Why does VA make getting 100% so hard?

  • VA math does not make sense. The closer you get to 100% the harder it is to get a 100% rating.

95% of the politicians get bankrolled by corporations.
The "foreign aid" you're talking about is really just Congress buying multibillion-dollar gift cards from American Defense Corporations and shipping the weapons deliveries overseas. The money goes straight to the politicians' rich donors.

It disgusts me how bad us Veterans have to fight for what we earned. We served, got injured while serving, got honorably discharged medical retirement, and can’t work a regular sustainable gainful employment and can’t live on what they give us at discharge so then have to hire attorneys to get our benefits and after years of fighting we get a little. Then we’ve got to continue fighting to get more.
I was medically retired in 06 after serving just under four years, finally got my TDIU P&T from 80% from an appeal to the federal law judge in DC who granted me that, thank God.
If someone served and was medically retired from AD and files for VA compensation and medical care, they should get it!! We shouldn’t have to hire attorneys for 30% of any awarded backpay and fight for years to decades to get what we earned. It’s ridiculous! Then we apply for SSDI and get denied and then have to go through the entire ordeal again, but with a different federal agency. I don’t want to go through this mess again and be poked and prodded to see if my foot thick medical records from the VA are legit and I’m not “faking” it. Not sure that’s even possible for that long seeing this many doctors and taking all those medications and having surgeries etc etc. it’s just ridiculous and another bureaucracy of our government smh.
I pray that one day my future fellow Veterans won’t have to go through everything we had to go through just so we could get what we earned. We don’t want to be hurt and not able to work and have to live off of the government! God bless all those that help us get everything we’re owed and earned! God bless all my fellow Veterans that signed to serve and defend everyone’s freedoms!!

Think of it like a retail transaction:
-You go to a store to buy a gift.
-You find the perfect item for them and you know they’ll love it.
-The full price of this item is $100 (i.e. 100% able-bodied).
-The store has it on sale for 50% off (now you are 50% able-bodied, because it’s 50% of the 100).
-You have a coupon for 50% off that you can also use.
Does that mean the item is free because it’s 50% off and another 50% off? Nope. It is $25 because your price worries reflect 50% off the full price, then 50% off the sales price.

For example if your first rating is 40%, even if it’s years later you receive a 70% for something else, that new 70% would become your new base because it’s the highest rating you currently have. This results in the 40% becoming a percentage of 30% which is the remainder of 100-70.

  • @cjablan6246
    @cjablan6246 Před rokem +3

This is how VA disability is calculated. If a vet has several items to consider, they start with the one with the greatest disability first. Let's say you have mental health 50%, migraines 40%, back injury 40%, arm injury 30%, hearing injury 30%, etc. Your rating starts with the highest rated disability which would be the 50% (mental health). 50% left. Then 40%(back) of the remaining 50%, which would be 20% added to the 50% which is 70%. There would be 30% left. Then apply 40% migraine to the remaining 30% would leave 18%. Then apply 30% hearing to the remaining 18% and 12.6% would be left. Then apply 30% arm injury to the remaining 12.6%. That leaves 8.8%. The 91.2% would be rounded down to a 90% final rating. Bottom line, is good documentation on medical records and ongoing problems. Bear in mind, ongoing problems can get worse over time. If the disability started in service, the worsened condition can qualify the vet for an adjustment in disability rating. See the doctor, make sure the documentation is there. Documentation is the best evidence to speak for you.

Try experiencing for yourself. Combat veterans should be taken care of first. Try serving with special operations. If they are taking care of civilian problems those people should be in the civilian sector. Instead sometimes it is the other way around. As for me I was told that there was no evidence of service. Then I spoke with the VA and was told that just by looking at part of my file it shows that I am a veteran. Schizoaffive disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I'm getting a headache just thinking about this. How do I prove that I get headaches?

@@sidoliveira3246 yea ok. I see too many veterans getting benefits and all they did was push a pencil and sit on their azzes all day long. I do agree the vets who served on the front line and got shot at deserve their benefits but too many of these desk jockey veterans complaining about fake injuries just blow me away.

@@viperviper5 I agree with you viper. The VA is all messed up. The social security system is all messed up too. I'm 51 years old. I have learned alot throughout my lifetime. When I experienced a nervous breakdown I ended up in a state hospital. I was told that I had to take medication for the rest of my life. I was also told that I had to see doctors for the rest of my life. I was only 21 years old. That's young and it took me a long time to accept. I was told at one time that there are many different ways of serving your country. That is true. I do get angry to see abusing the system especially when I hear people talk about it. They are hard working tax payers. I'll keep trying.

What desk jockeys you know getting a high rating?? I was in for 5 years in the corps and I was 3531 and did 2 tours to Iraq and I'm at 70 percent and I don't know any admin or desk people that didn't occur any injuries that got good disability ratings.

@@michaelpetersen6579 that is a good point. To the best of my knowledge, people who collect non service compensation benefits have issues that are not service connected. The amount of money that they receive is a lot lower than 100 percent service connected benefits. I do believe, in my opinion that the VA should focus more on helping people with service related problems. That is my honest and sincere view.
