the reason why so many new WoT tanks blur the line between heavy and medium is the fact that they are Main battle tanks or based on one. Which is essentially a hybrid between a medium tank, heavy tank and partially a tank destroyer in one neat package. So wargaming has to give them either heavy or a medium designation, but they are not either of them. One exception was the Strv-103 which is a main battle tank, but world of tanks considers it a tank destroyer

@@bdub1682 Oh it absolutely is, its an earlier prototype from that tank line. We will most likely see an american variant down the line due to the state and germany working on the project together.

I'd say the tank is stat-wise even more similar to the Leo 1 than any other heavy to be honest. It is basically a variation of the Leo 1 with good hull-down performance and some workable armor in turn for sacrificing some mobility and a bit of most other stats.

It is a sniper heavy with bad armor, but your team will go mad if sees a heavy tank sniping from the back. Unless you are fighting tier 8 and 9 it is a very high skill tank to play. I'd better play Leopard 1, at least team will leave you alone.
BAD ARMOUR??? WHAT? Hulldown beast, cupa almost as small as chief and has a wery strong turret front when hulldown. Defeniately a hulldown/pushing tank not a sniping heavy. Still has worse gun than sconq and ppl dont snipe with the conq... right? Hopefully not.
@@KOLLFER Did you watch this video? T57 pens him into the mantlet. What hulldown? For lower tier pen - it is like you are finding those 8 degree depression hulldown positions on every corner ... There is 90% gold spam in tier 10, you will be lucky to bounce shots. A very high skill tank dumped on unsuspected players with money who are not ready for tier X
i have the tank, its riddled with weakspots, the cupola is prominent and the cheeks of the turret are very pennable. Honestly its very frustrating how much you get penned through the turret but the dpm is really nice. @@KOLLFER
I’d say it’s closer stats to a t110e5 it’s just a bigger target for more speed.
Its like leopard 1 that traded camo and a bit of gunhandling for some armor. I like when wg add tanks like this. Good players will get great results with tanks like this. Bad players wont.
I think good players would get more from Leo and bad players will have a better time with this
In essence the actual Kpz-70 project was a replacement for the Leopard 1 tank, it was a collaborative effort between the US and Germany although it failed the experience gathered during the projects development was used to develop the Abrams and Leopard 2 respectively. You could think this is a sort of wargaming altered Kpz-70 to be closer to the Leo 1 in game
I agree jari - An Up-Armored Leo seems the best description to me. I wish i had the resources to get it.

this looks actually balanced tank even though the spotting is insane but armor balances it a bit so rare W WG
QB probably didn't watch Skill's video about the Ground Resistance field modification.
It has a slight effect on your acceleration, but then you're stuck at the same top speed as tanks without it.
On the other hand, lowering your tracks health could have a huge effect on your getting tracked frequency.

Like everyone else is saying: this is a heavy leopard 1. Literally it looks like a lep 1 that put on a few extra pounds. I’ll be picking this up; I hope it’s worth it 🤞🏻

It's a sniping heavy medium tank mis-labeled as a heavy tank. It's a heavy leopard.

Agreed! Seems unreliable, and these reviews all have a perfect scenario, in wich a LOT of tanks would've performed better.

This is basically a prototype mbt70 .. which was a prototype in itself .. if I’m correct lol
I kinda want it .. I cannot lie.. other German heavies are the antiquated e100 and Maus, this is a much more modern design
to my knowledge this particular variant is a made up tank inspired by the german variant of the MBT-70 that was planned to use 120mm rheinmetall smoothbore gun
I really wish they would add that tank or well the 2 versions of it. American with bigger gun less HP. German with small gun more HP.

Worth noting if you're using your gun depression in this tank, the cheek weak points are not longer weak points.
It's weird, cause QB got penetrated 3 times in role by T57heavy HEAT while hulldown from high position.
@@peacepham7838 Bad luck, there's only a small area where it could have penned. I think sometimes he's too quick to assume things based on one bad game.

