Toby wrote what all of us were feeling after 9/11. My daughter & I saw him several times, & every time he'd do that song, the crowd went wild. Unfortunately, no one will be able to see him perform live again. Sadly, he passed away Monday February 5, 2024 from stomach Cancer that he'd been battling for a few yrs.😭
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the men & women who are serving our country now, & to our Veterans for all you are doing & have done for us.❤️
💔
Amen God bless his family and all our veterans active duty n all first responders ❤❤❤
Toby Keith was an unabashed patriot. His other wonderful song honoring those who serve is called "American Soldier."
AMEN!
Toby wrote this song right after 9/11. This was also the first song I learned all the words to, I was like 3 or 4
Same here, I remember being 5 or 6 and just getting my first CD player. My mom had the album and I listened to it and this song specifically non-stop
ALL the words? 😳 oh my... 😂
Pretty sure when this came out, he had said it only took him 30 minutes to write. 9/11 definitely had emotion flowing out from everyone.
Merrica babyyy!!!
Same here. I was 8 and one of the first song I even remember knowing the name of.
My dad served in Vietnam, wouldn't talk much about his time over there, BUT he did talk about Johnny Cash coming over and he shook his hand, meant A LOT to him!
That's actually really cool man respect to your dad
Yeah my grandpa served in Vietnam too he has never told me anything about the war but my parents have told me a little bit and they go through a lot 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Respect to him
My brother served in Vietnam, 2 tours, almost 3. The man who Was my brother when he went did not come back as my big brother. He came back with a “ tick” in his right shoulder, he curse at everybody but our dad.The only person Jim would talk about Vietnam with was our dad. I was very firmly told by my father, to never ask Jim about Vietnam ( I was smart enough to know not to). He started “drinking” as my sweet mother called it. But that wasn’t all he did…. Or use….. Jim is going now, cancer of the colon. H e never went to a doctor…. He died 9-10-2019, was cremated, I have no idea where is ashes are. His girlfriend got everything…I don’t care, I just miss him, I miss my big brother.
My daddy was in WW2. After he died we found hundreds of photos and medals. The greatest generation never talked about it. My daddy was in the Philippines.
I'm watching this reaction February 10, 2024. It's heartbreaking that Toby Keith lost his battle with cancer on February 5th. He is a true American hero. It was always an honor to him to be able to go entertain our troops. I believe they said he made like 13 trips overseas. RIP.
I knew Toby...it was his honor to go play for the troops..He loved doing it...Rest In Peace Toby, you did your part...
So sad to lose someone so good. Thank goodness we have these videos to watch and share with others.❤
Toby not only talked the talk, he walked the walk. He went 11, 11 times, name me one celab that came close to that. You can't. Hollywood celebrities are pussies.
Vets are always saying, "I'm no Hero, I was just doing my job." Sorry, I love the humility and respect for the Fallen, but damnit y'all are Heroes! I couldn't be more grateful for you guys. Nor, could I respect you guys any more, than I already do.
Most say that because they made it home. Truthfully they are all hero’s they just don’t see it that way. I was born and raised in the AF married Army. My parents and husband just see it as a service to their country. I’ve seen my husband lose soldiers. Physically he’s safe. Sometimes mentally not so. We also made amazing friends over the years. I could go one but 🤷🏼♀️😂 I’ll ramble then cry lol.
@@sil1598 I watched an interview of a D-Day Veteran, named Frank Devita. He said, "I'm no Hero, I'm just a Survivor. The Heroes are the ones that didn't come home."
The Survivor's Guilt must be absolutely devastating to Veterans. Like you say and I agree %100, they are all Heroes! Thank you for your and your family's service to this country! Regardless of what is going on atm in this country, there are FAR more grateful citizens, than not.
Hooah! Thank you for your support …
Couldn't agree more. I love their humility and humbleness but, there comes a point where it's like, "STAND UP A TAKE A BOW!" LIKE THE SONG SAYS, YOU WERE FIGHTING, GOING THROUGH THINGS WELL NEVER KNOW, SO WE CAN FEEL SAFE WHEN WE LAY DOWN OUR HEADS! But, as heroic as they are, and proud, they always be humble about it and that makes them even more.... STRONG, CARING, AND BRAVE PEOPLE! MUCH APPRECIATED 💯🇺🇸🙏 Hope that last sentence made sense, like it did in my head!
I can only like your statement once, unfortunately!
