  • Dating Mexican women has been an interesting experience, to say the least.
In this video I’m going to tell you what it has been like dating in Mexico - and that includes both dating Mexicans and dating other expats like myself.
I’ll also be discussing cultural differences and how I’ve found dating Mexican girls to be different from dating American girls.
I moved to Mexico over 4 years ago but for most of that time I’ve been in a relationship with an American girl. However, for about the past year I’ve been single and it has allowed me to see a very different side of life in Mexico.
These are the problems and perks that come with dating in Mexico and dating Mexican women.

When I met my husband I knew only basic english. He got a dictionary , so we can communicate, after the first date he bought the same dictionary for me. That’s how we comunicate while dating. Two months later we got married and today May 7th we are celebrating 17 years of marriage in the beautiful Cancun. Was it crazy to marry a stranger after two months? Yes, but it was totally worth it. I met my wife while she was in the US visiting her sister. I was living in Kansas at the time. I grew up in Southern California in various ethnic neighborhoods and was around Spanish a lot. If you asked me then if I spoke Spanish, I would have said "a little". Now I know, I spoke a few words and could conjugate present tense of the -ar verbs and that was is. Anytime I met anyone who spoke Spanish, I'd try to practice those same 12 words I knew. lol. I met my wife, who had just arrived from Mexico and began speaking to her. We had instant chemistry and a couple months later, we were a couple. That was April of 2007. Now, we've been together for 15 years, married for 13 and have two kids.
I bought two books since I figured it'd be easier for me to learn Spanish than her to learn English. I bought Barron's 501 Spanish Verbs and a Vox Spanish English Dictionary. We eventually moved down to Mexico together for a year and then returned to the states in 2009. The cultural differences are the most difficult, I think. But, she and I are kindred spirits and I couldn't imagine my life without her.

As a Mexican woman, I think if the girl you’re dating accepts you are seeing other girls, most of the time that means she isn’t serious. And if they invite you on a trip that may mean they just want to have fun, but you’re not suitable guy for them. Watch out. Good luck, and I hope you find the one. One advice…. Mexicans like faithfulness. Seeing many people at once is a big turn off if you are looking for a serious relationship.

He still loves me. He's finally trying harder to learn English. I think we figured out he has a slight learning disability so it just takes him more effort to focus. We are taking about 400k immigrants per year but they are all degree holders and don't work in construction, and we have severe environmental and municipal regulations that stop the growth of the housing market. Don't follow in our direction.

This reminds me of Italy where dating is not a casual affair but about your destiny, your future. It's the first step in a commitment that inevitably leads to marriage and children. This is why the girls seem competitive. They're vying for that empty spot by your side for life.
It's a bit awkward culturally to say you're dating multiple people when they are seeing it as a unique experience and possibly the beginning of something greater.

I appreciate your perspective on dating Mexican women. I agree with you, most young, educated middle class women are not interested in a visa or money. They look at you and see that you are attractive. Once they meet you they probably see that you are are also chill, sweet and interesting so any woman in the world would find that attractive. What is a red flag is anyone trying to move too quickly or tell you they love you without knowing you well. And this isn’t just in Mexico, it’s here in the US too.

Many chatted with me for several weeks but when I tried to actually meet them they would either not show up or just stop messaging me. Expats were very reliable and did keep their commitment. Im a very educated woman with a really good career that pays me above average but I never met people in my same income category such as doctors or engineers. Interesting! I felt some big red flags when you said TWO of the Mexican women had the same MO: wanting to see the other girl's photo, putting the girl down, and then immediately asking you to go on a trip with them somewhere private. This sounds like a scam that's going on in Columbia, where the girls will go back to the guy's apartment and slip him a drug to knock him out. Then she and her friends rob him of everything they can. The worst part: many times they give the guy too much drug and he dies. BE CAREFUL around strangers.

    1) If searching for a human toy, pretty might matter to you, although my experience is that humans make exceedingly bad toys. If however you are searching for a soul-mate for the long ride, nothing could be less important, in or out of bed.
    2) If a potential love interest wants to take you to a private hideaway for five days after one date, its not just odd. It's life-threatening. The chance is more than slight that several large cousins with weapons will pay you a visit insisting on an undesired visit to an ATM. When courting as in life, you big head should be in charge, not the little one.

In colonial times there was a caste system that developed in the early Mexican society where whiter people were treated better. Indigenous people were not treated well. Even though we live in 2022 some of the remnants of that still exists. Mexican women definitely try to date up as much as possible and see young men from the U.S. as great potentials. One thing that you need to draw more attention to is your target dating pool. I appluad you for dating women in your socioeconomic group - education level, economic stability, etc. If you tried to go lower your experiences would be very different. Also, if you try go higher you would have other experiences.
Finally, as I tell all men who have asked me, SPEAK SPANISH or LEARN IT. It is a very easy way to show sincerity and respect. True intimacy is impossible without communciation. Also, you cannot truly understand the culture and its nuances without speaking the language.

I'm Mexican American and have dated American (both very Americanized Mexicans and all other Americans) and Mexican (born and raised in Mexico or born in US but heavily Mexican culture). Mexican culture, women EXPECT the man to pay for everything. American culture, women expect the man to pay but also expect that the woman will offer to pay. The woman will also likely pay for some dates after several dates while Mexican women expect men to pay for the rest of life. American women are indeed much more flakier and cancel far more frequently than Mexican. Mexican women do get far more jealous. I don't think we ever discussed if we were seeing other people while we were dating but it seemed to be common sense we were exclusive. We lived half an hour apart and saw eachother almost every day. We got married in 16 months. I learned Spanish FAST. We used ALOT of Google translate. We speak almost exclusively Spanish in our home but also have our own kinda lingo with Spanish and English mixed lol. Some people ask my sister in laws what language are we using! My husband took me to the movies as 'friends' with my sisters. I loved it and he hasn't left my side since lol.

I first visited Colombia when I was 47 years old because I had learned Latin dancing and wanted to meet some girls I became Facebook friends with. After 30 days with gorgeous graceful feminine women, I realized that there was not a possibility I would ever date an American woman again.
Now, at age 61, I am moving to Ecuador and Uruguay to be with my South American girlfriend.
A great way to filter out the gold diggers and green card hustlers is to tell them up front that you are moving to South America to live, and that they therefore have no need for an American visa. That is the LAST thing these kinds of girls want to hear, and they will self-eliminate. Not a problem. dating sites have hundreds of Latin girls who are not flakey like American girls, and you can be sure they will show up to meet you and will often want a meaningful relationship with you.

I'm Mexican, and I'd never ask a person to see the photo of the woman he dated before. I think that's not respectful for any of the people involved. I would not say that most Mexican women act as if they were "competing" with other women for a man. For sure, that happens, but it depends on the kind of environment you live in and what you are looking for. In general, I didn't like this video. All I heard from you was about your experiences searching for beautiful women.
