Why does VA make getting 100% so hard?

- VA math does not make sense. The closer you get to 100% the harder it is to get a 100% rating.

How they can just give billions of dollars to ukrain, isarel, iran etc. but give Veterans shit on things like this.
Different entities... the argument is with the VA...
95% of the politicians get bankrolled by corporations.
The "foreign aid" you're talking about is really just Congress buying multibillion-dollar gift cards from American Defense Corporations and shipping the weapons deliveries overseas. The money goes straight to the politicians' rich donors.
True. Our government is not fair to veterans.
Our current regime has to have enough money to feed all the illegals that they are importing last count. It was between 12 and 14 million new mouths to feed, shelter, clothe, provide cell phones, and give debit cards (NYC) etc . SMFH yeah, veterans go last.
I can't even describe how much I despise the whole claim process.
It disgusts me how bad us Veterans have to fight for what we earned. We served, got injured while serving, got honorably discharged medical retirement, and can’t work a regular sustainable gainful employment and can’t live on what they give us at discharge so then have to hire attorneys to get our benefits and after years of fighting we get a little. Then we’ve got to continue fighting to get more.
I was medically retired in 06 after serving just under four years, finally got my TDIU P&T from 80% from an appeal to the federal law judge in DC who granted me that, thank God.
If someone served and was medically retired from AD and files for VA compensation and medical care, they should get it!! We shouldn’t have to hire attorneys for 30% of any awarded backpay and fight for years to decades to get what we earned. It’s ridiculous! Then we apply for SSDI and get denied and then have to go through the entire ordeal again, but with a different federal agency. I don’t want to go through this mess again and be poked and prodded to see if my foot thick medical records from the VA are legit and I’m not “faking” it. Not sure that’s even possible for that long seeing this many doctors and taking all those medications and having surgeries etc etc. it’s just ridiculous and another bureaucracy of our government smh.
I pray that one day my future fellow Veterans won’t have to go through everything we had to go through just so we could get what we earned. We don’t want to be hurt and not able to work and have to live off of the government! God bless all those that help us get everything we’re owed and earned! God bless all my fellow Veterans that signed to serve and defend everyone’s freedoms!!
True but you forget most people in the military have cushion jobs.
@@JIMDOG4442002 not sure what your definition of “cushion job” but it ain’t anywhere near “cusion” when training and deployed. Never heard anyone that served claim that before.

VA & logic cannot and should not be used in the same sentence
VA = gober Pyle thinking
Too bad the IRS can't do this with my taxes
This is the best explanation of “VA Math” I have ever heard. It makes sense now. Thank you
Think of it like a retail transaction:
-You go to a store to buy a gift.
-You find the perfect item for them and you know they’ll love it.
-The full price of this item is $100 (i.e. 100% able-bodied).
-The store has it on sale for 50% off (now you are 50% able-bodied, because it’s 50% of the 100).
-You have a coupon for 50% off that you can also use.
Does that mean the item is free because it’s 50% off and another 50% off? Nope. It is $25 because your price worries reflect 50% off the full price, then 50% off the sales price.
The key word is logic, VA doesn't use logic.
VA uses common core math.
It’s coupon stacking math. Two 50% off coupons doesn’t mean free.
VA gave me 50% disability for a bilateral mastectomy and 70% disability for PTDS-MSRT (Mitary Sexual Rape and Trauma). Their math came to 90% disability. Because I complained, I was not allowed to reenlist even though I severed in Desert Storm. So, in essence, I was professionally assaulted and monetarily molested when my rating was calculated at only 90%. This is not VA math this VA disrespect.
Bad new for you, if go got a severance sooner or later they will take will recoup the money from your pay. If you get a 100 I guarantee you that they will audit you and get that money.
@@JesusDefeatedMe You know, I believe that you are speaking truth to power 🔋 thank you 😊 for your insight.
I got 100% P&T…. It took 10 years… I make 4050$ a month….. I’m kinda crazy though
They don't know what the Vets remaining ability is ? They just fing guessing.
sorry you're wrong you take the highest percent first, in this case 50%, then you add 40% of what's left (50), so the final rating is 70%
That's so true this y vets r getting screwed
I'm TDIU P&T. That said, my rating is 80% according to the VA. Rest of the world counts it at 120%. Good times.
any pointers on getting tdiu?
@johndoe-ek6vl meet the requirements first is the obvious. Try for social security. If you can get that, add that as additional evidence and hope for an evaluator who will take note of everything. Took me 7 years and 4 evaluations. Hope for the best and good luck.
😂 how could someone be more than 100% disabled?
Best explanation I’ve heard.
The young lady is quoting VA math.Typically, more than one way or method to arrive at the same answer!😜💯
It’s like algebra . You get two dollars and by the time it is inversely and proportionately squared by the root you only have 70% left with Omar getting the rest 😢
It really screws the vets that have multiple small ratings...
Legalese VA math = beurcratic magic, completely insane.
I guerentee if those doing the ratings had served or their child served the way they grade would be different.
I got approved for mine in December 2023 at 90% Found out 2 days ago lol I've bitched about this claim for a decade.
Now file a new claim to get to that 100% 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@@thebluebooklife Working on it. They keep denying real claims with real records anyway, as they have done for at least a decade 🤷🏾♂️ I'll keep fighting of course.
Yup i have a 70% , a 60% and a 10% but im only 90% rating 🤦♂️
Sorry to tell you but you are wrong with your math. Based on your 40% and 50% , with the VA math it is a 70% rating. And you should always start with your higher percentage first.

