    Steve Clark was with them first since the begining of the band for the most part and did 90 percent of song writing and solos. He passed away in 1991 and then Vivian came in and took his spot. RIP Steve Clark. Gone but never forgotten. We love you. Steve was Def Lepard.

    The drummer, Rick Allen lost his arm in an auto accident in 1984. The band wasn't going to continue on without him. That is true loyalty. Once he recovered they developed this electronic drum kit that has a series of foot pedals that he uses with his left foot that mimic what he used to play with his left arm. Such a great inspiration and great band.

      Sorry but I cannot completely agree. The 60’s through the 80’s were the best because the 60’s had so an influence on the late 70’s and 80’s that it cannot be compared. Damn near everyone after he 60’s were inspired in one way or another from that decade.

    Heck, who am I kidding, green lasers are still cool.

    I met them at a mall at the peak of their fame in the early 90s. They were just shopping for clothes like normal everyday people. Super cool to meet my favorite band in person. I was going to their concert the next day and asked them to sign my ticket . Strangely it was the first time they'd seen their own concert ticket.

    Rick the drummer lost his left arm in a car accident and accommodations were made for him to continue with the band. He is one of the top drummers even today. I've seen them twice in concert and his drum solos are nothing but stellar. Rock on Rick! By the way I'm 64 and love my rock!

    Teslas first big tour was the opening act for Def Leppard when i saw them on this tour, both were SO good. High N Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria was a kick-ass run of albums in the 80s... the place went crazy for Ricks drum solo... what a story coming back from that injury... he and his wife do a lot of work with those who have suffered from a traumatic injury... good stuff from these guys.

    This whole album was created and produced using Boston tech. The same tech invented by Tom Scholz. That's why it sounds so good. Joe Satriani uses it as well. Among many others in the 80s.

  • @flynntaylor5459
    @flynntaylor5459 Před 2 lety +12

    Keep in mind that there is dual guitar action here, steven Clark 🙏 rip brilliant guitarist and unique player does the ping ping parts and Phil Collins the tech guitarist has the more rolling rock sound ... this was unusual in a rock band of their era.
    Steven, definitely broke the mold as a phenomenal guitar player and Collins as his wing man ... just wow 👌 👏.... incredible.
    I miss steven clark..the rock world cries for that loss. Phill really misses him and it must have been so crushing emotionally to complete Steven's part on that next album, to play like Clark which in not his style,

    Saw Def Leppard on the hysteria tour, what an amazing show they put on. The stage was in the center of the arena with fans on all sides!! Rick Allen’s drum kit rotated slowly for the entire concert and the band members took turns on which side of the stage they played on so all fans got a chance to see them!! I feel in love with the music long before this album and prefer the edgier early albums, not as over produced as their later stuff!! ❤🥁🎸

It doesn't matter who I show this to...everyone get's addicted. This one is something truly special and I can't imagine ever getting bored with it. Yeah, they were a great rock band with great albums and then this album came out which was very commercial and totally pop. I didn’t like it then and I still don’t like it now especially considering how good they were before this. People ate it up though and it has to be their greatest success, but to me that just determines what’s popular, not necessarily what’s good.
    To their credit though, I respect them for sticking by Rick Allen after his accident and Rick for his strength of spirit and his success at totally reinventing the way he played drums.
