hey everyone! there’s something i want to address in this video that makes me cringe. when i’m pointing to posters on the wall i talk abt feeling disconnected from “my activism.” the fact that i used a possessive pronoun there is icky. i was very socially active in high school but it kind of gave out once i got to college. those posters were a reminder to myself to be politically active and not forget the world around me-they are clearly not doing anything constructive for anyone besides myself trying not to be complicit in my own ignorance. okay that’s all!

HI! I'm a mentor (and hey I also live in WA state!) for an incoming freshman at Wesleyan, and I am trying to get a feel for what you get in a dorm room when you first arrive. Is there a list of what they recommend you bring? What size is the room? I see that you can store stuff under your bed-- is the bed built that you could elevate it further if you wanted to, for even more storage space underneath? Do you know about how much money you spent outfitting your room?
I’m a high school senior and my mom went to Williams and i guess Wesleyan, Williams and Amherst are all rivals so my mom wasn’t to pleased when I said I was doing ED to Wesleyan 🙈
I have one up about my first month here, but i might do another video at some point in the future! It's likely that little tidbits will get sprinkled in throughout my friday vids :^)
I would say that there are a surprising number of people with singles, but i don't really know the process. I know people who requested them and didn't get them, and a bunch who did so i would say it's more likely than not to get one if you request a single
Hi Sharon! The rainbow flag is a symbol of pride for the lgbtq+ community that I am a part of. Unfortunately, there aren’t many gay friendly places in the world but I’ve found many people at Wesleyan to be open and accepting. Wesleyan is actually a secular college, so I recommend you do a little more research before you decide if it’s the place for you!

yes. for me I think it made a big difference in my experience because I had a space that really felt like my own
