Any advice for a 2006 535xi e60 n52 giving a p107a code? It threw p0015 at 95,000. I changed the vanos, plugs and coils. Ran great. About 5,000 miles later, I changed the oil, and instantly after restart it threw p107a. Stutter/shudder/miss under load no matter what speed or gear/RPM. I am out of ideas except for the eccentric shaft sensor or CCV. I run BlueDriver and don’t see any abnormalities in TDC or other measurements. Would appreciate your advice. I have a 2008 X3 3.0SI with the N52 with 107,000 miles on it.
Shortly after purchasing it I got those two codes. After searching everyone said it was the vanos solenoids. So I replaced both of those with OEM parts.
A week later the codes came back. I bought another vanos solenoid thinking maybe I got 2 bad ones. I replaced just one of them. The codes came back shortly after and it again was both intake and exhaust at the same time.
I took a shot in the dark and replaced the vanos check valves, the codes still came back.
Then I replaced the camshaft position sensors thinking maybe they were just broken. The codes still came back.
When the codes do come back it is usually just after startup and I can feel the engine surge a bit, and then it throws the codes.
Curiously every single time it throws the codes it is both intake and exhaust at the same time.
I think it might be the vanos actuator motor?
    To summarize I've replaced:
    Both vanos solenoids
    Both camshaft position sensors
    Both Vanos check valves
Either way I want to stop throwing parts at it in hopes it will fix the problem.
    Any idea.
Please I need you help I know you own bmw.
    Thank you for you time.

Might be simple... But worth a shot at this point lol
      1. Have you tried doing an oil change, using the proper fluid listed in your owner's manual?
Cause the wrong oil was used in my engine (5W-30); but it's suppose to be 5W-40, which prompted the P0015 for me.
So I bought the proper oil for it, and gave it to the mechanic to use.
      2. Within the Oil Filter Housing Cap (confirm w/ your vehicle); there was a missing oil filter cage in mine - that also prompted the P0015 again. I bought a replacement Oil Filter Housing Cap, which solved the problem for me.
Hard to find a trustworthy mechanic nowadays to even do an oil change.. so I started doing it myself lol
Hopefully those two solutions help you.

Did you end up finding a solution. I replaced both of my solenoids and it was diving kind of normal. Then after a month I got the p0015 code again. Should I change my camshaft position sensors next?
      Thank you

@@e90gabe guess what? That bucking crap came back not long after that fix. It seems to be better in the rainm. It DEFINITELY feels like something gets stuck then releases like something turning and it releases and springs into an accelerate or decelerate motion depending on if i am going faster or slowing down. Definitely mechanical and Definitely something with the shifting. I know for a fact BMW dropped thr ball on this bigtime with their X models early on and because its SUCH a big an expensive recall, they are basically sending everyone in circles saying they do not know what we are referring to as "they see nothing wrong with it". I even had corporate HQ come and see the car personally and same run around. The car is GREAT except low gears absolutely suck! I hope anyone considering BMW runs fast and far away from the idea as they Definitely are not taking accountability on this one. It's some working part in the gear/trans system and no way in hell would they replace HOW many trans??? I guarantee just like the cheap $10 plastic gear in the servo motor, its something to that affect but the labor alone isnt worth their effort to recall. I did have my servo motor plastic gear changed 4 years ago. $10 vs buying new servo motor. Works fine. However this bucking crap is so annoying it makes the car very uncomfortable to drive. I feel like I am riding a horse in training while in low gear. So this vidro was great BUT within days of writing that review it went right back to the same thing. Sell your bmw and get even a bus pass at this rate lol. BMW is the absolute worst. Not for nothing but their newer cars suck just as bad! They are VERY cheaply made! Nevet again with this company. They rode their high profile name square into the mud.

Your vid does not even show what you are doing, only shows the top of your hands, nothing else, actually this is quite a reach to do, (best to remove the snorkel for more access) as stated, THE VID DOES NOT EVEN SHOW WHAT YOU WILL BE UP AGAINST, buyer beware.
