- Saved by the pole! Loaded box truck almost rolls over over in Hollywood
Close, but no cigar. This box truck pulled over to make his deliveries, and nearly tipped over. Few theories on what happened, but I can't speculate. I'm just glad we were able to assist before something major happened.
I responded with Hulk, my 50ton 2020 Rotator, to lift and level the box using my spreader bar. Once safe, the off load crew was able to empty the truck and finish their deliveries, then put the rest of the load in a new box truck. Relatively quick and simple work compared to what I'm used to, but still done with the same professionalism as all jobs.
After the recovery portion was done, Joe used his 50ton wrecker to tow the unit back to the customer's yard.

Joe and Josh...love watching you guys do your thing .Joe deserves free coffee all day ,he is such a good natured guy ,and a willing worker.
Back in the late '80s, I worked for both Penske Truck Leasing and Budget Truck Rental, I've seen lots of broken boards. What a mess to repair as well, without having to remove all of the floorings. We made patches that passed the company's testing for all repairs we'd done, passed and them all. What I like repairing were the cornercaps, what a blast. Molding the corner with the lightning installed and sealing that repair back onto the truck. I'd put my initials inside both corners and they water tested it with hurricane-strength winds and rains without any problems meaning no leaks. We got the truck back some 2 years after we'd sent it to the main service center and they rented it out back to our location in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Both corner caps still had my initials on them and a couple of other tags stating that they were company-wide approved.
I’m glad to hear the companies had standards, and job well done! In the early 2000’s I worked as a forensic architecture technician. We had this homemade but well-designed spray rig for testing window leakage. I’d typically go up in a cherry picker with the rig attached and spray the windows of buildings from the outside. We would spray water at a set PSI /GPM/ set nozzle pattern and time how long it took for moisture to show up on the inside of the building- and see if the window installations lived up to their ratings.
Joe didn't spill his coffee. He spilled a cup of milk!!
Imagine gate keeping coffee, oh brother.
Always upbeat & so proffesional- That's what makes Pepe's so great!!!
I try, thanks
I’ve seen others take forever to put their spreader bars together. Very smart move on your part. Great job as always.
I use my spreader bar a ton, so it was only natural to do something to make the process more efficient.
There goes your earnings with that starbucks purchase, double cool job.
Josh another great video, Joe is awesome putting away your straps working together with you! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thanks to you and Joe.
It doesn't have to be a crazy wreck to be a great video!! Whether this is a "recovery" or not, you saved the day for sure!! Also, Joe is the ultimate support guy!! With or without his coffee. Wherever it may be. He does it all, he just needs his coffee.
Joe is absolutely the ultimate support guy, hence his name helpful Honda LOL
You forgot to put Joes TikTok in the description.
Not that I am on TikTok ....... but I would make an exception for Joe :)
Not exactly a cliffhanger, but interesting nonetheless. Good job, once again. 👍
I like that you are entertaining to watch. Your voice is so calming , you turn a stressful situation into a positive experience , your work ethic is very professional too.
Be Safe ☕️🧋
Funny you say that, I'm not a fan of my voice. But I guess everyone feels that way. Thanks for the kind words!
Very lucky driver with the pole to save his load!
A good video from you and Hulk can doing it no problem at all
I drive a Pete 388 with a 9055. Almost the same setup. Freaking love that truck. Having the 3 stage boom is so helpful!
It is a FANTASTIC truck!
I saw wrap that new truck with Mighty Mouse. Lol
I don't know what's up with Joe and his coffee. "Drink one...spill one". That area is one of the worst flat places in Los Angeles to work. That truck is up and out of there. Nice work.
Truly interesting. A lot goes into this. By the way thanks for the good filming!
Your videos are amazing awesome thank you for the way you explain everything going on wish you could post more videos
Hey Josh 7 Joe !! Yupper !!! Another recovery for the books !!! Been a longtime since seen a box break off the frame like that as usually it happens in a wreck !! Those frame U-bolts must have been loose for some time to break the boards like that ??? Have a cool week & ""KEEP IT SAFE """!!!
That's a good guess, someone else suggested it could have been hit with a forklift or termites even!
Another great video josh
Nice job. Different, but not beyond the Pepe's Krew. You guys need wide brimmed hats, you will cook in that sun!
As always a great video Josh:-) You and Joe are a great team and very efficient. I got to thinking...after the mangled railroad track box truck mess you posted a few days ago..the boxes themselves ride on wood vs metal to metal..thats kinda worrisome. This video is what I would imagine happening too...Im just glad that pole was there and nobody got hurt...except Joes coffee LOL
Keep up the great work and stay safe out there:-)
Hi Josh and Hulk, Joe with his brand New 50 recker. Josh, you really spoiling Joe! Brand New Truck, buying him Star Bucks 😁😊😀 You're a real great gentleman, as we your fans. Already have full knowledge that you take care of your staff and crew. I'm coming to join Pete's Towing Service, I only require McDonald's coffee and 30 tons Rotator ☺☺☺☺☺ September is bigger Flipper! Birthday 🎂🍨🍾 thanks for your showtime 📽🎬📷📺🎥 moment of truth. Stay Safe And Healthy.
