About the YSL shoulder bag, the problem was probably the material. I have a similar bag (the YSL monogram large shoulder bag) in caviar and it's wonderful. It is light and I have been using it for one year and it still looks good as new. You should give it a try!

This is so relevant for me right now, I sold two bags yesterday that I had for less than a year, a Chanel WOC and a Saint Laurent tote. I still loved them but hardly used them, the WOC because it just didn't fit enough and the tote because it couldn't be closed properly. Getting them ready for shipping hurt a bit, I won't lie, but it's better to sell while the items still have all their value.
Agreed! Every bag I sell, I hope I learn something (at least I tell myself this to ease the pain haha!). My Chanel WOC lasted only a few months with me too. I still love the look of the bag, I just could not get on with it!
Recently I went to Atlanta GA and Nashville TN on a trip and I was able to see some YSL bags in person. I was wanting so much to like them but I just felt very underwhelmed. I feel as though their handbags are lacking in quality. However, I think Gucci is absolutely rocking it here lately! So many of the pieces I saw, I fell in love with.
Just shows how we're all different...I have a Saint Laurent College bag and Adore it and so light and the amount of comments I've had when wearing it! (Which I have never had with my Chanel bags!) I don't like the Kate bag because of the tassels I've seen too many people say the tassels dig into the leather so has always put me off although agree it looks lovely. I do prefer more casual bags, and so so agree it's important to love a bag before keeping I made many mistake years ago just keeping bags and regretting it, and it's such an expensive mistake!
I love the YSL bag. So pretty. My shoulders are so bony it would probably leave marks, it's disappointing that it's so heavy and small inside. Thank you for doing this video it's helpful.
For YSL i really really recommend the Nano sac du jour; its a tiny bag but fits SO much! the fact that its open on top doesnt matter bc you can wear it on your wrist so easily!
it was very helpful! I just returned my pink mansur gabriel bucket bag back to net a Porte. Not only it came crooked but also leather was super stiff and looked and felt cheap. love your videos!!

I see I'm not the only one on a Saint Laurent roll at the moment! I just love their history so much, and when it comes to flashly logos the old YSL is a lifelong favourite. I picked up their chevron wristlet/pouch this week, and the Sac de Jour in the baby size is currently on top of my wishlist. I've always liked the Kate, but I'm not so sure now hearing you say how little it fits. The envelope chain wallet in chevron is beautiful as well, but I'm guessing that will hold even less.
The envelope chain wallet is on my wishlist too (if we're thinking of the same one - I find their naming conventions so confusing!). I really don't need more small bags but I love the Saint Laurent ones! They are so dainty and beautiful!

Love this style of video! When you said you were looking for your perfect Saint Laurent bag I immediately thought of the Kate but if that style of bag hasn't worked out for you in the past this one probably wouldn't now either. It's so beautiful though, I love the tassel croc embossed!
The structure of the Saint Laurent sunset bag appears to be a lot like the medium Gucci Dionysus. I can't fit very much in my Dionysus, and it is EXTREMELY heavy. I deal with the imperfections because I'm so smitten with the look of the bag, but functionally, it's not my favorite.
Oh that's so good to know! I go back and forth on the Dionysus so that is super helpful! The weight of the sunset combined with lack of space was just a total deal break for me :(

I have the saint laurent cabas bag, and i've worn it constantly for almost 2 years and it's TOTALLY kept its shape and still looks structured and beautiful, so if you're still looking for a saint laurent, i think it's worth checking out. i love love love mine, and it's not super saturated so it's nice to have something not everyone has!

I love the Balenciaga city! It's such a classic. I had one in pink and though I sold it, I often revisit the bag when it comes out in different colours. It's not too heavy if I recall and the strap is super handy so if you don't need to carry loads, it could be a great choice!
that's really surprising that you did not like the YSL shoulder. I have the same bag in the matelasse leather and I found that it kept its shape beautifully after regular use. Wonder if it was just the suede material.

Hi Amie, Love this video! Great format and content. I've the Mansur Gavriel Lady Bag mini in black. Agree with your point on the access of the bag, it can be slightly troublesome but it is something that I can live with as I absolutely love.. love the style of the bag. However, my issue with the bag is that the leather just scratches ridiculously! I understand that the "untreated" leather is intended to show wear after use but..it is really making the bag look really worn. Not actually a good look for this style for me.

I have both the lady bag and the backpack from Mansour Gavriel. I had the same reservations as well but you would be surprised -the drawstring is not as cumbersome as you would think and you can get to most items by just lifting the flap up and down. The large backpack that I have is my everyday work bag and it wears so well! I didn't realize that the large lady bag didn't fit a laptop... I have the mini one and it's a great size for you if you are looking for more of a weekend bag that would fit your essentials.

omg! Amie, i have the Sunset bag but in size small, its my 2nd luxury bag after the Chanel double flap. Sunset bag is not practical but is soooooo beautiful! I am comletely in love how it looks. Here in USA they dont sell medium size you have featured in your video

