RJ Corman Replacing Traction Motors on NS 6177 at McDonough, GA

On February 10th 2022, I watched a crew from RJ Corman railroad Services replace 5 traction motors with idler axles. Here is one of them being replaced. The crew worked hard, having to cut several of the bolds holding the traction motors out with a torch, and even having to make some special tooling to get the job done. I love watching this process, and I am thankful that the guys from RJC don't seem to mind me watching.

Sorry for such a late response on this, but I talked with the guy in charge of this crew on this day. He said his father works for Corman and runs a crew up in Ohio I believe. He said one of these two machines was one that his father used when this guy was a kid. With proper maintenance and care those side booms will go forever, plus they can be rebuilt if needed.