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
good job guys
Nice video!!
We need a full tour video of all the trucks, equipment & vehicles in the Pepe’s fleet please ✔️
I have individual videos for Hulk and Big Flipper. Unfortunately those videos don't do too well view wise
New haircut looks good.
exelent done
Badass pete for helpful honda Joe
they didnt tighten the hanger bolts tight enough i had the dsame problem on a bobtail i was driving
great job josh and joe
Another one for the books
Josh: "hulk and a spreader bar...Name a better duo I'll wait"
any one of us: "Hulk and Josh" .....where's the mohawk bro lol. great job though guys, well done.. Joe is spoiled you're right. free coffee from the boss (well his son anyway) and his own brand new 50 ton straight stick..... I am jealous. Y'all got any job openings? I'll go start to get my class A license this week, and look for a house in Cali...
The mohawk believe it or not is a pain to keep up. As my hair grows, it looks ugly when it's flat lol and takes a long time to hold up
@@PepesTowingService oh I believe it bro. I had one in high school. Now imagine a (natural) red haired mowhawk spiked out… I remember waking up 20’ish mins earlier than normal to put globs of hair gel and hair spray in it…. Except the winter months, then it was just slicked back and I had a snow hat. Winters get cold here in NY haha. In all honesty though, the flatter hair style does in my humble opinion give off a more professional appearance too so that might be a better choice all around. I have been blessed to no longer have to worry about any of that, instead I gotta spend a couple minutes shaving off the last bit of hair on my head lol. Keep up the great work bro, as well as your engagement with fans here on the ‘tube it is appreciated as any of us can agree to that I’m sure.
Joe is going to have to quit getting Starbucks while working. That might get a little expensive for him.
#1 fan here late but still here 🍿
Hello #1 fan!
I visited LA in March and ate at that Dennys!
hi good job like joe new truck
Hard to find good hardwood these days. Soft wood doesn't last very long hauling heavy loads. They can get by with light loads.
Hey Josh - I'm a new subscriber. Great job as usual. HULK and Joe's rig: CLEAN MACHINES!!! Just curious, what are the particular's as far as Joe's under the hood power goes? Thanks. Take care.
All my years driving and I've never seen that until. 😮
Reefer madness
Thank you for letting me see this video
So, lost hair from Josh and lost Coffee from Joe. hectic. that pole must be a nice strong one to hold the truck until you could rescue it.
I think I'll send Joe a Starbucks gift card. Poor guy just can't enjoy his Frappuccino foo-foo drink!
He would love that!
We gotta blow up their tiktok accounts. Been following Joe since day 1 would love to see his blow up.
🔥🔥🔥
For some reason Joe doesn't get along with his Cup of Jo. Y'all take care and stay safe
Joe is beyond clumsy LOL, thanks
did you get a service discount on those drinks, hehehe.
I'd of used both lines to the spreader.. to control the side to side lift better.. the center pivot centered the load. Without directional control.... But I'm just a viewer! Enjoy the channel!
That defeats the purpose of a spreader bar, it's designed for a truly even lift. Two lines would make that impossible, despite how close you get, one side will always have more tension than the other even if it's slight.
not first. nice video in a tight spot
You always have crazy and interesting jobs. Is this because LA/Hollyweird is so kooky, or do you have counterparts in other big cities that have the same volume and variety of jobs?
LA is by volume and population one of the largest cities in the entire US, so it comes with the territory. Plus, I get calls a lot from people that just know our reputation and want the job done right.
Awesome job, Josh & Joe. How do you decide which number to give each truck? For example, is Joe's truck #88 because it's the 88th truck Pepe's owns?
I was wondering that, as well! To go from #33 to #85 means moving through a heck of a lot of equipment, though (I understand that Pepe's is a sizable towing company, but still...).
You are correct, we have a truck for almost every number up to 88 with some rare exceptions.
I've never understood why miller wants the spreader bar Uptop and the emd caps inside a box, double the work. Just leave them attached
Our trucks are obviously Miller trucks, but specced wayyy different than the Miller spec almost everyone else gets.
Lol, come to Australia, plenty of empty Starbucks here lol-three times they tried to start up a full chain countrywide, three times they closed down.… doesn't help they are overpriced and their so called coffee isn't as good as even a 'gas station' one here... Oz might like their beers, but they also have a long history of having good coffee, and Starbucks 'isn't' good coffee...
