I bought a DEFECTIVE YSL BAG !!! YSL LOU camera bag Quality Issues
Hi! Today I'm sharing my story with a defective YSL Lou camera bag! It's my first time experiencing quality issues from YSL. I bought my YSL Lou camera bag in Rome and realized the the zipper was bulging and was very hard to open and closed. I did end up returning the defective YSL bag and exchanging it to a new one in the same, navy color. I have used the bag and also give you my review and unfourtnately I'm a bit disappointed...

Yeah they did… and seems like that didn’t see this as a problem/defect.. for sure I’m staying away from this style and go for College instead
I have owned many bags from YSL and had many many issues with quality I'm surprised there isn't many videos like yours to be honest!
Oh really?! What other bags and issues did you have with YSL?? I own a few other bags from them and came say anything bad about them. Only this Lou camera bag was a big disappointment to me. But I agree those issues should be more spoken about.. if you don’t mind I would be happy to hear what quality issues you have experienced with them? 🙏🏻
@@Natalia_Kowal owned 2 college bags... first one was perfect ..sold it regretted it so bought the large version the handle started peeling and other areas had issues peeling was the main issue! the bag was also disformed in shape luckily YSL gave me my refund as agreed it was faulty! I have owned 4 Lou Camera bags again first one perfect sold it to get a change of colour as fancied a change the side parts( glazing)where the strap connects to the bag peeled so bad it shown thread basically they gave me a refund and had the issue further 2 times all different bags different colours! Luckily I have had my refunds. I adore the bags and my first ones earlier designs were amazing the others were just so poor unfortunately! I have the mini lou camera bag which is in caviar leather and a little more robust!
@@Laura-zc7ns thank you for sharing Laura! I’m a big lover of the College bag! One of mine is slightly deformed but I try to keep it shaped when I don’t use it and it helps (I don’t think the issue is big enough for taking back to the boutique, I actually thought was my OCD 😉)
anyways, I’m glad that they have accepted the bags back and you got your refunds! At least in this they are fair and honest not alike some other brands.. and regarding the Lou camera bag people now have told me that it tends to have issues and that the design is flawed so I don’t think I will get another one of those.. however, I was tempted to get the mini Lou because as you mentioned the leather is different so I hoped it wear’s better. Thank you again for sharing! And hopefully no more troubles with YSL bags for both of us! 💓

Always happy to see a new upload from you! I am glad you exchanged it for a better one! Never feel bad love! Sadly Lou Camera Bags don't age well to be honest with you, I have one with distressed leather to avoid having to deal with any scratches and if I am ever to buy another it will be the croc embossed one. I have a GG Marmont Camera Bag and it aged beautifully and looks brand new compared to my YSL Lou Camera Bag. There is a flaw in the design that makes the top bulge after a while (due to it being very narrow in width, stuffed or not it will bulge eventually. But please do enjoy it nonetheless! It is a beautiful bag and navy blue is gorgeous! I am still in the hunt for navy bag but I want it with silver hardware.

It’s so sad that the YSL camera bag has this design flaw and actually no one talks about it.. literally a couple of times I’ve heard about bulging and everyone seems to love it. I personally will probably go for the Pradas 😁 and the navy version (I saw it later in Bicester Village!) and maybe check out the Gucci one! Have been looking at it a couple of times online.
Good luck with finding a perfect navy bag for you! Once an SA showed me a College bag in navy with gunmetal hardware (this spring) so maybe something you might be interested? But it’s not silver.. I remember something from LV also.. Alma and I think there was something else.. anyway, looking forward to hear when you find a perfect one!

Did you ended up getting the Alma?? I saw that since spring things were rather easily available on LV website :) Aldo I was looking at the navy Alma on VC which was listed for 800€ but without the strap and I passed on it
@@Natalia_Kowal I haven't check it yet, I keep thinking of going to LV boutique first instead of ordering online. LV reputation is horrible right now with their quality control I thought it's better to see it in person but I am still postponing that!
This is the first time I heard of YSL having quality issue. Maybe I need to avoid this bag in the future. Fyi, Gucci has great camera bag, check that out. Glad you were able to exchange it and avoid having further problems.
Yes it was shocking to me to see quality issue form YSL and it seems that it’s a common thing (the zip creating a triangle - mine was far more defective than just aesthetic aspect) happening to these bags even if they are fine when new, after some time it happens - I’m already realizing from comments under this video. I think it’s a shame for the brand and I’m most likely sticking to Prada camera bags! Also need to check out the Gucci ones, you and and other person just recommended it! And if you are ever considering this YSl camera bag, well I have to say think about because apparently these issues are well known..

I wonder if the YSL mini lou camera bag has the same problem? I was considering getting one somewhere down the line. It's a cute bag for a night out, I have too many casual bags.
@@mylifemyjourney1 hmmm it’s hard to say for sure as I don’t have any experience with the mini but I would say it probably doesn’t or much less. First because the leather is different and second because the bag is smaller and doesn’t have as much leather in this place for bulging- at least it won’t be so visible, I think
I am on day 3 of using my bag in this style, but the color rosy sand. It’s doing the same thing but zipper is not as stiff. I thought that all of them did this 😩
Apparently many of them do… from what I heard from others it a design issue 😩 I was hoping that they have done something about it because this bag has a back pocket now? So I was hoping they have fixed this while upgrading the bag.. really sad to hear that 😞 the rosy color is soooo pretty!! 😍
@@Natalia_Kowal mine has the back pocket and it is fabulous and has a good capacity. It’s a shame they didn’t fix that design issue too!
I bought my camera bag 2 years ago and that exact issue happens to my bag 😢 I love the bag but that really annoys me.

I’m afraid the bag was sold to another person.. they didn’t seem to check for the quality issues with it (at least while I was there) so I assume they have put it back to the drawer 😬 I hope the next person saw the issue and finally the bag wasn’t sold to anyone

My handle broke after using it twice sent it back. The bag is bad quality

Not all of them do but many does.. seems like it’s a design flaw from the feedback I got from people..
My opinion u shouldn't go for the camera bag as u have 2 college which is much more beautiful
You actually totally right.. and the college was not so much more at that time (it’s bigger gap now!). But I wanted a camera bag because of a bit more casual vibe? Because I like this style? I guess just curiosity and now I’ve learned my lesson