Rachel Cheeks, yes she is.
Thank you so much Rachel you’re a bright star in the darkness
They make it almost impossible and honestly very few vets would go after it if 70-90 had better benefits like dental and vision and tax relief in state and 2300-3600 wasn’t such a gap

Its Because of how the Politicians whomed never served in the Military wrote the VA Rules Period 🙄 😒.
Is there ever a time when it’s different by the rating they start with? So instead of starting with the 40 let’s start with the 50. Starting with the 50 then there’s only 50 left. So 40% of 50 is 20. Added to 50 is 70. Same. Is there ever time that doesn’t work out?
I suffer with cluster headaches and PTSD coppertone in my left arm I have no strength and with flat feet
Do you want my paycheck? Lol,

Logically my ratings totaled 220...
This is VA math 5+5=3😂
Thank you. That explains it...sort of.
I tried to get you guys but i guess i have to be unemployed in order to get yalls svcs
Why do you have VA considering the 40% rating first? VA has alwased considered my largest rating first, and then considering the remaining disabilities in largest order.
I thought whatever your highest rating is will be your base and all other ratings are percentages of the remainder?
For example if your first rating is 40%, even if it’s years later you receive a 70% for something else, that new 70% would become your new base because it’s the highest rating you currently have. This results in the 40% becoming a percentage of 30% which is the remainder of 100-70.
Am I correct or misinformed?
How many plants can a veteran make at one time when you go to veteran affair they won't let you make with one. What's up with that
All my nexusus....pues come for texas
The lady is wrong. if you have a 50 and a 40, the higher number comes out 1st. In this example, it still comes out to 70%.
It doesn’t matter which number you use first or which order. Your answer will be the same, either way.
The "Lady" is an attorney and you are a person commenting on someone else's CZcams video. Esq wins every time!
@goforce32 she may be a lawyer but she is wrong with the rating order. The VA starts with the higher rating and works down. Just because you are unaware of how the VA does things doesn't mean that others are

