HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU WERE JUST QUOTING THAT GUY'S SHIRT. That shit's real? Someone....a human being thought that up and then decided to make that into a shirt. Holy shit man.....
@@DissentingDogLevi Furthering the point, the usual chuds who inhale this sort of shit got tired of films and shows portraying the "boring" troops (i.e. Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan), so a lot of modern war films are filled to the brim with Operators and SEALs and the like because that's the new ideal soldier (Hurt Locker, 13 Hours, American Sniper). Plus, Operator gear looks tactical as fuck, and therefore commands more respect. Any old chump can get a free Sunday lunch special from Luby's wearing mismatched BDUs and New Balances, but it takes a real hardass motherfucker to drop serious ducats on surplus Ranger gear in time for Veteran's Day deals at the mall.
@@JoeSixThreeOh I am glad you brought that up because I noticed that most modern movies about war focus on Operators. I think they are doing that because they know that the Army and the Marines are more mixed politically. Sure there are conservatives and centrists, but there are also liberals and even leftists in the Army and Marines. They are all there for different reasons whether it is patriotism, jingoism, to escape poverty or trying to get rid of their student loan debt. That would make for an interesting movie actually that would show how flawed and human the troops are. But sadly the people that they get the most money from, old right wingers who may or may not have ever fought in a war, would never pay to watch a movie where there are atheist leftist troops who joined to support his or her family. So nowadays the war movies are using Operators because those guys are well known for being mostly conservative, with some being open about being Christian fundamentalists. It doesn't cause people to question anything or think about what the grunts or even the officers feel, and instead just shows nothing but battle scenes.
@@DissentingDogLevi sigh you're right but you're wrong. This is gonna be a bit (ok very) pedantic but I'm a soldier and a born pedant. Operator refers to Special Operations Troops (or service members if you prefer) not Special Forces Soldiers. There's a difference. Soldiers are only in the Army, not the Navy, Marine Corps or Airforce. The Navy has Sailors, the Airforce has airmen, and the Marine Corps has marines. Special Forces in the US specifically and almost exclusively refers to the US Army Special Forces better known as Green Berets. Special Operations is a bigger blanket that encompasses MARSOC but not all Marines (Marine Special Operations Command), US Army Delta Force, the Navy SEALS especially DUVGRU, arguable the Army Rangers, Airforce PJs, and a couple of other specialized elite military groups.
I'm curious as to why the armed servicemen are given military discount in many retail and fast food places in the UK? I mean, if it's because they're willing to risk their lives for their country then, fine I get it. But I'm not allowed in any branch of the military or emergency services (police, fire rescue & even ambulance) because of a medical condition. Yet I'm more than willing to go through their training system and dive head first into difficult situations to help people. So why can't I get discount? What makes them more deserving than me? From my perspective it's dripping with privilege.
@@michaelhall5429 I'm not even allowed to apply for ANYTHING in the navy or airforce. If there's anything I could possibly do in the army, it would just be an office job I won't enjoy. For every guy who gets in, there are probably 10 or 20 guys who weren't even given a chance. It's such bullshit. Soldiers aren't better than me so I wont kiss there arse the way conservatives always do.
If there was, idk a real director with actual neurons firing in his skull, they would’ve immediately realized the golden opportunity they had with a movie like this to effectively make the true film adaptation of Spec Ops: The Line. A bunch of supposedly stable and strong-willed operator idiots that get thrown into some alien world that they can’t properly navigate without harming thousands of people in the process. And the only thing they get to show for all the trouble they went through (being “justice” and “law” into this area) are scars and trauma that they leave in their wake.

HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU WERE JUST QUOTING THAT GUY'S SHIRT. That shit's real? Someone....a human being thought that up and then decided to make that into a shirt. Holy shit man.....
@@manifesto_mindset I weep for my countrymen lmfao
Only red and white, no blue?
This movie is propaganda for Polish Military Supremacy as part of a giant conspiracy between Poland and the US
@@Moneyaddthenmultiply Yeah, pew is actually a lovely shade of cerulean and these people have flawless aesthetics
Keith David no...........
Does felix need to mention gaming fuckin every 5 minutes
Poor Keith david
Anyone know what episode this is??
Who are operators?? Who are they referring to?
Operator is a word for special forces soldiers. Like a green beret or a navy seal
I have a beard and a furrowed brow
Ok but from what I'm hearing about this makeup thing, you can't make movies without gays and women. that's where they went wrong on the makeup front
Keith David is in the movie???
The problem with Stripes is that it takes like an hour to start.
Yes, but Harold Ramis' performance was the best.
And another hour to end.
They show full bush in the shower scene though

I'm curious as to why the armed servicemen are given military discount in many retail and fast food places in the UK? I mean, if it's because they're willing to risk their lives for their country then, fine I get it. But I'm not allowed in any branch of the military or emergency services (police, fire rescue & even ambulance) because of a medical condition. Yet I'm more than willing to go through their training system and dive head first into difficult situations to help people.
So why can't I get discount? What makes them more deserving than me?
From my perspective it's dripping with privilege.
You can be a drone operator bud. That's all it will be in a decade or so. Just need a lanyard to let everyone at greggs know what's up
@@michaelhall5429 I'm not even allowed to apply for ANYTHING in the navy or airforce.
40:15 Political Compass: The Movie.
I wanna know who Ross Patterson's character in this movie is based on. Because Mat Best does so much insecure whining about him it leads me to believe it's based on real life. There's a story here.
Wait did I get that right about Duterte? They're unsure if he is good or bad?
