Sorin the Hardware guy has to be number one on the internet for this kind of information. I think You're right about the driver from the HP site not working if you have installed a fresh copy of windows it didn't work for me when I tried to fix the problem that way..

Device Manager - Nework Adapter - Right Click Properties - Advanced - Antenna Diversity "Aux" (worked for me) or "Main". Great video though. Led me right to the problem area. Thanks so much.

I have two cables what do I do
I see 8 down votes , and cannot understand why. This was short and to the point and something I had never seen. Some of the other vids do jump around and can leave you guessing, but this one was short and sweet.
It was not a driver or software issue. There are 2 antennas on a wifi card 2.4gHz and 5gHz. 5gHz antenna gives less range. HP only gives one band i.e. 2.4gHz and not 5gHz. So, swapping the antenna is the right thing if you want a good signal range. It comes from a factory attached to 2.4gHz, so maybe the customer had some work done on the device previously, from where this problem originated.

So I took a couple of things out of my asus Rog mother board but to my surprise IT DIDN'T WORK
now i learned a lot at least I know the names of what I took out

Most drivers actually let you choose the antena. Did you checked the card advanced setting?

I ACCIDENTALLY DISCONNECTED ANTENNA CABLES
The 802.11ac connectors are so tiny and fragile now. I much preferred the larger 802.11 b/g/n connectors. Is there any way to fix it?
I have attempted this exact fix before and it only worked temporarily. I ended up changing the wifi card to permanently fix the no signal issue.

cool, is easy to fix, actual to correct you , windows 10 pro will find all the drivers off the internet and install them it self once you press update windows , it located the correct drives , you can always add extra USB N wifi in usb port if you want to double it .....wifi is easy fix

I had the same problem with this model where the driver is changing the antenna and an HP G4 250 with a broken module. These days HP is dodgy. I had my old Lenovo B560 ( one time ) and G570 flooded two times ( instalatiile din Romania sunt mai ruginite ca in Africa) and I only repaired the water damaged display and dry the motherboard after disassembling it . Switched to Lenovo and never looked back.
Next driver update on Win 10 will bring the problem back......best to use the HP support tool to get proper bios and drivers.

Hello! There is no need to disassemble your laptop to solve this problem. If you download the driver from the HP website, the wifi will work properly. The windows automatic driver update installs the wrong driver

2 connect is for wifi only...1 connect is for wifi+BT...so that might be black out the BT...due to unplug num 1 connect.