The Mansur Gavriel lady bag didn't work for me either. I sold it eventually. It looked great, but too prone to scratches and water stains. This video is fun to watch and makes me want to do the same "bags I returned" video on my channel! Amie, you are so inspirational! Love you xoxo.
My lady bag has vegetable leather which is very prone to scratches and water stains. The pink one like you showed in the picture is made of calf leather. Calf leather is more scratch and stain resistant. But the corners of all Mansur Gavriel bags wear terribly, no matter what leather they have.
Get the Mansur lady bag! I have both the MG small bucket and the (old) medium lady bag in black with pink interior. Love both so much. You can tie the draw string in a slip knot so that it slides up and down quite easily to get in and out ( like people do for the LV Noe). The leather softens and becomes even better with age. GREAT bags. Became very popular here in the U.S after Gigi Hadid was spotted carrying one.
I have the same medium sunset but in black croc with silver. It is a heavy bag, but i think its bc the leather and of course the chain. The look is beautiful though and the chain is super shiny. I kept mine but the biggest downfall for me was how heavy it was. I still absolutely love it though and get loads of compliments.
Ahhh!! I could never ever let that bag go, it's so pretty! Such a shame it has all those compartments, they should have just left it open. The Gucci soho disco is my go-to bag too. I use it for literally everything, it's the most functional bag I own!

I enjoyed this video so much. I love love the YSL monogram and was disappointed your bags didn't work. As an impulse purchase I bought the medium YSL camera bag in black with gold hardware just before they were discontinued. It was the best impulse purchase I ever made. The bag is beautiful and structured. I can fit a lot into it as well. I was thinking about the shopper tote but decided against it based on your review. I think you just need the right YSL. Maybe YSL shoes?
Amie, please consider trying the Chanel Gabrielle bag in medium... I think it would suit you very well! Will you also consider Chanel flap bags in tweed? Such a classic... would be a great addition to your lovely Chanel collection.

I don't know what it is about Gucci bags, but I think they're so basic and cheap looking. The logo is ugly, and it just makes the bags look like something you can get at Walmart. Ick.

Just discovered your channel and I had to comment on this video! I also bought the Saint Laurent Sunset bag and thought exactly the same. It was slightly smaller (interiors-wise) and heavier than I wanted, plus the colour online was different to the bag I received so that was very disappointing! It wasn't practical for every day use unless you carry basically nothing. I returned it and got the LV Pochette Metis in black leather instead which holds so, so much and looks amazing! Lovely video, going to sub to you now :) xx
I commented before you got to the Marmont camera bag and I also returned that one! I got the smaller size and it was absolutely teeny, I was hoping it would be the same as my Soho Disco but it wasn't and I just didn't think it was worth the money at all. I feel like your bag twin right now haha
Bags are like dresses, when you look at them you thought it looks good on you. But once you wear it, you feel and look at it as if something is off or amiss that you’re not confident to show off.

I noticed your bag didn't have any of the protective plastic stickers or paper anymore. Do you always completely unwrap it all? I'm always super careful with all packaging because I want to be able to return it as it arrived. I only take everything off once I decide to keep it. Has this ever caused any problems for you?

I enjoyed this video so much. I love love the YSL monogram and was disappointed your bags didn't work. As an impulse purchase I bought the medium YSL camera bag in black with gold hardware just before they were discontinued. It was the best impulse purchase I ever made. The bag is beautiful and structured. I can fit a lot into it as well. I was thinking about the shopper tote but decided against it based on your review. I think you just need the right YSL. Maybe YSL shoes?
The Saint Laurent sunset bag looks very similar to fendi Kan I bag! I think it will be a good fit for you!

I had a similar bag to the sunset, looked great but couldn't fit anything in it was so rigid.... love the Kate bag, but my Eva clutch is as small as I can go!!! I'm guilty of too much stuff. You manage as always to turn a negative into a positive, have a great weekend xx xx

I ended up swapping out my marmont small camera bag today for the mini after a week of trying to make the small work. Especially since I'm short it looked so awkward!

I don't know what it is about Gucci bags, but I think they're so basic and cheap looking. The logo is ugly, and it just makes the bags look like something you can get at Walmart. Ick.

Just discovered your channel and I had to comment on this video! I also bought the Saint Laurent Sunset bag and thought exactly the same. It was slightly smaller (interiors-wise) and heavier than I wanted, plus the colour online was different to the bag I received so that was very disappointing! It wasn't practical for every day use unless you carry basically nothing. I returned it and got the LV Pochette Metis in black leather instead which holds so, so much and looks amazing!

I commented before you got to the Marmont camera bag and I also returned that one! I got the smaller size and it was absolutely teeny, I was hoping it would be the same as my Soho Disco but it wasn't and I just didn't think it was worth the money at all. I feel like your bag twin right now haha

Bags are like dresses, when you look at them you thought it looks good on you. But once you wear it, you feel and look at it as if something is off or amiss that you’re not confident to show off.
I love these videos, Amie. The first bag was stunning, but if it's heavy, then you will never reach for it. My Chanel GST just sits there.

I love my Antigona! I'm afraid I have no idea whether it would be better to buy in Paris or London; perhaps check the different currency prices on Net-a-Porter and decide from there? It's a great bag though, no regrets from me :)