Love our vets and all whom fight for for America
A great song by a great country singer and a great American. .....RIP Toby Keith😢♥️🇺🇸
Thank you for your service. I’m glad people still show patriotism.
Rest in peace Toby Keith. To me, this wasn’t just a response after 9/11, it was Toby’s tribute to all men and women that have served. From the far past, to the recent present, and the future yet seen.
This amazing song is sitting at 76 million view as of July 4 2024. Still needs to be in the billions
First time I met Toby Keith was when I was recuperating in Germany after being shot down over Iraq. This vet truly appreciates all that come over and support us when they don’t have to thank you my brother’s for your service. 3 wars, over 300 combat missions USNVP
He donated most of the proceeds from this song to the injured veterans….wounded warriors..He gives a lot back to the veterans…He is a really great famous person but isn’t that guy who thinks he above everyone very humble….He gives back and remembers where he came from.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸..Much Respect for Toby Keith
You mentioned Bob Hope. My grandfather saw him in WW2 on Guadalcanal, my Uncle saw him in Korea, I saw him when I was at DaNang Vietnam, and my daughter saw him in Japan a few years before he couldn’t tour anymore. A great man who we all loved.
Veterans are special because what they do is not only heroic, it is giving their all for the love of their country. They love the USA and their families more than themselves, so much so they will sacrifice their lives for America. That's one of the reasons they stay in our hearts forever. And we can't even pay them back for their sacrifices, we don't have anything to give that's worthy of what they do for us. We love you and pray God blesses all of you. Thank you. And thank you, Stan. You make us proud to be American.❤❤❤
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Toby Keith, Craig Morgan, The Zack Brown Brand, Trace Adkins, and a few others are very patriotic and have been overseas to perform for the soldiers and such. Truly amazing.
FFDP is a good metal band who lives out veterans
Carrie Underwood also, I met her in 2015 in Iraq
Don't sleep on the legend Robin Williams, He went over multiple times.
Coffey Anderson is legend
GARY SINESE
Thank you so much for your service. God bless you & God bless the USA! 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏
My dad is in his 70s...he was in Vietnam... He still talks about Bob Hope and Phyllis Diller coming to his camp. He drove the portable bridges and ration trucks. The ppl that come to entertain the troops make more of a difference than most of them realize.
Stan, you really touched my heart. Thank you sir, for your sacrifice and service. It means the world to me. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
RIP Patriot Toby.. You will be missed.
What a gift you gave to us.❤🙏🇺🇲
Nice reaction. Active duty Army 1990-1994 here.
RIP Toby Keith
toby performed for more than 250,000 troops in 17 countries during his 11 USO tours❤
Thank you for your service Stan! You are so right, I get so emotional when Veterans are recognized. My husband was 22 yrs Navy and I am honored to have been associated.
Navy vet here, 1964 to 1970! Thanks for serving !
I had three sons in service. They all feel uncomfortable when people come up and thank them for their service. And I tell them they need to receive people's gratitude because people need to be grateful. A nation that is ungrateful is a dark and ugly place. They'll respond back that they were just doing a job. And I tell them they signed their name on a check that never got cashed but they signed. They put their lives on the line. The fact that they didn't die or suffer it doesn't count. They stepped up and got up on the front line and signed the check. Thank you for your service sir
I hate it when people Thank Me for My Service. I just say Thank You. I went in the Navy 2 years after the final pullout from Nam when alot of citizens still hated the military. I was in foe 12 years and the closest to danger was 1978 Israel and 1980-81 sailing off the coast of Iran and we left when Reagan took office and the hostages were freed. We thought about what if we were attacked but we just had a job to do. They talk of survivors guilt but it also affects Vets wondering why we were never in combat and we got to come home.
@@user-tx6hl9fx4x
I see this as one way a veteran can look at his or her service. But, that's not how most Americans look at it. Regardless of what duty a vet is assigned to, what the timing of their service was, it is the fact that they are away from home, usually for long periods of time, missing their families, holidays, children growing, ready to follow orders whatever they are, whatever the outcome. It is not what their service entails, it's just that we are here at home with our loved ones living our normal, safe lives and our servicemen and women are not. That's one reason why we want to say thank you. Another reason is we are proud of you for voluntarily being in the service of our country in whatever capacity, being ready for whatever may occur and to do what is necessary in your job, and that we are so happy you are back home and we love you all.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏
Love this song even though my eyes start t water. I am also a Navy veteran. Thanks to all my brothers and sisters who served and are serving this country.