How do you know where the armor is on each tank? I used to play on console and they had a view mode to show the armor, but I don't see that on the PC version. Can you only see it on the website? Also, It's my 21st b-day today!!!

Maus and E-100 look 30 years older than pretty much all their peer t10 tanks, and they were also power-crept to all hell, being quite underwhelming nowadays.
They are certainly iconic and should not be removed from the game, but I think they would work better as a t10 collector vehicles
QB please may you explain why you put vents on virtually every single tank? For a heavy tank like this the vents only really provide a slight dpm increase as the camo is irrelevant on a heavy and so base view range is already so high. Surely rammer turbo and hardening or vstabs would be alot more useful than vents?
Crew skills are increased as well
This tank doesnt benefi much from turbo or vstab, might aswell use vents
Kind of hoped for a new german tech tree, because the new tanks are like always only reward or smth, hopefully some day there will come a new tree
already 3 heavy lines on the german tech tree(all being ww2 german tanks) making it quite hard to add one i reckon

Agreed. The E100 and Maus are interesting in their own ways, but the Pz 7 is just garbage. Put it in the collectibles shop and put a new heavy line in to replace Pz 7
Strange stats,Leo1 does 420dmg with it's 105mm gun and it's HE shell has 105mm of penetration,while kamfpanzer has 110mm with it's 120mm gun.

i have the tank and is between a Leopard 1 and E75.
armor from front can troll the enemy even if they know the weak spots , have ok speed and accuracy is a bit weird . Im glad is not broken OP but in good hands is OP .
This tank clearly is not for push more like to stay on hills and snipe . Is very hard to kill this type of tank from hills
This tank looks like if someone has slaped the turret of the KPz70 on the chassis of Leopard 1 and has giving him with 120mm with weird muzzle brake.
What recources did you use to get this tank? Cause like 125mil credits or almost 200 euro worth of gold seems kinda meh to me
This is what the game has come to - "Premium" tier 10 vehicles. If it was added to the tech tree I'd probably grind to it but I'm not going to shell out $200 for a semi-meta tank at least against other tier 10's. But you're right. My Obj.140 felt lame in games against this. It's brutal that WG did this without a new counter vehicle - I guess this has others wondering how long before we see a premium tier 10 Japanese slugger enter the game and go toe-to-toe with this and others I'm sure are coming in.

Its going to be a no for me. While it'd be an interesting Novelty tank to have in the garage (basically an up-armored Leopard 1, NOT a heavy), I can't justify blowing that many resources on something I already have (again, Leopard 1 just up-armored). Wish we wouldn't have to be forced to waste so many resources or it may be a yes for me.

This is just the MBT KPZ-70 which Germany partnered with the US to make a next gen tank. The armor realistically is significantly worse than what is shown and the gun was actually a 152 mm gun/launcher system. Is strange to see tanks like this in WOT

It was a good review; it was a great review if you wanted a video about the tank compared to the 5A. A drinking game when he says 5A might get you 50 drinks. It relies on that comparison too much for people who aren't interested in the 5A.
Why the hell does the 120mm gun on this get 110mm of pen, but the BZ-75's 152mm gun only get 90mm of pen?

no, always had its fictional 120mm gun. The Concept 1B is the only hightier tank with 110mm as far as I can remember

Ofc its not worth it, you can get multiple tanks from bond shop for those bonds

@@icephoenix3565 not like this tank is super good either. From bond shop 121b is very good, m60 is ok, Foch is bad, but unique, 215 is just bad. Point is you can pick 3 new toys for those bonds, instead of just one average tank.
Sure, those tanks you can get any time, but at least I feel like KPZ is not that unique to go crazy and spend so much

Looking like a skip for me. The latter half of the year is always the most eventful and i cant justify the cost of this over the possible wheeled medium or new tanks during the waffentraueger event. Not to mention wg's aniversary is early next week so its a no brainer.
