPGs, without a doubt, this game is going to resonate with many people.

There's something that just hits different with a isometric topdown game that has amazingly, stunning character art. It's like okay I got the jist of what the character looks like but damn they're hiding all of that under their 2D pixel art. It really brings a depth to a character which makes people stick around to see what happens to said character.
Gonna be honest, this is one of my favorite looking games of all time. The art and style of this just gives me an amazing feeling I can't describe. I will 100% be playing this when it comes out!

Hey thanks for the kind words :) Gamedev is a lot of fun - it's especially more interesting when you find a good reason to make games. For me it's mostly creating worlds - which ties into creating architecture. Best of luck with your projects!

I can clearly see your interests and passion embeded on each creation of yours.
I have similar reasons, I love the art involved when creationg new worlds, stories and legends of each region that I choose to represent or create, and also have inspirations on traditional architectures, from japanese Kominkas and Machiyas, to the Pantheon and art déco architecture. 😄
Who knows, someday I could start doing my own devlogs to inspire more people to chase their dreams, while helping with the marketing strategies and quality assurance.