God bless you, Toby. RIP.
By the way, that last line gets me every time. "Of MY red, white, and blue!"
RIP Toby Keith you will be missed
Please do "American Soldier" by Toby Keith.
Great song!
Back in 2005, my husband was deployed for the first of three times to Iraq between the years of 2005 and 2010 (he was honorably discharged in 2011). And this song, it made me damn proud to be a combat soldier's wife. While he did, thank God, return to us in one piece, physically, the same cannot be said for his mental state. He's spent years since that FIRST deployment trying to be okay. The second and third deployments, each a bit over one year, weren't as traumatic as the first, but weren't a piece of cake by any means... but that first one, in 2005, changed my husband. I am SO grateful for ALL of you out there who served. My father did, during Vietnam, my grandfather (maternal side) fought at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, so all the men I love have served, all in the US Army, Field Artillery. Not sure how that happened, but I'm grateful beyond words for all the men and women who stood beside each of them. THANK YOU for your service.
My daddy was in North Africa in WWII. My best friend was an airborne ranger in Vietnam. They talked about things together they never told anyone else. One battle my father was in 7,000 allied forces went into a pass only 3,000 came out alive. God bless our soldiers
Being a Veteran is a brotherhood I feel so honored to be a member of! Hey Stan, don't take no crap. My grandpa was a squid in WWII, and this ole sod stomper is damned proud of his service!
Toby has performed before a lot of military both overseas and here in America.
Yeah he used 911 to make money. Then retired because he made so much. Get woke.
The Big Mexican Troll actually he wasn’t even gonna publicly release this song outside of the military but some officers convinced him to post him after performing at those military bases
@@thebigmexicantroll6581 no he still performs and he is a proud American and was pissed about 911
I saw him in Iraq, amazing concert.
@@thebigmexicantroll6581 stop being a douche.
The charge that he gives each person there when there was so much going on after 9/11 chokes me up every single time. Great choice!
1. Enjoy your reactions Gentlemen.
2. Stan: Thank You for your Service Sir.
Veterans are the real patriots of the United States 🇺🇸 🇺🇲 You deserve ALL the respect 🙏 👏 🙌
TOBY PASSED AWAY on February 2024 STOMACH CANCER 😢😢😢...BUT HIS MUSIC WILL LIVE ON FOREVER.

So much sacrifice for leaders who are so unworthy. It's heartbreaking.
I’m a native Okie and the scoop on Toby Keith is he is the real deal. Story about his dad is true. I have listen to the song 100 times and it still gives me goosebumps.
I am so glad you guys got to hear it, and Stan bless you for your service to our country.
I'm an Okie too
9-11-19 watching thinking of those who sacrifice. Retired 21yrs
Jeff Thank you for your sacrifice. Welcome home sir...🇺🇸❤️
Jeff 23 years here...thank you for your courage and all those who have served. Salute
Thank you for your service! You are a true hero!
Thank you for the kind words. Pleasure
For those that thanked me for my service, I appreciate it BUT, please start simply sayin “Never Forget” for me that says more. I volunteered and was trained to do what I did. I’m no hero, I volunteered, I was trained to do what I did/do.........the Real hero’s are those everyday people who go above and beyond, flight 91, teacher who died in a school shooting to protect her students, etc etc. I would like to think that the thing I sacrificed for has not been forgotten. I’d like to think that people would remember that the American Experiment is about making the INDIVIDUAL king. That’s worth sacrificing. ALL individuals, not this group or that group etc. Lose the heard mentality, I’m a republican/Democrat etc, this religion that religion........it’s simply about the individual.........any group by definition is not about the individual, the trick is to remain an individual and work together to solve individual needs. One should Come Before The Many, it’s the only way to stay free. Each INDIVIDUAL respecting the other as an individual and treating them accordingly. OK, done with my morning rant.
Toby is the only one still dedicated to go overseas every year. Toby is the new Bob Hope... others might come a little but Toby is always there, and totally a regular guy.
My father-in-law served 3 1/2 yrs in Europe during WWII, my dad served in Korea, oldest brother in Vietnam, older brother 22 yrs Army, grandsons in Army and Navy during the last 10 yrs - EVERY one are heroes.
Every REAL America respects serving members and veterans…. PERIOD!