Damn, seems like Starbucks lives rent free in your head. Relax, it's not that serious.
Well technically if I saw hulk I'd feel like I saw a celebrity
Great content. Was the box truck loaded too heavy or maybe not loaded properly? The truck looks like it is new.
Probably a little of both I would say
Don't worry joe i got you with coffeeeeeeeee PAPI...i can SPOIL JOE
Good luck with the new truck, what's it's name, White Boy? Nice to hear the normal speed intro too.
Haha imagine the disaster if that was the actual name. And crazy that you noticed the intro speed! Shows you really pay attention. I like to speed it up a tad so people don't immediately loose interest in the intro.
@@PepesTowingService Hahahah, that would be awesome if it were the name though! Probably get some free publicity over it too.
Yeah, first time I heard the faster intro I had to go to another video to compare and make sure it wasn't me. But heard it the first time you did it and also the slower outro.
Did i see JOE PAPI CHULO heyyyy JOE
lmao
@@PepesTowingService papi chulo joe
Don’t know how you get your head artound that to do first.
Joe's TikTok link?
who makes your wrecker bodies miller?
Is Joe's new truck gonna get a tricked out decal wrapping 🤔 👀?
Negative, Hulk is the only one in our 80+ truck fleet with a wrap and it will stay that way.
Just tell Joe to have macgyver to engineer a coffee maker in his truck. It would be cheaper and taste so very better than the terrible coffee which spilled.
You don't like Starbucks?
Yes, they don't serve coffee, but the drinks they serve are tasty - I think.
@@Jehty_ starsux coffee taste terrible. Its very bitter and smells bad. In my area we have caribou coffee. Caribou's taste is strong, flavorful while lacking the starsux bitter taste and smell. Plus I won't go due to their political stance. With that said...Caribou Coffee may have exactly the same political philosophy but you never hear about it nor is it publicized even the slightest. I appreciate that fact and the staff is much more friendly, wholesome and personable unlike what I've seen and experienced in starbuck's in my years of professional musical traveling.
Wats in the truck musta shifted
I want a Starbucks coffee ☕️
No Mohawk?
Nice haircut
Can i plz get joe’s TikTok too i really love youre videos
not really overloaded but it looks like who ever loaded the truck didn't spread the weight of the load evenly plus the weight of that electric pallet jack [which probably weighs close to 1000 pounds alone] on one side instead in the middle of the box pulled the truck over when the driver parked in that rain trough.
Sure that wasn't caused by someone loading the trailer with a forklift, and it damaged the floor. Ive seen the same thing happen to a trailer on the bay.
Even so another incident free rescue.
No clue what caused it, but that's a good guess since the unit is pretty new.
wheres the links for the tik tok and the insta?
Josh, do you do all the editing of these vids? Don't know how you manage to do voiceover while rigging everything letalone find energy to get content ready & upload. Damn, bro!
Yup, I film and edit everything 100% solo. Guess you can say.....I'm a jack of all trades haha
Somebody isn’t doing pre trip
Whats been your Fav Job thus far and Why?
This year it would have to be either my Robertson job, the tractor w/ container dangling off the freeway or this container job I had to delete
Hi Josh, what is Joe’s TikTok?
I wonder how many kids watch your channel. Maybe you should get together with Tonka and release a towing truck & kit for kids! (Note to Self: find a kid so you'll have an excuse to play with one.)
Friends don't let friends drink Staryucks............: -O
Or, how about people eat or drink what they enjoy and not let it bother you?
I can’t believe you left your gear out there while you get coffee.. not so smart
Huh? What gear. Did you want me to park my truck inside Starbucks?
why 3 firetrucks. 1 would been enough?
You alright? There's zero fire trucks in this video
Truck did not hit the pole or tree, just sayin'
I have never seen or heard a wrecker driver talk and do nothing other worry about all of the other things including FILMING and making the job take about twice as long as it would take a regular operator OH But I forgot , Daddy Owns The Company. OH Also worries about the coffee.
Tell me you're jealous of me without telling me you're jealous 😂😂 under an hour to set up a spreader bar and hold it while they off load, is twice as long? You're obviously an idiot, take off the hater glasses and open your eyes, my quality speaks for itself son
Just a pro tip on the side, it's perfectly OK to be good at your job AND have fun. Try it sometime, maybe you'll be less miserable. Also, thanks for commenting and watching, you know I get revenue for that right? I love when idiots trash talk, because it still makes me money 😂
@@PepesTowingService That guy is jealous Josh... LOL and you do make $$ from him watching... You got the last laugh all the way to the bank...
Don’t worry Josh he’s probably never worked a day in his life keep up the good work it’s a pleasure to watch you work and enjoy your self at the same time. Keep safe out there.
good job guys