Fewer veterans would even fight the VA if America had national single payer healthcare. And the fewer veterans they allow access to money and medical assistance the better THAT math works.
Lobbyist private practice/ value added
Yet another reason why I tell young guys at my church why you should NEVER join the military!
Every man should serve at least 4 years out of their young lives to server their country! I did it straight out of HS and it absolutely changed my life for the better. 82nd Airborne 💪🏽
Thanks again.
Lol veterans do not have limited capability because of VA's rating. That is the rating cap the VA made up.
I got 100% with SMC on my first Claim. I'm really screwed up though.
MAKES SENSE! LMAO
So... if one has 80% and then you get another 50% out of the remaining 20, you only get 10% of that, so only 90%? So what would you need to get 100%? An additional 50% plus another 50%?
Doesn’t the va take the 50% first and they would use the remaining 40% on the remaining 50% to equal 70%? I know it comes out the same but if you have a larger rating like a 70% ptsd it would matter?
This is how VA disability is calculated. If a vet has several items to consider, they start with the one with the greatest disability first. Let's say you have mental health 50%, migraines 40%, back injury 40%, arm injury 30%, hearing injury 30%, etc. Your rating starts with the highest rated disability which would be the 50% (mental health). 50% left. Then 40%(back) of the remaining 50%, which would be 20% added to the 50% which is 70%. There would be 30% left. Then apply 40% migraine to the remaining 30% would leave 18%. Then apply 30% hearing to the remaining 18% and 12.6% would be left. Then apply 30% arm injury to the remaining 12.6%. That leaves 8.8%. The 91.2% would be rounded down to a 90% final rating. Bottom line, is good documentation on medical records and ongoing problems. Bear in mind, ongoing problems can get worse over time. If the disability started in service, the worsened condition can qualify the vet for an adjustment in disability rating. See the doctor, make sure the documentation is there. Documentation is the best evidence to speak for you.
Yes
Tidu only non service connected almost died in the service.
Than why do they classify you 70% disabled, instead of 30% able?
How do I get in touch with your firm to increase from 30% upward ? I am having more connected related issues
you would only use a law firm to appeal , not for simple increases. go see your Dr. for getting those symptoms recorded, then file.
She is so pretty
Thats sucks
All I wa t to know is why they don't add dental to regular health services. If they can have my eyes they can handle my teeth.
You're so beautiful and intelligent. I don't want my daughter learn VA math. That's why VA personnel are abnormal.
Thank you, with your pretty self😊
Your math is wrong, they take the largest amount first, so they would take 50% first, then 40% of the remaining 50%. That means they are 70% disabled in your example.
This is wrong. We need more Asians at the VA
The VA always begins from highest to lowest. Thank you. SHOW ME YOUR DALEEL is correct.
except for Bi-lats, they must be computed prior to regular ratings.
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
You do it from the higher claim so you do the math off the migraine claim because it’s 50 percent while the back is 40% if you’re going to explain things please explain them correctly
I've been stuck at 90% forever
You and I both brother, I'm 84% and just filed this week for Tinnitus. If that goes through I' 85 or rounded up to 90. So I need another 100 LOL I need hip replacements however that's not even halfway. Okay VA you win. The only thing that really helps is no Property tax in IL at 70%
It’s not hard if you’re disabled. Why don’t you want to accept and help veterans with complicated cases? You put incomplete information on your website regarding Family Caregiver Program. I KNOW MORE ABOUT VA disability regulations than you do

Try experiencing for yourself. Combat veterans should be taken care of first. Try serving with special operations. If they are taking care of civilian problems those people should be in the civilian sector. Instead sometimes it is the other way around. As for me I was told that there was no evidence of service. Then I spoke with the VA and was told that just by looking at part of my file it shows that I am a veteran. Schizoaffive disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I'm getting a headache just thinking about this. How do I prove that I get headaches?
@@sidoliveira3246 yea ok. I see too many veterans getting benefits and all they did was push a pencil and sit on their azzes all day long. I do agree the vets who served on the front line and got shot at deserve their benefits but too many of these desk jockey veterans complaining about fake injuries just blow me away.
@@viperviper5 I agree with you viper. The VA is all messed up. The social security system is all messed up too. I'm 51 years old. I have learned alot throughout my lifetime. When I experienced a nervous breakdown I ended up in a state hospital. I was told that I had to take medication for the rest of my life. I was also told that I had to see doctors for the rest of my life. I was only 21 years old. That's young and it took me a long time to accept. I was told at one time that there are many different ways of serving your country. That is true. I do get angry to see abusing the system especially when I hear people talk about it. They are hard working tax payers. I'll keep trying.
What desk jockeys you know getting a high rating?? I was in for 5 years in the corps and I was 3531 and did 2 tours to Iraq and I'm at 70 percent and I don't know any admin or desk people that didn't occur any injuries that got good disability ratings.
@@michaelpetersen6579 that is a good point. To the best of my knowledge, people who collect non service compensation benefits have issues that are not service connected. The amount of money that they receive is a lot lower than 100 percent service connected benefits. I do believe, in my opinion that the VA should focus more on helping people with service related problems. That is my honest and sincere view.
You’re so bright and beautiful👌🏻. Thanks for everything that you do for the military community🫡
