Walking the World | Little Amal Finds a Home at the UN

- Little Amal is a giant puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl traveling the world in search of a home. How will we welcome her?
On 16 Sep 2022, the puppet visited the United Nations ahead of the Transforming Education Summit and met with Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.
Amal represents the millions of displaced children everywhere and reminds us that education is a basic human right.
Since July 2021 the puppet has travelled over 5,000 miles across 12 countries. From 14 September to 2 October the puppet is touring all five boroughs of New York City.
Little Amal Walks NYC was produced by the Walk Productions and St Anns Warehouse in association with Handspring Puppet Company. Videography by Respective Collective and LOFT Films.
I don't know why but watching this made me cry and it's over 2 months old and I'm still crying 😢 this is amazing

Thank you. So many don't welcome because they have no proximity to our brothers and sisters from other lands and they don't understand. Little Amal brings proximity to the people and she gives refugees a voice without speaking any words. ❤️
Little Amal's going to be up in North Adams MA this coming week where I went to college. I plan on going to see her with my Mom. She's such a beautiful work of art who sends a very powerful message.

I was thinking the same thing.. Then I thought about the person inside giving the puppet movement, needs to be able to breath. Not to mention; being able to see that no one is in the way while the puppet is walking.
There would be ways to do it. They could use see threw material

It makes me cry so sad but happyness also the creators of her. There angels real angels to make something everyone loves cares for and wants to help and love all raceses love her she's bringing us together thank you my best christmas

I had the privilege of walking with Amal a week ago. It has made such an impact on my life. I see the women in the video crying and that is the exact same reaction I had. She is an amazing light in so much darkness.

Could you come over to Windsor, Ontario, Canada and I have been displaced by someone two years ago and now in a living room since and facing eviction even though my rent paid on time! Right to the landlord and I am not the only person they or other property owners have done,! I would like to do a press conference and release of important information about potential running in 2026 again.