NAH
Thank you to all the men and women that have and are protecting our countries freedoms
Sincerely Thank You
The song was written in late 2001, and was inspired by Keith's father's death in March 2001, as well as the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States later that year. It was released in May 2002 as the lead single from the album, Unleashed.
RIP to my favorite country music musician
RIP Toby Keith 😢😢😢❤❤❤
Read the honorary plaque, that was him riding in the tank, Toby Keith: Tank Commander
I thank y'all for your service GOD BLESS ya'll. I'm a 70-year-old Southern woman who had 10 Aunt's and Uncle's. From my grandfather, my father, my brother, add a whole passel of cousins. I've had family that served in every single branch of the military AND the COAST GUARD !! People have a tendency of forgetting the Coast Guard is a branch of the military. They protect our water boundaries. Also let's give thanks to the military families because they go through hell worrying and praying that their loved ones come home alive. And God BLESS 🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔💔 the military families that have lost a loved one. 💔💔💔. Maybe One Day by God's grace and a miracle there will be a day when we no longer have to worry about war and hate and stupidity. What I don't understand is different races different nations can sit together and eat food together or even just listen to music together with no hate and no prejudiced. Why can't we do that just an everyday life, if you see somebody smile ask how they're doing are just even wave hello. If you see somebody stumble or fall give him a hand help them out. If you see somebody on the sidewalk that's homeless if you don't have a lot give them some change, buy them something to eat and drink, if you can rent a hotel room to stay in even if it's just for one night. When the world be so much better if the haters would quit looking at somebody because of their color or nationality. ALL people if they bleed their blood is the color red you don't have some that bleed purple or orange or polka dot. We "" ALL "". Bleed red blood. We are All God's children. But until then thank all of our VETERANS for keeping us free in a land where good or bad we can speak our mind. Much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ to our Military past and present.
love you toby RIP 2/5/2024 know you are with god
I miss Toby so much
Real men cry in the face of bravery & honor. Thank you for being a man. We have too many boys in this country now-a-days.
People have made negative comments about this song. But they need to put this song in the proper context. This was written right after 9/11. People were angry. Pissed. Scared. And this song hit a national vein and helped MOST of us come together for once, against a common enemy. It is definitely an angry and defiant song, which was how most people I knew personally were actually feeling in those immediate days, weeks, months after the attack on American soil. Traumatized but ANGRY! And America doesn't back down. We could not let that stand.
Thank you, sir, for your service! ❤❤❤
This always makes me cry😭...my deceased dad USMC veteran of Vietnam 3 tours. Support our vets, always ....
I'm a huge Toby Keith fan. I served in the United States Navy like Stan. I served during the Iraq War and I was proud to serve my country. God bless all military service members retired and active. Thank you for your service to our beautiful country.
Thank you Sir, for your service!❤
Got to see his concert right after September 11th when this song was big... he brought EVERY veteran up on stage to hang with him when he sang this one!! LOVED IT!
Service members just say I was doing my job. But your JOB is keeping people free and safe! Thanks to all of you we sleep peacefully! You are ALL heroes in my book!
Toby Keith is a badass and he genuinely cares for our troops
never had the pleasure of seeing him in concert but one day I will
Toby Keith is a Military son. And he has been on the front line many times although he’s never been in listed he has been on the front line entertaining our troops throughout his career.
RIP Toby Keith gone but never forgotten
Everyone,Toby could use your prayers as he battles stomach cancer. Pray for his family also.
Thank you gentleman for your service. God bless the United States of America
Pray for Toby Keith as he battles cancer.
Stan, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! Because of you, I am free. Much respect to the true Hero.
S - thank you for your service Brother.....utmost respect for all who have served and currently serve! 💞💞💞💞💞
Thank you to ALL Veterans for all you do
US Navy here as well. Vietnam Vet. It warms my old heart to see the way the Vets are respected now, but a little sad because we of our era were not greeted so warmly. But hey, it is what it is. Glad things have changed.
Goosebumps. Every single time.
Bob Hope is one of the few honorary veterans in American history for all he did for the troops
9/11 tribute and for his father who passed away. Proud American and thank you for your service. I can lay down at peace at night because of you.
Still a soldier by Trace Adkins, please!!! I’m a 5 year Army (82nd Airborne) vet, been out for 20 years and this hits me right in the gut, amazing veteran dedication 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
All the way
Toby kicks butt! From what I know, it seems like most of the entertainers who go and entertain the troops are country music stars. They just seem to have bigger hearts and be more patriotic. If you haven't already, please react to Trace Adkins song Arlington oh, it is beautiful and very moving..
Stan, thank you for your service. May God bless you.
We only play this song on the 4th of July my brother won’t let us play it any other day. I love our country and I’m so thankful for the men and women that keep us safe and keep us free. My grandpa severed in Vietnam
Don’t know if you know this but this song was written right after 9/11. That’s where the whole (The Angry American) comes from and the meaning behind it
Yeap, Toby used that tragedy to make money
PAPA BEAR you must not know him very well. He wasn’t doing it for any money whatsoever
@@emilyblack3927 He did not make money with the song? are you sure? LOL
PAPA BEAR did I say that? No I said he didn’t make the song for receiving money. He didn’t release the song for the longest time and only played it for our troops overseas. He only released it because the troops kept telling him to share it with everyone
@@emilyblack3927 Of course he did......LOL
My dad would always say I don’t stand up because I wasn’t active. I always thought that was the most admirable thing that someone could do!
That’s Toby, he is an Oklahoman through and through. He got his start in music by singing and writing jingles. He used to sing “the spirit of Oklahoma, for channel 9 in OKC. He is a humble man.
Thank You for Your Service
Thank you for your service. My husband was in the Navy during the Vietnam War serving on an aircraft carrier. He now gets people thanking him for his service that didn't happen for over 30 years. We need to always thank our service men and women and their families for their sacrifice for our country.
Forget the video, man...Thank you for your service!!! My dad was a Marine, and almost every man in my (large) extended family was in some branch of the military. I salute you!
his place in Norman, OK. has a huge American flag out front of his place and it's beautiful, makes me misty eyed evertime I drive that way. what you see with Toby Keith, is what you get. one of the great guys. proud he's from Oklahoma.
Thank you for your service. Thank you so much. Just to let you know, Jesus loves you and he died for you and its by his grace that anyone makes it out alright.
Thank you for your service Stan! God bless!
Your welcome!!!. I am honored
I have so much respect for you and all that have served this Country. You are all willing to sacrifice so much, including your lives for others and I am forever grateful for that. Thank you for your service and to all the other vets who may read this. You are all true Red, White and Blue American Heroes. With my hands over my heart and prayers every night to those have and are currently serving, may God bless you all and keep you safe. Amen.
THIS should be our national anthem!
Thank you S for your service and B thank you for your father's service I appreciate all vet and the men and women who are serving
I was over there for Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, Fleet Hospital 5 (first Operational Fleet Hospital in history) Navy Hospital Corpsman (medic). We got Steve Martin, the comedian. But by the time he made it to our area he suffered from heat stroke. So instead of being entertained by him, our group had to take care of him and nurse him back to health. I wasn't on duty at the time so didn't get to see him, but my friend got me Steve's autograph, which I still have. I understand he continued his tour despite how sick he'd been at Fleet Hospital 5. Amazing man, and all those people who try to bring up our morale. Amazing!
Sadly I wasn't able to serve so I went into law enforcement, but my eldest daughter, my mother, my father, my uncle, my grandfather's and many many more of my ancestors PROUDLY served. Well my daughter is currently serving, she's a US AIRMAN. I'm so thankful to all the men and women who currently serve or had served in our armed forces. I may not always agree with the wars we fight, but I will always SUPPORT those who serve. ❤️
I seen Toby Keith in concert along with Trace Adkins and Eric Church many years back. It was one of the best concerts I've been to. Right before he sang courtesy of the red white and blue he had all the veterans in the audience come on stage.
I just came on here. Been watching a lot Toby videos. He's battling stomach cancer but is doing ok. I live about 30 miles from him and was acquainted with his father ( in the video). Loved your heartfelt reaction. Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He went to 17 to different country’s and did over 250 shows and yes they went through the wire to help them that’s what gets me the most
Thank you to all the veterans who served & are serving in the arm services.
Listen to Have you forgotten by Daryl Worley
Toby Keith is pure Red White and Blue.
Stan, thank you very much for your service. I salute you and your bravery.
Army Vet here but as much shit as we sometimes gives each other there Stans right there is no wrong branch
prayers to Toby and to cure his cancer.
Thank you, sir, for your service. And next to your uniform hat, you're wearing the next best, go Steelers!
